Pete Musling is a scorned pest control professional who will risk his life to become a technocorp and defeat Reticorp and get his old job back.

He is 48 years old, lives in an old apartment near the town he used to kill pest in, and often appears as an extremely large man with hefty bags under his eyes and a cigarette in his mouth, a large brown jacket with a wool collar, and a black duffelbag over his shoulder filled to the brim.

Movement

Movement is taken immediately before OR after your Action. It cannot be split.
You may Free Move (0) feet. Minimum 5 feet.
You may Dash up to an additional (0 feet).
- Dashing penalizes your Action -1 die per 5 feet.
All-out Sprint: instead of using free Movement or Dash, you may spend your Action and roll Brawn + Athletics ( dice) Difficulty 6. You move (0 + (Outcome x 5) Feet).

Actions

Attack with your weapon or hands.
Evade by rolling to Defend or Dodge. Your Outcome is "spent" to reduce the Outcome of any incoming attacks until your next Action.
Activate a Power or use an Ability as normal.
Hold your Action by declaring an Action and a triggering event. If the event occurs before your turn on the next Round, you perform the Action.

If you have not yet spent your Action this Round, you may use it as a Reaction.

Reactions

Dodge by rolling Dexterity + Athletics ( dice) Difficulty 6. Your Outcome is subtracted from the attacker's.
Defend with your weapon by rolling its attack roll. Your Outcome is subtracted from the attacker's. Availability depends on weapon match-up (tap/hover).
Clash with the attacker using the same roll you would use to Defend. The higher Outcome (not contested) is treated as the result of a successful, undefended attack roll against the loser.

Desperate Defense

If you have already used your Action, you may Exert your Mind to perform a Reaction. Your next Round's Action receives a -2 dice penalty. You cannot Clash as a Desperate Defense.

Will to Survive

Once per Contract, you may reduce the severity of an incoming Injury up to 4 Severity levels (to a minimum of Severity 4). You take a point of Mind damage and suffer a Major Battle Scar that lingers after the Injury is healed, even with proper Stabilization.

If an attack's Outcome is positive after defense, it results in a new Injury with Severity = Outcome + Weapon damage - Armor

Proper Stabilization

Requires an advanced first aid kit for Severity 4 Injuries, a field surgery kit for Severity 5 Injuries, and a surgery theater for Severity 6+ Injuries.

Roll Intellect + Medicine, Difficulty equal to Severity

An Outcome of 1 or greater will Stabilize the Injury and stop its degradation.
Complete success (Outcome 4+) puts the Injury on track to heal clean: its Battle Scar heals with it.
Failed attempts can be retried at +1 Difficulty per failure.
On a Botch, the Injury's Severity increases by 1.

Makeshift Stabilization

Attempt a major treatment using insufficient or improvised medical equipment.

Roll Intellect + Medicine, Difficulty > Severity

(Difficulty based on materials and tactics used)

Any positive Outcome (1+) will Stabilize the Injury and stop its degradation.
However, any Outcome less than 4 increases the Injury’s Severity by 1. Botches also worsen its Battle Scar.
Regardless of Outcome, any Battle Scars caused by the Injury will persist after it is fully healed.
Failed attempts can be retried at +1 Difficulty per failure.

Self-stabilization attempts are rolled at +1 Difficulty.

Vengeful An insult to or an attack on your person simply cannot be tolerated. Each time someone wrongs you or disrespects you in a major way, you must succeed a Self-Control roll to resist taking revenge.

Tough You can function under intense pain. Stress from Injuries is reduced by 2.

Attuned Autoimmune Your background has exposed you to a wide variety of toxins and diseases, and you have adapted to resist. +2 dice to resistance rolls against any diseases or toxins.

Loose Ends

Loose Ends will cause problems for you if you don't tie them up.

Examples of Loose Ends include enemies, debts, evidence, and promises.

All Loose Ends have a Cutoff that counts down each time you attend a Contract. When it hits zero, the Threat of your Loose End manifests, causing issues for your Contractor.

You cannot see the current values of your Loose Ends' Cutoffs, but you can take initiative and make Moves on your Downtimes to deal with them before time runs out.

Biography

I was an average exterminator, I went to work, I killed pests, I got paid, repeat. It was an easy job. Real easy. Well it was.

Ya’ see i WAS really good at my job till that son of a bitch Reticorp came into town. Yeah they were good at this job. Real good. Better than me even. They took out almost all the pests in MY town, killed all my business before it even started. Roaches, rats, possums. Didn't matter what it was, if you called Reticorp then .

I just wanted to get back at them y'know. Make them scared is all. Decided to break in some old tools. Something I wish I threw away now. It didn't take me long to get past security and get into the building. It looked so small from the outside, but as I was walking past some old pipes, dark hallways, old rusted tools that definitely shouldn't have been in this building I got a little wary. I tried to turnback but somehow the place became a maze always leading down.

As I kept climbing down I eventually came upon this… thing. It was like looking at what a pesticide is. Death itself green and swirling.

I can't. I can't tell you how long I looked at it. I can tell you one thing though. It looked back. It stared into me for however long I was staring. Watching every part of me. My every move. My breathing.

My soul.

I ran from that place. I left faster than I came in, I can't remember much. They must've caught me on the cameras though because ever since then I cant hold down a single job. Every single time I think I have something to hold me over I know it wont last cause of the fucking thing in Reticcorp came into town.

Reticorp is watching my every move. I just know it. They watched me lose my house, my family, my life and I promise that as long as I’m breathing, I'm gonna take whatever makes that thing in Reticorps basement die. Mark my words.
