    Circumstances

    Circumstances describe your situation.

Examples include enemies, wealth, notoriety, social status, contacts, fame, and imprisonment.

Because each Playgroup has its own setting, Circumstances record the Playgroup they were acquired in.

    Finances: Poor
    From Assets and Liabilities
You are completely incapable of holding onto money. You start each Contract with 1d10 x10 dollars in cash.
    Outsider
    From Assets and Liabilities
You are not an accepted member of society. You have no citizenship in any country or nation, and have no legally recognized forms of identification or licenses, making many elements of modern life impossible for you to attain. Making Moves to gain new Circumstances is significantly hampered by your outsider status, and in some cases may be completely impossible. Your Outsider status may occasionally cause GMs to give you new Loose Ends, at their discretion.
Imprisoned: Magically bound to be around their vessels. (Can only move freely when all vessels are dead, the contract is broken, or when on Contracts)
    From Assets and Liabilities
You are trapped inside some form of prison or cage, and are only released temporarily to attend Contracts. At the end of each Contract, you will be returned to your prison. Your ability to do Crafting, make Moves, improve Abilities, and maintain a consistent inventory, are all significantly restricted, and you must get GM approval to attempt any of these things.

    Conditions

Conditions describe your state of being.

Examples of Conditions include curses, diseases, and impactful personality quirks.

Conditions are granted by Assets and Liabilities or by GMs based on the events of Contracts and Downtime activities like Moves, and Loose Ends.

Because Conditions may have GM-created systems, they also record the Playgroup they were acquired in.

    From Assets and Liabilities
Imbued After accepting your first Invitation to a Contract, you are Imbued, altering you in several ways. After completing a Contract, your learning and conditioning improves rapidly. However, you require the Contracts to advance. You have an indomitable Will to Survive. You may Exert your Mind to improve the Outcome of your Actions. You are highly receptive to therapy and may "cure" one of your Traumas with counseling on a Downtime.
Pathetic You are so pathetic, no one takes you seriously as a threat. As long as your Brawn rating is 1, opponents must roll Mind and achieve an Outcome of 4 or higher to attack you instead of other targets in Combat.
Adorable You're quite the cutie! Rolls where your good looks could help– be it via sexual attraction, first impression, or trustworthiness– are at -2 Difficulty. Social interactions should be role-played accordingly. Effect activations are unaffected.
Animal You have the body of an animal. You are not capable of fine object manipulation, using equipment made for humans, or speaking a human language. You have no human legal status. Your form may impart other benefits or drawbacks depending on your species. Benefits are limited to a +3 dice bonus to one or two Actions your species is specifically adapted for: [Hiding] [Sight]
Supernatural Condition You have some unique supernatural affliction or curse due to your heritage or background. The Hunger - Hope and Despair (Strong Emotions)

    Loose Ends

Dark Secret: I am unable to directly harm those who agree to become my vessels, my alien and robotic mind unwilling to destroy an energy source.

Distant Dangerous Given by a Liability
You have a secret. When it gets out, there will be immediate and significant consequences for you.

    Biography

A cosmic wish-granting emotionless creature that subsides off the despairs and hopes of souls, Puri was offered a contract. It cared little about what it had to do. Anything to get out of its previously thought unescapable prison. And now it finds itself on Earth, a place full of creatures with souls and emotions. A ripe world ready for harvest.

Puri's goal is technically to seal off this reality from others so they can't be tracked down and pursued by its previous captors, the "Demons", which are really just victims of Puri's wishes, which turned them into soulless beings like himself in exchange for powers. They say that it is to protect this reality from intruders who would rip it asunder, which is technically true, phrasing it like it is a hero or has benevolent intent. It absolutely does NOT want anyone knowing it can't say things it deems untruths of the universe.

Saying "I have only the best intentions for this world" is also a technical truth for multiple reasons. The best intentions are the intentions that best work for it, as well as the fact that this world being in good condition would be a good thing for it because it also lives there and wants to cultivate them for energy.
