Circumstances describe your situation.
Examples include enemies, wealth, notoriety, social status, contacts, fame, and imprisonment.
Because each Playgroup has its own setting, Circumstances record the Playgroup they were acquired in.
Conditions describe your state of being.
Examples of Conditions include curses, diseases, and impactful personality quirks.
Conditions are granted by Assets and Liabilities or by GMs based on the events of Contracts and Downtime activities like Moves, and Loose Ends.
Because Conditions may have GM-created systems, they also record the Playgroup they were acquired in.
Loose Ends will cause problems for you if you don't tie them up.
Examples of Loose Ends include enemies, debts, evidence, and promises.
All Loose Ends have a Cutoff that counts down each time you attend a Contract. When it hits zero, the Threat of your Loose End manifests, causing issues for your Contractor.
You cannot see the current values of your Loose Ends' Cutoffs, but you can take initiative and make Moves on your Downtimes to deal with them before time runs out.

Jo Andrews maintains that he has two things that other artists seem to lack: passion and perspective.
From a young age, he was always interested in artistry. He always saw the inherent beauty of reality, and had always worked to finally attain unreachable skill such that he could finally portray this beauty on canvas. As he grew older, honing his skills, he quickly found that the world of artistry was surpassing him. Whether purposeful or not, others had managed to convey the beauty he'd sought after before he'd been able to, and by the time his technique was to an acceptable level, it was too late.
He had met the ultimate dead end. A lesser artist would've given up - but seeing the beauty in reality, and harbouring unconceivable passion within, he found another path. For as ridiculous as it seems, there is one way to depict beauty which has seemingly been untouched: by the hole that it leaves. The dissonance of beauty, the complete opposite, or the lack of it. The few truly ugly spots in reality shine a light on all the other places.
When Jo Andrews is faced with opportunities that might get him closer to these ugly spaces, he takes them. He has to be the first to capture anti-reality. This is the one path to true art!
