Anyone getting too close to Gunnar will feel an overwhelming pressure overtake them, stemming from his intimidating physique coupled with Harun's soul's energy emanating from him. If they are alert enough they might even see his pupils resembling those of a reptile for a moment. Just taking an extended rest or Gunnar actively calming them down will help them recover and get rid of the fear clouding their mind and distracting them.
This Effect activates whenever someone enters range. It does not require an Action or Exertion. Select a Living target within 25 feet. Your target should be intuitively based on the triggering event. Roll Brawn + Occult at Difficulty 6. Your target may resist by rolling Body at Difficulty 7.
If you succeed, the target is afflicted with a Condition that causes one of the following symptoms:
The affliction can be diagnosed with a Medicine roll, and may be cured by modern medicine through treatment at a fully equipped facility. Treatment outside of a facility may stop the affliction from worsening for a day, but will not cure the underlying Condition.
This Effect is not obvious, and the only sign you are using an Effect is your eyes change into dragon eyes for a moment. If someone suspects that an Effect was used, they must roll Perception + Alertness, Difficulty 8 to pick up on your Tell.
You may cure any target you’ve afflicted at any range as a Quick Action.
This Effect ends if you are stunned, fall asleep, go unconscious, are incapacitated, die, or if your total Stress ever exceeds 5.
Your body constantly shifts and writhes as your muscle and bone reform to better suit your current physical needs. Your muscle and nerves swell to enhance your strength to superhuman levels when necessary, and your body can refine itself to grant you extremely fine motor control.
As a quick action, you can increase either your Brawn or Dexterity up to the other stat's maximum -1, reducing the other stat by the same amount.
You gain the following benefits as long as using your enhanced brawn or dex requires a quick action to activate, and sets your other stat lower by the same amount instead of raising it.
You are permanently and visibly transformed: Your body constantly shifts and writhes as your muscle and bone reform to better suit your current physical needs. You are considered to be a Sapient, Living being when targeted. Your Brawn is increased by 1 and your Dexterity is increased by 1.
You may make a Bone spike (dagger) attack without additional equipment.
The Severity of any Injury caused by Fire is increased by 2.
Baited into attacking Jason, an ethereal clone of the Master-Batter pops up to attempts to stop the hit, insulting the attacker if they do as they hit them back with a Baseball Bat. "Bonk"
You gain the following benefits at all times.
You have 4 Armor, which reduces incoming Damage. Armor from multiple sources does not stack. This Armor cannot be circumvented with Called Shots.
When you take Damage from a source which is within 5 feet, deal back as much Damage as your Armor prevented.
Aira, having fine-tuned her efficacy with her esper constructs, mainly her mental assault rifle, has caused her to be more precise with her shots and become a better shooter, a better fighter... a better esper.
You gain the following benefits as long as engaged in combat with firearms.
+2 dice to all firearms rolls.
You also gain the following effects:
The martial Artist shapes their Qi around their body to form a protective barrier, allowing them to block attacks even their reinforced body can't deal with, their Qi creating a faint glow around their body as it is used, generating an effect based on the nature of the Qi.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action to activate. Roll Brawn + Brawl at Difficulty 6.
If you succeed, you create a barrier around yourself, which absorbs the next Outcome + 2 Damage. The Damage reduction from the barrier is applied before Armor. You may only have 1 active barrier at a time.
The barrier will fall after two hours, or if it absorbs the full amount of Damage. When a barrier falls, you cannot use this Effect again for a minimum of 2 Rounds.
At anytime or at any moment, Iris can pull out her firearm to blast away her foes with a single pull of the trigger. Due to her swift movement, she can make a full dash and attack with it. Ultimately making her the best run n' gun agent.
She can also parry with her gun, either by shooting or using the gun's body. Nonetheless, this gift will aid her when the time comes.
Armed with only a gun and her own traumatic past, the only way for her to push forward is to gun down anyone that dares to obstruct her way.
She may have found her will to live.
And for that, she will fight her way back to the people that she holds dear.
I believe in you, Iris.
You gain the following benefits as long as engaged in combat with One-handed gun (Pistol).
+2 dice to all One-handed gun (Pistol) rolls.
You also gain the following effects:
The magician reaches into their hat and focuses. Inside, light wells and flows like a viscous liquid. Then, they withdraws the item of their choosing.
Exert your Mind and spend 1 minute. You must actively and obviously use a top hat to activate this Effect.
Choose an Object which could fit inside a regular backpack (up to 27 liters). It must be Non-Alien and generic. You cannot create explosives. You may create firearms.
Roll Perception + Occult to fabricate your chosen Object. The Difficulty is assigned by the GM and depends on the specificity of your chosen Object. The created item lasts 2 hours.
Nature is the beastmaster's domain. While in the wilds, they can climb trees and cliffs with ease and dash through dense underbrush that anyone else would need a machete to navigate.
You gain the following benefits at all times.
You may move easily and without a roll in any of the following situations.
You only gain the benefits of this effect if you are in an area without a human building within 300 feet.
The Vampire is able to turn one of their victims into a lesser vampire, a pale shadow of a full creature of the night but useful nonetheless. Having drained and killed their target, the Vampire performs a brief ritualistic bloodletting, wherein they spill their own blood into the target's mouth, forcing them to drink, and bonding them together as child and sire.
Shortly afterwards, the fledgling vampire will rise from death, hungry for blood and eager to serve.
Increase your sacrificial Injury's Severity by 1 and spend one minute. Select a Dead target within arm's reach that has died within the last hour. This Effect cannot be used unless you drained the target's blood while they were still alive.
Your target rises as an Animate being. The raised creature is totally mindless, with no memory of its past life or hint of its old personality. They cannot communicate. They will follow any command you speak.
The creature lasts until it dies again. It is revived at full health. Any Injuries it had in life are not accounted for when determining its penalties or progression towards re-death, though they may affect its ability to perform certain actions at GM's discretion. The raised creature must consume flesh every day or it will die again.
Raised creatures have their Abilities set to the same that they were in life. Their Charisma and Intellect are set to 1, but their Dexterity, Brawn and Perception are the same as they had in life. A raised creature cannot use any Effects.
Your revived targets deal 2 Weapon Damage with their unarmed attacks.
If you do not have a sacrificial Injury when you activate this Effect, take a new Severity-1 Injury.
Come one, come all! Stand in amazement and behold as the Fire Eater consumes a flame as if it were cotton candy! Gasp with fright as they breathe a plume of fire a great distance! And yes, ladies and gentlemen, it is quite dangerous.
Exert your Mind (unless you win a coin flip) and spend two Actions performing the following ritual: perform a fire-breathing trick. Select a target within 20 feet which has both fuel and oxygen available (if you are starting a new fire). Roll a single D10 as a critical failure check. If you roll a 1, the Effect fails, and you take a Severity-4 Injury as the fire burns your throat. You must maintain Concentration while activating this Effect, and it fails if you are interrupted.
You may start or extinguish a fire as large as a firepit's fire at your target. Extinguishing a fire does not cost Exertion. You may create or extinguish fires the size of a lighter or candle flame without Exerting your Mind. Your fires require fuel and oxygen in order to continue burning.
Lighting a target on fire deals 4 Damage each Round on your turn, starting in the Round after the one in which they caught fire. This Damage is reduced by Armor, but the target’s Armor rating will be shredded by any Damage dealt, destroying material Armor once it reaches 0.
You may extinguish flames as a Reaction. This does not extend to explosives.
The Android's skin is extremely pale, their eyes are yellow, and their body stays at room temperature. They do not bleed, and traditional medicine is ineffective at treating them. Furthermore, they may be hacked by any supernatural effect that could hack a computer.
You gain the following benefits at all times.
You are permanently and visibly transformed: you are an android, with pale skin and yellow eyes. You are considered to be a Sapient, Non-Living Computer when targeted..
You are immune to damage from cold. If cold is a substantial component of other damage you would take (e.g. falling from a great distance into a vat of liquid nitrogen), that damage is reduced by 2 (in addition to Armor)
No single organ in your body is critical for life. Called Shots do no additional Damage to you. You may perceive the world through separated body parts, take Actions with them, and reattach them by spending an Action and Exerting your Mind.
Your Injuries no longer degrade with time. You do not age naturally, and supernatural attempts to age you fail.
You cannot ignore or decrease the effects of Stress for any social rolls you make.
The Severity of any Injury caused by electricity is increased by 2.
