Tiny nano bugs emerge from the ring and encircle the hand of the user.
The hand is severed and rapidly transported to the site of the jump once there voxel cubes emerge from it and form the portal.
The stump from the hand bleeds out blue black voxel discharge and blood while forming into the other end of the portal.
Once the user enters the portal they are slowly dissolved into voxels and those bits are transported unseen to the other end of the portal, where the user is reconstituted block by block.
Starting with the inside organs and ending with the clothing.
Finally the hand reattaches to the stump and the portal of voxels falls to the ground discolors into blood.
The first link in what hopes to be a long chain. A single node that will hopefully ensure the creation of more nodes. Making the conceptual reality, Polamedes starts building a chain that he will use to alter the very foundations of this world. Starting small a short hop from point to point.
Expend a point of Battery and spend an Action. Select a Location which is at most 75 feet away horizontally or 15 feet away vertically. Make a Trauma roll when you activate this Effect.
You jump to the chosen location. If the landing is precarious, the GM may call for a roll to land safely. You will never take fall damage from successfully landing a jump made with this Effect.
Instead of physically passing through the air, you are teleported directly to your destination. Does not allow you to go through walls.
Anyone who witnesses you during this Effect's activation will almost certainly be disturbed to see “The user is viscerally deconstituted and reconstituted at their entry and exit point.”.
Roy strikes his cane against a surface and a set of orbiting rings appear around his target. Any attack that passes the rings seems to flicker, change direction, or sometimes even vanish entirely until appearing on the other side.
Formed from knowledge gifted to him, Roy is able to loosen the dimensional fabric around his target. Upon colliding with the rings an attack is shifted in the 4th dimension, causing their damage to be weakened or sometimes miss entirely. Objects that leave the ring's circumference return to their original state regardless of how much they shifted.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action or Reaction. Select a Animate target within 20 feet. You cannot target yourself. You must actively and obviously use cane or staff to activate this Effect. Roll Intellect + Science at Difficulty 6.
If you succeed, you create a barrier around your target, which absorbs the next Outcome + 4 Damage. Half any Damage absorbed by the barrier is reflected back to the attacker. They may attempt to Dodge or Defend using a Desperate Defense, and their Armor applies in full. The Damage reduction from the barrier is applied before Armor. You may only have 1 active barrier at a time.
You must maintain Concentration while using this Effect. The barrier will fall if you are interrupted, or if it absorbs the full amount of Damage. When a barrier falls, you cannot use this Effect again for a minimum of 2 Rounds.
Paul lifts his eye patch revealing his evil eye. Those whos receives the gaze mind falls under attack.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select a Sapient target within 20 feet. Roll Perception + occult at Difficulty 6. Affected targets may resist by rolling Mind at Difficulty 8 with a -3 dice penalty. If they are incapacitated or unconscious, they fail automatically and their Outcome is 0.
If the Contested Outcome is positive, the target takes Mind damage equal to the Contested Outcome. If you deal at least 3 Mind damage, the target will gain fear as a Trauma. This Trauma may be removed by Effects or mundane therapy, as normal. Affected targets are aware that they are being attacked and can generally tell who did it.
Crow peaks at the shinny and finds its secrets
Exert your Mind and spend a minute. Select a Shinny within arm's reach. You cannot investigate the same target more than once per hour. At the end of your investigation, roll Perception + Influence at Difficulty 6.
You learn a single specific piece of information, chosen from the following list, about your target:
This Effect is not obvious, and the only sign you are using an Effect is A faint glow of the eye. If someone suspects that an Effect was used, they must roll Perception + Alertness, Difficulty 8 to pick up on your Tell.
You cannot investigate the same target more than once per day.
Bryce can easily start fires, his flames are bright blue. Small blue flames can be seen emitting from his neck, eyes, nose and mouth.
Exert your Mind (unless you win a coin flip) and spend an Action. Select a target within 20 feet which has both fuel and oxygen available (if you are starting a new fire).
You may start or extinguish a fire as large as a fire in a residential fireplace at your target. Extinguishing a fire does not cost Exertion. You may create or extinguish fires the size of a lighter or candle flame without Exerting your Mind. Your fires require fuel and oxygen in order to continue burning.
Lighting a target on fire deals 3 Damage each Round on your turn, starting in the Round after the one in which they caught fire. This Damage is reduced by Armor, but the target’s Armor rating will be shredded by any Damage dealt, destroying material Armor once it reaches 0.
You may extinguish flames as a Reaction. This does not extend to explosives.
You may spend a Free Action on your initiative move a fire as large as a fire in a residential fireplace that is within 20 feet to another location within 20 feet. You may Exert your Mind to draw a line which a fire up to twice as large as a fire in a residential fireplace cannot cross.
The Contractor would flip the back of the cellphone and pop the cover door open, revealing the slot for a good sized battery, that he just replaces with a new one. The door is closed as he would quickly boot it up and start to use it, the screen glowing yellow as it connects to the nearby device, the screen going dimmer and dimmer until finally the hack is complete.
Exert your Mind and spend 1 minute. Select a Device within 300 feet. Does not work on Alien technology. You must use up Batteries in order to activate this Effect. Roll Intellect + Technology, with the Difficulty set by the GM depending on the security of the system you are hacking. Sapient targets can resist by rolling Mind at Difficulty 6.
If you succeed, you may issue a single command to the targeted system. This command must have a specific outcome or be a request for specific login credentials. The command you issue must be within the machine's current capabilities. For example, you cannot order a standard security camera to grow legs and walk around.
Your command does not have to take effect immediately. Instead, upon a successful Hack, you may specify a condition under which the specified command is issued or simply suspend the Command until you desire to activate it.
If your command does not require bypassing the security of the target (for example, typing on a computer that is unlocked), you do not need to Exert your Mind to activate this Effect, and activation only takes a single Action.
Your Hack cannot be reversed through mundane means for a number of hours equal to your Outcome.
When targeting non-computer devices, you may operate switches, buttons, dials, levers, and latches.
Every hack you make leaves behind Glowing Yellow Screen in the system as a personal "calling card" that informs anyone who uses the system that the hack occurred.
Once the werewolf tastes the blood of their prey, there's no escape. Those injured by the beast's claws and teeth are marked with its saliva. Their wounds smell strongly of blood, and it's only a matter of time before the werewolf returns with a vengeance to finish the kill.
This Effect activates whenever a target you have injured with your teeth or claws escapes the range of your unarmed attacks. It does not require an Action or Exertion. Select a target within arm's reach. Your target should be intuitively based on the triggering event. This Effect cannot be used unless the target is alive and bleeds.
Your target is marked with a throbbing wound that smells strongly of blood. The mark can only be discovered with a deep medical inspection or Effect. Removal inflicts a Severity 1 Injury on the target.
You are aware of the marked target's direction and distance from you. This lasts for the next month, or until either the mark is removed, or you choose to end the Effect. You can have up to 1 mark active.
You receive +2 dice to any rolls made against a marked target.
The Toon performs some sort of cartoonish act of violence. This may be handing someone a bomb, hitting someone with a cartoon mallet, burping a burp that is so noxious it melts flesh, or anything else as long as it is cartoonish.
The attack is more of a throwaway gag than a plot element, so any props or properties of the attack are incidental and disappear immediately. Animated mallets evaporate in a puff of smoke, fire does not spread, and electricity cannot power devices.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select a target within 45 feet. Roll Charisma + Performance Difficulty 6. The target may contest by rolling to Dodge or Defend as a Reaction, Difficulty 6.
If the contested Outcome is positive, the target takes that much Damage plus 4. Armor is fully effective against this damage.
The detective can learn a lot by watching someone for a minute. Each subtle detail, every unexplained stain, reveals something about where the target has been. Ocassionally, they'll drop a business card, or explain how to contact them. The detective is listening.
Exert your Mind (unless you win a coin flip) and spend a minute. Select a Sapient target within 20 feet. This Effect cannot be used unless the target does not know you're watching them. At the end of your investigation, roll Charisma + Investigation at Difficulty 6.
You learn a single specific piece of information, chosen from the following list, about your target:
The quality and specificity of information gained depends on your Outcome.
You cannot investigate the same target more than once per day.
The mad scientist produces thorium cores that can be used to upgrade tools and other devices. The core supercharges the item, increasing its quality and rendering it indestructible for a period. However, once the core runs dry, the object is rendered less useful than it was before. The core crackles with blue electricity while active.
Spend 1 Action and use up this glowing blue disk. Select a non-Alien Device within arm's reach. Cannot be used to improve Armor.
Lasts the next two hours. Your target receives 2 extra dice to all actions taken for its intended use. Attacking with an upgraded weapon grants +2 Weapon Damage instead of additional dice. While it is upgraded, the item cannot be destroyed.
After the Effect ends, any upgraded targets suffer a -2 dice penalty until they are either repaired or upgraded again.
By slowing the hands of one of their watches, the time-traveler may interrupt and slow a target's movement through time. The target appears to be moving in slow motion for the duration.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select a Animate target within 20 feet. You must actively and obviously use a watch or clock to activate this Effect. Roll Intellect + Science at Difficulty 7.
If you succeed, the target will suffer a dice penalty equal to the Outcome for the next 2 Rounds. Dice pools may be reduced all the way down to 0 by this penalty. This breaks Concentration.
You may activate this Effect as a Reaction to contest any Action a valid target is taking, reducing their Outcome by your own. Your command has no impact beyond disrupting their Action.
