Description

Jose shoulders the Shock Web Gun, a long sleek obsidian rifle with clear tubing that focus 3 metallic black points that focus a single ball of lightning at it's center. A bolt of lightning lances out and locks up the targets nerves or wrenches them backwards into a grappled position. Pumping enough watts into the rifle through his wrist, Jose can lock down almost anything.

System

Spend an Action, Exert your Mind, and roll Brawn + Science Difficulty 6 to Restrict a target within 20 feet. The target may contest this by rolling Body, Difficulty 6 as a Free Action. Success fixes the target in place at their location, although they still can move their arms, use Powers, etc.

The target may attempt to break free by making an attack against their bonds at +1 difficulty. Breaking the binding requires an amount of damage equal to double the initial Outcome. Damage from multiple attacks is cumulative and stacks linearly. Other individuals may also damage the binding by attacking it at +1 difficulty.

Enhancements

  • Encase (If the Contested Outcome is higher than the target’s Brawn, they are encased and cannot take any physical Actions other than attempting to escape until they break free.)
  • Cantrip (Activating this Effect has no Exertion cost, but its Gift Cost can never be increased above 2.)
  • Ethereal Chains (The binding affects intangible targets like ghosts and can no longer be attacked physically. Instead, a restricted target may roll Mind at Difficulty 7 to attempt to escape the binding.)

Drawbacks

  • Fuel (Using this Effect consumes some material good in addition to its other costs.)
