Description

Jeremy points his eye at a device and his iris begins to show one and zeros as he uploads a backdoor into the machine.

System

Spend an Action and target a Device within 20 feet. You may now communicate with the technology whether or not it exposes a physical interface. Concentration must be maintained or the connection will be lost.

This Power does not grant new functionality to the device, nor does it grant you any ability to forge authentication credentials or bypass security measures unless the device is already unlocked or logged in. For example, you may use it to control cars that have already been turned on, phones that are unlocked, or access emails on a computer that is already logged in.

It grants you access to its standard set of input/output devices (monitor, keyboard, touchscreen, buttons, etc).

Enhancements

  • High Speed Connection (You may “download” information from a connected target extremely quickly, at a rate of up to 100 TB/second. Processing and making sense of the information requires a roll of Intellect + a relevant Ability, and can take up to an hour.)
  • Public Network (When you Interface with a single device, you may also interface with any similar device on the same network.)
  • Old School (You may issue commands to any Device, allowing you to operate switches, buttons, dials, levers, and latches.)
  • Long-Distance Relationship (After successfully using this Effect, you may choose to add the target to your own personal "network." You may use this Effect on any target on your network at any range. You can have up to 3 targets on your network.)

Drawbacks

  • Focus (Using this Effect requires a specific kind of item.)
    • Object - Prostetic eye
  • Unique Focus (This Power takes the form of a specific, unique item, which can be borrowed, lost, or stolen. You must use / wear this item as intended to use this Power.)
