He is 32 years old, lives in San Francisco, and often appears as A tall, pale, and dark haired man typically wearing a lab coat.

    From a young age, Mortimer has always been vaguely aware of death, his father who was a police officer didn't come home one day and after some men from his work came to the door he could see a dark shadow pass over his mother's face. He hasn't forgotten that look his mother had, how could he? He sees it every day at the mortuary he owns on the faces of those who have lost loved ones just like his mother.

    Mortimer is also coincidentally incredibly gifted, his mother and father originally assumed he just had an overactive imagination when he said he could see his shadow moving when he wouldn't be. But it was soon seen by them first hand, Mortimer's father insisted they register him with the DSP and so the next morning, they did just that. It was a week later that his father passed away. His own shadow isn't the only thing Mortimer can manipulate, at his father's funeral he could see a strange aura coming off his father's body. This intrigued Mortimer more than anything and he felt it unnecessary to share with his mother but a month later he found a dead cat in the woods and he noticed that same strange aura. Out of morbid curiosity, he reached out to the cat and the moment his hand made contact with some exposed bone which fell off and turned to dust shortly after, the cat began to spasm violently and screech in what sounded like sheer torment, after a few seconds the cat fell still and from the remains rose the spirit of the cat, completely mindless and awaiting it's command. From this moment forward, Mortimer knew what he had to do, he started experimenting with dead animals he'd find on the side of the road and soon realized he would need human souls to learn more about what death truly was.

    Mortimer began to excel in his lessons at school and became the top student of his class every year, eventually getting into Harvard Medical school and once again graduating at the top of his class. He then opened his own mortuary after gaining experience in other funerary homes and coroner's offices. Mortimer was finally able to run his experiments unhindered, he just had to be careful, as non consensual necromancy isn't exactly the most legal of practices, and seeing as he's registered his necromancy with the DSP it'd be pretty easy to pin him, so he only practices on people who are to be cremated, but he's starting to grow tired of this restriction as well and wishes he could find more effective means of research
