Harnessing a blend of cutting-edge neurochemical science, the aid of a sensory deprivation tank and deep hypnotic techniques, Oleg crafts his own unique source mutagens and neurologic tonics — volatile substances designed to prime the brain for recovery. When applied, these agents subtly rewire neural pathways, making the mind more pliable and receptive to therapeutic intervention. The healing process unfolds over several cycles of carefully monitored chemical rebalancing. Each wave of treatment gently peels away layers of trauma, gradually restoring cognitive stability and emotional resilience. Unlike traditional mental healing, Oleg's method is not an instant fix; it demands patience and trust, as the brain is coaxed to heal itself with each progressive stage.
Through this meticulous method, Oleg can alleviate deep-seated fears, shatter paralyzing guilt, and mend fractured identities, all while preserving the core self. His power does not erase memories or change personalities — it strengthens the mind’s own defenses, allowing individuals to confront their pain without being overwhelmed. The treatment isn't however, without downsides: the need for specialized facilities hinder usage in field conditions and Oleg's mutagens, derived from his own tissues and grown with source, are highly suceptible to even mild acid attacks.
Exert your Mind to activate. Select a Living target within arm's reach. Over the course of one day, your patient must communicate with you and reveal at least one of their Traumas to you, including the details of those Traumas and the circumstances of how they were acquired. After the full treatment time has elapsed, roll Charisma + Medicine at Difficulty 6.
Your target may Resist. If your treatment is successful, you may remove one of the patient's revealed Traumas without incurring any Experience cost.
Your patient is required to Target must abstain from ingesting any acid substance under the pH of 2.5 for the next month. If they violate this rule, your treatment is immediately reversed.
Once per day per target, you may choose to use this Effect to stabilize the Mind of a target within arm's reach. Treatment takes 30 seconds but will not remove any Traumas. If you are successful, restore 2 Mind damage.
Ripley sits at a high-top in corner of bustling restaurant, sipping at a mixed drink that she barely tolerates. She eyes a thin man drinking alone at the bar, reaching down to pull her talisman from her wrist and begin to thumb at it. Ripley opens her mouth to call out to the spirits clinging to the man. She shivers as the condensation on her glass frosts over, her Voice bringing the whispering spirits close...
After a minute, Ripley has finished writing a list of victims, and some of the man's darkest secrets in a small booklet...
Exert your Mind and spend a minute. Select a Sapient target within 20 feet. You must actively and obviously use Spirit Talisman to activate this Effect. At the end of your investigation, roll Perception + Occult at Difficulty 6.
You learn all the following information about your target:
The quality and specificity of information gained depends on your Outcome.
You cannot investigate the same target more than once per day.
Kerri points a laser pointer towards a target, and a cat-sized-and-shaped fire springs into life, very clearly attracted to the laser. This flame cat can also be shaped from existing fires. While the pointer is active it remains in the shape of a cat, pouncing towards the little red dot. When the laser pointer is not active, the flames return to normal.
Kerri, in her research on occult topics, spent a lot of time focusing her research on spirits and demons associated with fire. She knows enough not to mess with powerful ones, however, she discovered that all fires have individual spirits, and these spirits can be shaped and manipulated to some degree. She discovered that she can control them by treating them like cats, which in turn shapes them into the form of a cat. She is still practicing her control over this, having only recently gained this power, and is steadily learning to control bigger and bigger fires.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action to activate. Select a target within 20 feet which has both fuel and oxygen available (if you are starting a new fire). You must actively and obviously use a laser pointer to activate this Effect.
You may start a new fire as large as a fire in a residential fireplace at your target. You may create fires the size of a lighter or candle flame without Exerting your Mind. Your fires require fuel and oxygen in order to continue burning.
Lighting a target on fire deals 3 Damage per Round, starting in the Round after the one in which they caught fire. This Damage is reduced by Armor, but the target’s Armor rating will be depleted by any Damage dealt, destroying the Armor once it reaches 0.
You may extinguish flames as a Reaction. This does not extend to explosives.
You may Exert your Mind to move a fire as large as a fire in a residential fireplace that is within 20 feet to another location within 20 feet. You may Exert your Mind to draw a line which a fire up to twice as large as a fire in a residential fireplace cannot cross.

Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select a target within arm's reach which has both fuel and oxygen available (if you are starting a new fire). Roll a single d10, Difficulty 4. If you fail or botch, the Effect fails and you cannot activate it again for an hour.
You may start or extinguish a fire as large as a torch's flame at your target. You may create or extinguish fires the size of a lighter or candle flame without Exerting your Mind. Your fires require fuel and oxygen in order to continue burning.
Lighting a target on fire deals 2 Damage per Round, starting in the Round after the one in which they caught fire. This Damage is reduced by Armor, but the target’s Armor rating will be depleted by any Damage dealt, destroying the Armor once it reaches 0.
You may extinguish flames as a Reaction. This does not extend to explosives.
You may Exert your Mind to light everything within 20 feet on fire OR to extinguish and/or prevent any fires you wish within range for the next two hours. This includes explosives.
Jordan speaks one command, and briefly, a shadow of something not of this world can be sensed behind him. Something more powerful, more domineering, more worthy of fear and obeisance. His eyes glow with a color you can’t quite place on the visual spectrum, and little pebbles and rocks hover off the ground as the air grows tense. Then the tension fades, the pebbles clatter down, and the commanded creature meekly obeys, as if fearful.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select a Creature within 20 feet.
For the next day, you may issue specific commands to your target which they will be compelled to follow.
Your commands can be complex and multi-layered, though they must still be specific. You cannot make them obviously endanger themselves or violate their instinct for self-preservation. The effects of the command will fade after a day has passed.
If you use this Effect on the same Creature two days in a row, the effect lasts indefinitely.
Neth may not look it, but she's way way stronger than she looks. With the physical prowess similar to that of a Honey Badger, who doesn't look so strong or dangerous upon first glance, and with the finesse of a parkour runner, Neth leaps with her legs and soars through the air with grace. And thanks to her tough skin and sturdy interior, she can survive long falls like nothing.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action to activate. Select a Location which is at most 75 feet away horizontally or 15 feet away vertically.
You jump to the chosen location. If the landing is precarious, the GM may call for a roll to land safely. You will never take fall damage from successfully landing a jump made with this Effect.
You may activate this Effect while in free-fall, as long as your target Location is a surface on which you can land. You are immune to fall damage.
The Necromancer spits into the mouth of a recently deceased corpse. For the few minutes, the corpse's head comes back to life and speaks to the Necromancer.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select a Dead target within 50 feet. Dead targets must have died within the past week, and you must have their remains in your possession.
The target can communicate in your language for the next hour.
The mystic enters a meditation while focusing on a remote location. A glowing sigil of an eye appears on their forehead, and a ghostly image of themselves meditating appears at the location they are envisioning. For a brief period, they may see the area they are projecting to as though they were standing there.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select a target Location within 75 feet.
You may perceive things as if you were standing at that Location. The effect lasts indefinitely but you must maintain Concentration to keep it up. You cannot perceive anything at your physical location while the effect is active.
You create a visible manifestation at the Location where your senses are projected which looks like a ghostly image of yourself meditating.
Dazzle Glasses are advanced "black-tech" espionage gear. They can be styled as any sort sunglasses. When the wearer is recorded, they will quickly flash a non-visible laser into the recording device, destroying it after only a moment of footage is taken.
This Effect activates whenever you are recorded. It does not require an Action or Exertion. Select a Non-Sapient Object within 20 feet no larger than a duffel bag (35 liters). Your target should be intuitively based on the triggering event. Roll Perception + Culture Difficulty 6.
If your Outcome is 4 or higher, the target will be completely destroyed and can no longer function, though it may still be repaired. If your Outcome is less than 4, the target will be partially damaged, and any attempts to use it will suffer a dice penalty equal to your Outcome.
The Future Soldier learned to create foam grenades in their own time period, and they still can, kinda. They look like glowing orange capsules with a rugged rubberized grip. When thrown, they burst into a splash of expanding neon orange foam. The foam hardens in seconds, severely hampering the movement of anyone unlucky enough to have been splashed. Those affected may use their hands or weapons to hack away at the foam and free themselves.
Occasionally, the fuses on these bootleg grenades fails, and they go off immediately.
Spend an Action and use up this small metallic grenade with pin (unless you succeed on 1d10, Difficulty 7). Make a thrown Attack at a Location within normal Attack range. Roll a single D10 as a critical failure check. If you roll a 1, the Effect fails, and you are hit as it activates immediately at your present location. The target may roll to dodge or Defend, as normal for thrown Attacks. The Attack itself does not deal any Damage beyond the Effect.
If you succeed, all affected targets will be restricted at their location by a physical, tangible binding. They can still move their arms and use Effects, but are reduced to ¼ of their movement speed.
The binding around a target must be destroyed in order for them to break free. Breaking the binding requires a total amount of Damage equal to twice the original Contested Outcome. Damage from multiple attacks is cumulative and stacks linearly.
The mad scientist produces thorium cores that can be used to upgrade tools and other devices. The core supercharges the item, increasing its quality and rendering it indestructible for a period. However, once the core runs dry, the object is rendered less useful than it was before. The core crackles with blue electricity while active.
Spend 1 Action and use up this glowing blue disk. Select a non-Alien Device within arm's reach. Cannot be used to improve Armor.
Lasts the next two hours. Your target receives 2 extra dice to all actions taken for its intended use. Attacking with an upgraded weapon grants +2 Weapon Damage instead of additional dice. While it is upgraded, the item cannot be destroyed.
After the Effect ends, any upgraded targets suffer a -2 dice penalty until they are either repaired or upgraded again.
