Description

Working in a hospice, Val had found her calling. She could just KNOW for certain how long a patient had. And sometimes, walking down the street, talking to a passerby or a homeless person, she could sometimes see that they didn’t have long left either. A smoker’s lung cancer, a drinkers liver. Buy the time she could see them, her warnings would be too late to save them, but she would warn them anyway, to give them time to prepare, but also on the off chance that they could be saved. An agent of death only collects the souls who already are fated to move on, but does not force death and preserves life where it lies.

System

Exert your Mind, choose a Sapient target within Arm's Reach and spend 1 Minute examining them. At the end of the cast time roll Intellect + Medicine Difficulty 6. The quality of the information you receive depends on your Outcome, and the nature of the information depends on the Enhancements you have chosen.

The number of information-revealing Enhancements attached to this power is limited to 2 for Novice characters, 4 for Seasoned characters, and 7 for Veteran characters. You may still take any number of other, non-informational enhancements.

Enhancements

  • Other (You can learn some other piece of information about the target)

    • Type of Information - Health Bar (You know your target’s total hp, any injuries effecting their hp, and if they are going to die from a previous affliction in the next month, you learn what is killing them and how long they have

  • Concealed (Using this Effect is not obvious. Choose a Tell that occurs only when you use the Effect; if-- and only if-- someone suspects that a Effect was used, they must roll Perception + Alertness, Difficulty 8 to pick up on your Tell.)

    • Tell - Talking to the target in a calm voice

Drawbacks

  • Conversationalist (You must actively converse with the individual in question for one minute in order to gather any information.)
