Almost like a trick, Looking at a lock through the eyes of the mask of dullness, the stars where the eyes of the mask are seem to glimmer as spirits appear in front of the lock.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action to activate. Select a door, lock, or locked target within 20 feet. Cannot be used on Alien technology. You must use up Cash depending on the complexity of the lock in order to activate this Effect.
You may lock, unlock, and/or open your target.
Fire is not the only thing that burns, and nothing burns more than poison inside of a basilisk. Myths say that if you speared one while sitting atop a horse, the toxins would run up the spear, killing not only the rider but also the horse he rides upon. Burning, crawling acid fits such a description.
This Effect activates whenever Taking a severity two or greater injury. It does not require an Action or Exertion. Select a Living target within arm’s reach. Roll Dexterity + Melee at Difficulty 6. Your target may resist by rolling Body at Difficulty 7.
If you succeed, the target is afflicted with a Condition that causes one of the following symptoms:
The affliction can be diagnosed with a Medicine roll, and may be cured by modern medicine through treatment at a fully equipped facility. Treatment outside of a facility may stop the affliction from worsening for a day, but will not cure the underlying Condition.
Through the boons of satan, Terra alters the mind his targets exerting his control and forcing the darkness of sin and evil to cloud what they see.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action to activate. Select a target within arm's reach. Choose an illusion to generate, which can be no larger than a briefcase.
The chosen illusion is generated at your target, and it will remain in place for the next minute. It can be perceived by people through their sight. The illusion cannot be used as an attack. You cannot make an exact replica of an existing Animate being.
Anyone who touches the illusion (or who would be able to perceive it significantly through a sense it cannot fool) realizes it is an illusion and can choose to perceive it or not at will.
The illusion will remain fixed to its initial target, and can only change locations if the initial target is mobile in some way. It may have moving parts and engage in simple, predetermined movements but cannot perform anything complex or interactive unless you maintain Concentration and “puppeteer” it.
Wolf points at the target that they wish to bind, after that the animal skull on their person begins to glow with runes before a spiritual form of the creature that the skull came from leaps out of the skull and begins moving rapidly towards the target, as it moves towards the target it rapidly gains flesh and blood before it unhinges it's jaw and attempts to consume the target whole, the longer that the target is held in the jaws the closer they get to closing completely after the target has spent 3 rounds within the spirits mouth.
Exert your Mind (unless you win a coin flip) and spend an Action. Select a target within 45 feet. You must actively and obviously use Animal skull to activate this Effect. Roll Brawn + Athletics at Difficulty 6. The target may contest by Defending or Dodging.
If you succeed, your target will be restricted at their location by a physical, tangible binding. They cannot move to a new location, and, if your Contested Outcome was greater than their Brawn, they are encased and cannot take any physical Actions other than attempting to escape until they break free.
The target may spend an Action and roll Brawn or Dexterity + Athletics to attempt to break free. They must accumulate a total Outcome equal to or greater than the original Contested Outcome to escape. Damage to the binding from outside sources also contributes.
If your target does not escape within 3 Rounds, they cannot ever free themselves and must be rescued.
Anyone who witnesses you during this Effect's activation will almost certainly be disturbed to see The spirit gains flesh and consumes the target.
Possession of this Power grants the following Battle Scar: disfigured.
Rumbling along a highway deep in the night, she has taken many strange people into the plastic and steel of her vehicle. Sometimes a taxi, sometimes a boat, sometimes her truck. But too many of them disappear before their stop. Those are the ones she can really understand, and sometimes that's all a ghost needs.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select a Dead target within 50 feet. For dead targets, you must possess their their spirit.
The target can communicate in your language for the next hour.
You may only use this Effect once per target per day.
D.Y. accesses the program files of the subject in particular, accessing the files of the individual through their Brain using a holographic program, skimming through the logs. When they have found what they are looking for, they will attempt to revert back the damage modifier, or insert a variable that was not previously there in order to simulate "Healing", when in reality, it's just deleting the damage from one's program, using the Mind as an additional computing power
Exert your Mind and spend 1 minute. Select a Living target within arm's reach. This Effect cannot be used unless the injury was not attained within the hour. You must actively and obviously use bi-focals to activate this Effect. Choose a specific Injury on your target that has not yet been treated with this Effect and roll Intellect + Technology at Difficulty 6.
If you succeed, the Injury is reduced in Severity by your Outcome. If you reduce its Severity to 0, the Injury is fully healed. Otherwise, it is partially healed and will heal the rest of the way at its natural rate.
This counts as a successful Makeshift Stabilization if the Injury was not already Stabilized; any Battle Scars caused by the Injury will remain.
The mutant has gained some control over their genetic instability, allowing them to trigger a mutation at will. When the need arises, their flesh warps and twists, and a new mutation manifests that is suited to whatever obstacle the mutant happens to be facing at the time.
Spend 30 minutes. You may only target yourself. The target can easily Resist.
You may add one augmentation to your target. Each augmentation counts as a Battle Scar and can have exactly one of the following Effects:
This Gift cannot have more than 3 Drawbacks, and its Gift Cost is capped at 2.
Your alteration "heals" over the course of the next month, after which it is fully cured.
All it takes is a flick of your hair and a bat of your eyelashes, and you’ve got their attention.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. A number of Sapient, Living targets within 50 feet who can perceive you through no greater than your Charisma rating are affected. Audiences or mobs with a singular focus count as one target. Roll Charisma + Performance at Difficulty 6. All affected targets may resist by rolling Mind at Difficulty 7.
If you succeed, the targets will keep their full attention focused on you for Contested Outcome in Rounds. They will automatically fail any rolls related to noticing anything other than you.
If you pass from their perception and they are unable to pursue you, the Effect ends. If they can follow you, they must do so for 2 Rounds or the Effect will end. The Effect ends early if the target is Injured or violence occurs nearby.
This does not affect the target’s opinion of you or their mood, and they may take any Actions while affected (including attacking), as long as that action centers on you. Fascinated targets cannot Concentrate.
The musician assumes a powerful stance and strums a mighty power chord on their guitar. A blast of sound waves radiate outwards, destroying all who dare face the power chord directly.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. You must actively and obviously use your instrument to activate this Effect. The area within 25 feet of you immediately and obviously becomes imminently dangerous. Roll Charisma + Performance at Difficulty 6. Targets inside the radius may attempt an appropriate Reaction at GM’s discretion. Finding a physical barrier to use as cover will cut total Damage taken in half (applies after Reaction roll but before Armor).
If the Outcome is positive, your blast hits everything within 25 feet of you with Damage equal to your Outcome + 4. If you botched the activation roll, you will also take full Damage from the blast, otherwise it will not hurt you.
You may only use this Effect once per day.
As a free creature, The Fairy cannot withstand being caged or imprisioned in any way. Luckily, they possess a glamour that allows them to unlock any lock binding them with a wink of their eye. The lock falls open with a sparkle of light and a sound like a ringing bell.
Spend an Action. Select a Non-Alien door, container, knot, or lock within arm's reach. This Effect cannot be used unless the targeted lock or door is being used to restrain or imprison you.
You may lock, unlock, and/or open your target.
The Future Soldier learned to create foam grenades in their own time period, and they still can, kinda. They look like glowing orange capsules with a rugged rubberized grip. When thrown, they burst into a splash of expanding neon orange foam. The foam hardens in seconds, severely hampering the movement of anyone unlucky enough to have been splashed. Those affected may use their hands or weapons to hack away at the foam and free themselves.
Occasionally, the fuses on these bootleg grenades fails, and they go off immediately.
Spend an Action and use up this small metallic grenade with pin (unless you succeed on 1d10, Difficulty 7). Make a thrown Attack at a Location within normal Attack range. Roll a single D10 as a critical failure check. If you roll a 1, the Effect fails, and you are hit as it activates immediately at your present location. The target may roll to dodge or Defend, as normal for thrown Attacks. The Attack itself does not deal any Damage beyond the Effect.
If you succeed, all affected targets will be restricted at their location by a physical, tangible binding. They can still move their arms and use Effects, but are reduced to ¼ of their movement speed.
The binding around a target must be destroyed in order for them to break free. Breaking the binding requires a total amount of Damage equal to twice the original Contested Outcome. Damage from multiple attacks is cumulative and stacks linearly.
