My Greatest Creation!

"Finally! After months of slaving over the same metal frame and robotic motors, I've finally put together my greatest prototype yet. Let's get a big round of applause for F.I.D.0-1!" Dr. Skunk applauds herself, the claps echoing around the space of her large laboratory. "The software, however, still has a few bugs that're gonna make him a little bit hard to use, but that'll get sorted out nice and quick! Only I am able to communicate with him, and in the event that I am unable to move, it has basically one directive at that point: Get me the heck outta there! I'll be able to send F.I.D.0-1 into rooms first to alert me of potential threats, something that I'm just not too terribly good at. I spent a long while perfecting the synthetic olfactory centers, auditory processors, and optical receptors, so I know that he's gonna be a real asset to the team.

"The Foundation was pleased with my work at Reptile Land, and they paid me handsomely. One of their scientist types actually reviewed my personal work for F.I.D.0-1 and helped me put the finishing touches on the software! He told me that most of my compiled work was a mess of bodging, and, honestly, he wasn't wrong... I'm a professional mechanical engineer, not a darn computer scientist! So, in reality, they really helped me get F.I.D.0-1 on his feet and working. Without them, I doubt that I would have finished even a Beta version of that code for another year, as much as it pains me to admit it.

"So, I guess I'm in their debt now. But we can keep this mutually beneficial relationship going for as long as we want! If they keep giving me more improvements to my designs, I'll be able to create even more companions. The next project is already in the works... but it might take a couple of months to get ready. Now that I have a good baseline for autonomous drone software, however, it should be a much smoother process to create a bipedal companion."

Tapping Into the Fourth Dimension!

"Okay! I think it's stable!" Dr. Skunk says, panting. There is a very low whirring in the background of the audio recording. "The Foundation trusted me to make good use of this SCP... and I've thankfully managed to not destroy it during the prototype phase. Each time the steamer cases got crunched, I was able to recover the anomalous module from the circuit board. It took some tweaking and playing with materials, but it looks like this case will do it! As long as everything goes to plan, I should be able to hold tons of stuff in here! Never again will I be without my precious sniper rifle... and now I won't have to break my back carrying it or its ammo! If my calculations are correct, I should be able to hold an assault rifle, shotgun, submachine gun, sniper rifle, and grenade launcher without much problem... and it will all weigh absolutely nothing! And not only this, the case will be able to transform into the contents stored inside. I totally understand how it works! It's all recorded in my... uh... notes! The blueprints! Yes!

"I'm sure the Foundation will be pleased to hear of my success! They helped to finalize the software for F.I.D.0-1, so it's only fair that I try and make something for them too, right? I bet they won't mind me taking the module on jobs with me, considering that I've been such a great help to them in the past. Besides, I've gotta do some field testing to make sure that all the functions don't have bugs, right?"

Perfect Memory

[Skunk is writing this journal on a page, rather than the audio recordings that she usually creates, then uploads to her server. Her handwriting isn't the best, a strange mixture of cursive and print.]

---

Seems like, with all this extra time to myself, I'm finally able to get a bit of reading done. It's kind of nice, being alone to myself, unable to contact anyone from the outside world. Okay, maybe that part isn't very fun, but having the free time is a welcome change. I don't feel the pressure to constantly be coming up with new smoking hot takes for Twitter. Even though I'm sure my fans are wondering where I've been lately... I think that some of the others at the company are making posts for me. The normal stuff, like robotics videos and some of the more recent rocket ship stuff that we've been working on.

Dr. Collymore, the researcher with the incredible energy bars, has provided me with a little bit of reading to help me get through my stay in jail. I'm trying to learn some languages after realizing how lost I am outside of a place that can speak English. The books provided were not... terribly useful, save for a Spanish dictionary which I've been consistantly reading through. I don't remember my mind working this smoothly, even after I got my first job with The Foundation. As I'm flipping through the pages of the dictionary, I'm noticing more connections and patterns than I think that I would have picked up on before. It didn't take me long at all to start being able to grasp basic spanish vocabulary and develop it into a tenative understanding of the language. I can easily recall the spelling and pronunciation of different words on the page. I'm sure a native Spanish speaker would want to strangle me for messing with the grammar and accent, but hey, it's the best I can do while holed up in a jail cell!

I really miss F.I.D.0-1, though. I hope he's okay...
