Morgion the Mottled is a disciple of the plague god Sakpata who will risk their life to become the ultimate placeholder and bring about the will of the Plaguefather, plunging the world into pestilence to cull the weak that hinder mankind.

They are 40 years old, live in placeholder, and often appears as mask-wearing figure in moth-eaten rotted grey robes.

Movement

Movement is taken immediately before OR after your Action. It cannot be split.

- Dashing penalizes your Action -1 die per 5 feet.
All-out Sprint: instead of using free Movement or Dash, you may spend your Action and roll Brawn + Athletics ( dice) Difficulty 6. You move (0 + (Outcome x 5) Feet).

Actions

Attack with your weapon or hands.
Evade by rolling to Defend or Dodge. Your Outcome is "spent" to reduce the Outcome of any incoming attacks until your next Action.
Activate a Power or use an Ability as normal.
Hold your Action by declaring an Action and a triggering event. If the event occurs before your turn on the next Round, you perform the Action.

If you have not yet spent your Action this Round, you may use it as a Reaction.

Reactions

Dodge by rolling Dexterity + Athletics ( dice) Difficulty 6. Your Outcome is subtracted from the attacker's.
Defend with your weapon by rolling its attack roll. Your Outcome is subtracted from the attacker's. Availability depends on weapon match-up (tap/hover).
Clash with the attacker using the same roll you would use to Defend. The higher Outcome (not contested) is treated as the result of a successful, undefended attack roll against the loser.

Desperate Defense

If you have already used your Action, you may Exert your Mind to perform a Reaction. Your next Round's Action receives a -2 dice penalty. You cannot Clash as a Desperate Defense.

Will to Survive

Once per Contract, you may reduce the severity of an incoming Injury up to 4 Severity levels (to a minimum of Severity 4). You take a point of Mind damage and suffer a Major Battle Scar that lingers after the Injury is healed, even with proper Stabilization.

If an attack's Outcome is positive after defense, it results in a new Injury with Severity = Outcome + Weapon damage - Armor

Requires an advanced first aid kit for Severity 4 Injuries, a field surgery kit for Severity 5 Injuries, and a surgery theater for Severity 6+ Injuries.

Roll Intellect + Medicine, Difficulty equal to Severity

An Outcome of 1 or greater will Stabilize the Injury and stop its degradation.
Complete success (Outcome 4+) puts the Injury on track to heal clean: its Battle Scar heals with it.
Failed attempts can be retried at +1 Difficulty per failure.
On a Botch, the Injury's Severity increases by 1.

Makeshift Stabilization

Attempt a major treatment using insufficient or improvised medical equipment.

Roll Intellect + Medicine, Difficulty > Severity

Any positive Outcome (1+) will Stabilize the Injury and stop its degradation.
However, any Outcome less than 4 increases the Injury’s Severity by 1. Botches also worsen its Battle Scar.
Regardless of Outcome, any Battle Scars caused by the Injury will persist after it is fully healed.
Failed attempts can be retried at +1 Difficulty per failure.

Self-stabilization attempts are rolled at +1 Difficulty.

Biography

Félix Bédié is an African man in his late 40s with a slim & wiry build and above average height. Born in the Ivory Coast, his main language is French, but he speaks English fluently with the accent of a man who spent his life in academics. He is reluctant to talk about himself and tends to deflect questions back to the asker, albeit politely. He is a research scientist specializing in the field of contagious diseases at Université des Sciences et Technologies de Côte d'Ivoire

His other life is as Morgion the Mottled. High Priest and disciple of Sakpata, also known Sopono/a, Shakpana, or Sakpata-Omolu. The Yoruba god of Smallpox, Pestilence, Disease and Decay. He is part of a secret Yoruba brotherhood called the Tambazi Ufu, a cult devoted to Sakpata and the culling of the weak from the world through the Plaguefather's cleansing.
