Josaphine Rose is a HEMA practitioner who will risk her life to become the ultimate sword saint and to lose her numbness from the "swordsmanship" of today, experience the thrill of battle and conflict and be known as the world's best swordsman.

She is 22 years old, lives in a single room apartment in Sacremnento, California, and often appears as a lady with blue eyes and white, back length hair wearing a long black dress with armor equipped over it.

Josaphine Rose lives in Earth Unveiled, a setting where we learned the supernatural's real; but in the modern-day is carefully controlled by Conspiracy.

All-out Sprint: instead of using free Movement or Dash, you may spend your Action and roll Brawn + Athletics ( dice) Difficulty 6. You move (0 + (Outcome x 5) Feet).

Actions

Attack with your weapon or hands.
Evade by rolling to Defend or Dodge. Your Outcome is "spent" to reduce the Outcome of any incoming attacks until your next Action.
Activate a Power or use an Ability as normal.
Hold your Action by declaring an Action and a triggering event. If the event occurs before your turn on the next Round, you perform the Action.

If you have not yet spent your Action this Round, you may use it as a Reaction.

Reactions

Dodge by rolling Dexterity + Athletics ( dice) Difficulty 6. Your Outcome is subtracted from the attacker's.
Defend with your weapon by rolling its attack roll. Your Outcome is subtracted from the attacker's. Availability depends on weapon match-up (tap/hover).
Clash with the attacker using the same roll you would use to Defend. The higher Outcome (not contested) is treated as the result of a successful, undefended attack roll against the loser.

Desperate Defense

If you have already used your Action, you may Exert your Mind to perform a Reaction. Your next Round's Action receives a -2 dice penalty. You cannot Clash as a Desperate Defense.

Will to Survive

Once per Contract, you may reduce the severity of an incoming Injury up to 4 Severity levels (to a minimum of Severity 4). You take a point of Mind damage and suffer a Major Battle Scar that lingers after the Injury is healed, even with proper Stabilization.

If an attack's Outcome is positive after defense, it results in a new Injury with Severity = Outcome + Weapon damage - Armor

Proper Stabilization

Requires an advanced first aid kit for Severity 4 Injuries, a field surgery kit for Severity 5 Injuries, and a surgery theater for Severity 6+ Injuries.

Roll Intellect + Medicine, Difficulty equal to Severity

An Outcome of 1 or greater will Stabilize the Injury and stop its degradation.
Complete success (Outcome 4+) puts the Injury on track to heal clean: its Battle Scar heals with it.
Failed attempts can be retried at +1 Difficulty per failure.
On a Botch, the Injury's Severity increases by 1.

Makeshift Stabilization

Attempt a major treatment using insufficient or improvised medical equipment.

Roll Intellect + Medicine, Difficulty > Severity

(Difficulty based on materials and tactics used)

Any positive Outcome (1+) will Stabilize the Injury and stop its degradation.
However, any Outcome less than 4 increases the Injury’s Severity by 1. Botches also worsen its Battle Scar.
Regardless of Outcome, any Battle Scars caused by the Injury will persist after it is fully healed.
Failed attempts can be retried at +1 Difficulty per failure.

Self-stabilization attempts are rolled at +1 Difficulty.

Biography

When I was but a young lass, I was interested in the art of swordsmanship shown on television and in the many pieces of fantasy literature which shaped my desire for all things about sword fighting and even some magic. In short, I love swords and I love fighting, which caused me to join many clubs, like the kendo club, the archery club to an extent and just LARPing as a great swordswoman. During my free time, I came to love HEMA... but that did not last quite long either... I had desired something... More from it, something real. One day, after the end of my high school days, I received an exquisite and strange blade from my family Will as well as a pair of gauntlets, supposedly from a great and powerful warrior of the past, or so my family says. I still believe it to be somewhat of an exaggeration although now I'm not so sure because the moment I came into contact with it I felt it speak to me.... Saying all my deepest and most destructive desires and repeating them louder to me in my head... Had I known that the sword wasn't just an odd heirloom a previous family member had and not this... living thing... Then maybe I would have thrown it out sooner. But right now, to me, it is my most prized possession. It has given me a certain feeling, an aching I desire... I want battle, I desire to be put through the wringer and go through many trials of the mind and body to become the best and eliminate those who want to stand in my way... I know who I am now through this facade of a kind and gentle woman, I want to be the best at what I do, and what I do best is swing this blade and pummel others with these gauntlets, I want my name to be engraved into history and I'll do it through blood and gore preferably. I do not want these futile feelings from simply playing swords and magic with others, I want the real deal.
