    Circumstances

    Circumstances describe your situation.

Examples include enemies, wealth, notoriety, social status, contacts, fame, and imprisonment.

Because each Playgroup has its own setting, Circumstances record the Playgroup they were acquired in.

    Finances: Comfortable
    From Assets and Liabilities
Your finances are in-order, and you can afford to spare some for your Contracting. You have access to $35,000 (or equivalent currency) per Contract.

    Conditions

Conditions describe your state of being.

Examples of Conditions include curses, diseases, and impactful personality quirks.

Conditions are granted by Assets and Liabilities or by GMs based on the events of Contracts and Downtime activities like Moves, and Loose Ends.

Because Conditions may have GM-created systems, they also record the Playgroup they were acquired in.

    From Assets and Liabilities
Imbued After accepting your first Invitation to a Contract, you are Imbued, altering you in several ways. After completing a Contract, your learning and conditioning improves rapidly. However, you require the Contracts to advance. You have an indomitable Will to Survive. You may Exert your Mind to improve the Outcome of your Actions. You are highly receptive to therapy and may "cure" one of your Traumas with counseling on a Downtime.
Tough You can function under intense pain. Stress from Injuries is reduced by 2.
Sensitive You're emotionally fragile, and very likely to be mentally and emotionally scarred by your experiences. You have four Limits, instead of the usual three.
Focused You’re cool under pressure. Stress from Mind Damage is reduced by 2.

    Loose Ends

Loose Ends will cause problems for you if you don't tie them up.

Examples of Loose Ends include enemies, debts, evidence, and promises.

All Loose Ends have a Cutoff that counts down each time you attend a Contract. When it hits zero, the Threat of your Loose End manifests, causing issues for your Contractor.

You cannot see the current values of your Loose Ends' Cutoffs, but you can take initiative and make Moves on your Downtimes to deal with them before time runs out.

    Biography

    WORK IN PROGRESS

Augustus Sinclair was born and raised in the heart of San Angelo, Texas, a town steeped in both history and mystery. His early years were marked by a profound curiosity about the world and a passion for unraveling its secrets. Gifted with an innate intellect, he quickly became the pride of his family. His parents, recognizing his potential, nurtured his thirst for knowledge, filling their home with books and artifacts that fueled his imagination.

Upon graduating from high school, Augustus earned a scholarship that led him to a prestigious university in Ashbrook. In this vibrant city of history and academia, he encountered Elena Thorne, a fellow student whose enigmatic charm captivated him. Unbeknownst to him, Elena was deeply involved with "The Red Creed," a secretive cult with beliefs that intrigued Augustus.

The particular branch of the cult he was taken to was called "The Nocturn Sect" as it had to deal with the Great Eye's Dream, whatever that means. All Augustus knows is that it has less to do with blood rituals (not that there aren't any), and more to do with the act of sleep and control of dreams in order to "become more in tune with yourself and the Eye". Augustus doesn't really understand what that means just yet, but he must admit that it has been quite helpful. It allows him to essentially lucid dream in a way that is most effective for practicing things without actually waking up.

Drawn into the world of The Red Creed, Augustus became an active member, fascinated by their ideologies and rituals. His youth and enthusiasm made him a valuable asset to the cult, and he quickly rose through their ranks. Balancing his studies, he dedicated his spare time to clandestine activities, procuring artifacts for the cult and immersing himself in their mysteries.

Shortly after his (admittedly traumatizing) indoctrination into the cult, Augustus began to dedicate more and more of his free time into his studies, part of which came from a man in the cult itself, an ex-forensics investigator and father by the name of Ivan Malone.

At the age of 25, during his final year in university, Augustus caught the attention of a mysterious Harbinger. Recognizing his potential, the Harbinger offered him a Contract—a pact that would grant him extraordinary powers in exchange for completing mysterious missions. Eager for power and adventure, Augustus accepted, embracing the opportunity that aligned with his fervent beliefs in The Red Creed's mission.

Now, living in San Angelo once more, Augustus Sinclair leads a double life. By day, he works as a young curator at the local museum, passionately preserving the history of his hometown. By night, he delves into the occult world of The Red Creed, fulfilling his duties as a devoted member and Contractor. With his youthful determination, Augustus faces the challenges of his dual identity head-on, navigating the complexities of the cult, the enigmatic Contracts, and the mysteries that surround his own destiny.
