Description

The wizard holds up the glowing necklace in defiance, as a white ball of light flies out toward the target. The Necklace vibrates with intensity, as it's energy being wielded could turn on the caster in a heartbeat. On impact with the target, ice spreads up the victim from their feet, encasing them in ice.

System

Spend an Action, Exert your Mind, and roll [[activation-roll]] to Restrict a target within 20 feet. The target may contest this by rolling [[defensive-roll]]. Success fixes the target in place at their location, although they still can move their arms, use Powers, etc.

The target may attempt to break free by making an attack against their bonds at +1 difficulty. Breaking the binding requires an amount of damage equal to double the initial Outcome. Damage from multiple attacks is cumulative and stacks linearly. Other individuals may also damage the binding by attacking it at +1 difficulty.


Enhancements

  • Conduit (You may use this Effect at unlimited range, but you require a token of your target to do so, such as a track of the target, a body part of the target, etc. One activation per token.)
    • Token Type - sample of their blood

  • Cantrip (Activating this Effect has no Exertion cost, but its Gift Cost can never be increased above 2.)
  • Encase (If the Contested Outcome is higher than the target’s Brawn, they are encased and cannot take any physical Actions other than attempting to escape until they break free.)
    • None - Science (Fire or heat)

Drawbacks

  • Fan Dance (This Effect lasts as long as you maintain Concentration.)
  • Unique Focus (This Power takes the form of a specific, unique item, which can be borrowed, lost, or stolen. You must use / wear this item as intended to use this Power.)
  • Focus (Using this Effect requires a specific kind of item.)
    • Object - Magic Necklace
  • Critical Failure (Roll a single D10 when you activate this Effect. If you roll a 1, you critically fail in a way that is extraordinarily dangerous. Failure should cause at least a Severity-4 Injury, a Major Battle Scar, or an effect counter to its purpose.)
    • Critical Failure effect - Freezes his own feet in place
