Lines behind Tori’s ears that could have been scars or slits open up grotesquely to dark pits. She closes her eyes and listens, shuddering at the whistling air in open, sensitive flesh. She’s able to pick out what isn’t “right”; this power wouldn’t so much work on a human with magic powers as it would some sort of body horror creature, with unique biology.

For the next hour, the mock-spiracles close up and Tori is severely dehydrated. She didn’t have her usual own lab to work in, but couldn’t help MacGyvering another project.
