Circumstances

Circumstances describe your situation.

Examples include enemies, wealth, notoriety, social status, contacts, fame, and imprisonment.

Because each Playgroup has its own setting, Circumstances record the Playgroup they were acquired in.

Outsider
From Assets and Liabilities
You are not an accepted member of society. You have no citizenship in any country or nation, and have no legally recognized forms of identification or licenses, making many elements of modern life impossible for you to attain. Making Moves to gain new Circumstances is significantly hampered by your outsider status, and in some cases may be completely impossible. Your Outsider status may occasionally cause GMs to give you new Loose Ends, at their discretion.

Conditions

Conditions describe your state of being.

Examples of Conditions include curses, diseases, and impactful personality quirks.

Conditions are granted by Assets and Liabilities or by GMs based on the events of Contracts and Downtime activities like Moves, and Loose Ends.

Because Conditions may have GM-created systems, they also record the Playgroup they were acquired in.

From Assets and Liabilities
Short You are very short, 4’6” at most. You have difficulty reaching or manipulating objects designed for normal adults, and your move speed is reduced by half.

Loose Ends

Group of Enemies

Moderate Deadly Given by a Liability
Your antics have attracted the attention of a powerful group of beings, and they are willing to commit whatever collective resources they have towards destroying you.

Biography

July 21, 2015 São Paulo Zoo

Workers report a missing baby Chimp from the pen; an exhaustive search of the surrounding pens and residential areas turn up nothing. Perplexed, the authorities chalk it up to exotic animal thieves and the whims of some super rich spoiled brat. The truth was far more horrifying. Many miles outside the city limits in a hidden facility, a group of fringe scientists now had a subject to unleash their experiments upon. The next step in evolution, a merging of medical sciences and disciplines.

Years of surgeries, drugs, gene- and hypno-therapy twisted the body and mind of the poor creature, which the group named simply "Macaco." After he started displaying heightened intellect Macaco was introduced to computers and electronics as a way to broaden his range of knowledge, as well as learn about the world at large. It worked; perhaps too well. Macaco, seeing the scope and breadth of the freedom he was denied, started making his plans to escape. There were many tries, and many failures. His captors punished Macaco severely, further fueling his desire to be free as well as his growing distrust of Humans.

Finally, several months before his 7th birthday Macaco put into action his latest and greatest plan yet. It involved a knocked out guard, a stolen I.D., some loose change and a pile of mashed potatoes. Needless to say, after the dust settled and with the alarms still blaring Macaco was able to make good his escape. For the first time that he could remember, he was free!!!

But this was not the end of Macaco's troubles. No doubt the people that took him would want their prize back, no matter the risks or consequences. For the time being Macaco would lay low and play it cool.
