Description

System

Exert your Mind and spend 2 Rounds hacking a target Computer. Roll Intellect + Investigation Difficulty 6, the Difficulty of which is determined by the GM based on the security of the system you are hacking. A bar's point-of-sales system would be Difficulty 5, a major social media site Difficulty 7, and a nuclear reactor is Difficulty 9.

If you succeed, you may issue a single command to the system. This command must have a specific outcome or be a request for specific login credentials. The command you issue must be within the machine's current capabilities. For example, you cannot order a standard security camera to grow legs and walk around.

You cannot use this Power on Alien technology. Sapient targets can be hacked, but they can roll Mind to resist. Your hacking roll and their resistance roll are both Difficulty 6.

Enhancements

  • Circuit Scrambler (You may issue a "self-destruct" command that leaves the hacked system's hardware inoperable, even if that machine had no such functionality previously. Only works on Computers.)
  • Alien Tech (You may use this Power on Alien technology.)

Drawbacks

  • Focus (Using this Effect requires a specific kind of item.)
  • Unique Focus (This Power takes the form of a specific, unique item, which can be borrowed, lost, or stolen. You must use / wear this item as intended to use this Power.)
