Vel speaks the activation phrase into a tattoo of a mirror in Vel's left hand. In the mirror there is a more whole version of Vel chained to the floor in a room mirroring the room Vel is in. Val can talk to your mirror self about Vel's trauma, summarizing it quickly so that the mirror self knows fully the cause of the trauma.
Then, Vel must convince Vel's mirror self to take the trauma in their place.
If Vel sees them be affected immediately, taking on the physical condition of Vel at the time they received the trauma, and the room shifts to be a reflection of the traumatic moment.
This is an attempt to recreate the mirror Vel made by accident once. This time in a much more controlled situation, breaking a mirror, and surgically adding it to their hand, along with a ritual in which Vel invokes all their memories of using the mirror.
The mirror effectively creates a temporary duplicate of Vel and drags that duplicate through experiencing the trauma. The duplicates know they are duplicates, but don't have any of the traumas Vel has.
Then, at the end of this experience the duplicate must go through the trauma once more, and in so doing remove the pain of it from Vel. The mirror self is a duplicate of Vel, and given the option to help, Vel will take it, trusting their original.
Exert your Mind to activate. You may only target yourself. Over the course of one minute, your patient must communicate with you and reveal at least one of their Traumas to you, including the details of those Traumas and the circumstances of how they were acquired.
After the full treatment time has elapsed, you may remove one of the patient's revealed Traumas without incurring any Experience cost.
Anyone who witnesses you during this Effect's activation will almost certainly be disturbed to see An alternate version of Vel being trapped in the tatoo then having their traumas re-inflicted on them..

Exert your Mind and spend an Action to activate. Select a Living or Sapient target within 20 feet. This Effect cannot be used unless you, or the body you are currently possessing has been within 10 metres of a suitable host for more than five minutes. If this occurs, they have 'contracted' you. If your current body dies while a suitable host is within a mile, you must make a contested Mind roll, with up to your Mind score number of potential targets. If you fail and there are no potential targets within range, you die. If you succeed with any, you possess them. This effect also occurs if a target forces you out of their body. Roll Intellect + Alertness at Difficulty 6. The target may resist by rolling Mind at Difficulty 6.
If you succeed, you possess your target for a number of months equal to the Contested Outcome. You are in full control of the host body’s actions. While the possession is active, the host body will gain a severe egg allergy, making it very obvious to anyone who sees them that something is not right.
Your host’s consciousness will similarly be swapped into your original body, and they will have full control over it until the Effect ends. You may spend an Action to end the possession early.
Stats: During the possession, you use the host body’s Body rating, but your own Mind rating. Any rolls you make use the host body’s Brawn, Dexterity, and Perception but your own Charisma, Intellect, and Abilities. You gain the effects of any physical Assets and Liabilities they have. At some point—somewhere between all the nights she spent curled next to Bapha's twitching tail and the mornings spent cleaning blood off her shoes—Vita started hearing the way monsters think. Not words, exactly, but wants. She doesn’t bark commands. She echoes them, speaks them in the secret tongue stitched into fur and scale. It was never a spell. It's just that the beasts listen now. And worse, they obey.
Bapha hasn’t noticed. Or maybe he has, and he’s pretending not to.
When Vita activates this effect, the creature’s body convulses—like it’s being yanked on invisible wires. Its limbs twitch violently. It tries to resist, but there’s no fight in its eyes anymore—just a blank glaze and eerie stillness. The world around her goes muffled, like someone turned down the volume of everything except the sound of wet breathing and bone creak. People watching know something unspeakable just happened. They can’t say what. But they know.
This isn’t training. It’s contamination. The longer Vita spends tethered to Bapha, the more the line between her and the creatures blurs. This Gift didn’t come from study or practice—it seeped in like mold in forgotten places. Now when she looks at a beast, it knows her. Not as prey, not as predator—something worse: kin.
And she doesn’t even realize it’s happening.
Every command is a breach. Every flick of her fingers etches new cracks in the divide between mortal will and feral instinct. One day, she might give a command she doesn’t mean to. And something ancient might answer back.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select a Non-Alien Creature within 20 feet.
For the next day, you may issue specific commands to your target which they will be compelled to follow.
Your commands can be complex and multi-layered, though they must still be specific. You cannot make them obviously endanger themselves or violate their instinct for self-preservation. The effects of the command will fade after a day has passed.
Anyone who witnesses you during this Effect's activation will almost certainly be disturbed to see the creatures, body spasms as if it’s fighting for its life before it ultimately loses, said fight and its eyes glaze over anyone who witnesses has a sense that I have done something horrible to said creature and Is immediately off put by me.
The Necromancer temporarily assumes the form of their own corpse, complete with maggots, spilled entrails, and exposed bone. They cannot move while transformed, but their empty eye sockets see as well as ever.
Exert your Mind and Spend an Action.
You transform into your own corpse for one minute. While transformed, you may control the functioning of the object you have transformed into. You can perceive your surroundings as normal. You can be targeted as a Non-Living, Sapient Object.

You may end this Effect prematurely as a Free Action.

Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select a Location within 10 feet. You must actively and obviously use a ballpoint pen to activate this Effect.

The creature's claws rip through the poor, defenseless doctor's coat, opening deep gashes in their gut. It bares its fangs to lunge for the killing blow, but the doctor looks up at the attacker. Their eyes filed not with utter terror at their imminent demise, only a look of disappointment and pity. Touched, the monster hesitates. . .
This Effect activates whenever you receive a Severity 2 or higher Injury from an attack. It does not require an Action or Exertion. Select a Living target within 45 feet. Actions they take will be in keeping with their character and the way they tend to deal with strong emotions. They will be unlikely to change their mind about any actions taken or decisions made until after the Effect ends.
The Vampire may channel their inner beast and take the form of an animal. It is said they may transform into either a wolf or a bat. If used too often, the Vampire risks losing themselves to their beast forever.

While transformed, you cannot use any equipment (including Artifacts and Consumables), and you do not have access to any of your Powers. Any equipment you are wearing transforms with you.
Injuries and Wound Level are carried over between forms. However, transforming can never kill you; you merely remain Incapacitated until your Injuries are sufficiently healed.
