Curious about joining Synthesis?

2085, the last of the human race that left Earth due to an imminent destruction of the planet. 10 million people from earth have been in cryostasis on the SS. Leviathan and the SS. Saving Grace. The ships are run by a select few engineers that come in and out of cryostasis for routine checkups every year. The rest of the crew are androids designed to perform the menial tasks of running the ship. The ships against all odds make it to there destined planet, the rest is history. The current human year is 2754, and the intergalactic warp-net created by H.J. Harris a hundred or so years ago has created a whole new existence to the human population. Danger, mystery, robots, and the endless expanse of the ever-growing warp-net, has caused a surge of explorers, pirates, and contractors all rushing to gain as much credits as their account can hold.

Full Setting Description

In 2085, the last of the human race left Earth due to imminent destruction of the planet. 10 million people from the earth have been in cryostasis on the SS. Leviathan and the SS. Saving Grace. The ships are run by a select few engineers that come in and out of cryostasis for routine checkups every year. The rest of the crew are androids designed to perform the menial tasks of running the ship. The ships, against all odds, made it to their destined planet. The rest is history. The current human year is 2754, and the intergalactic warp-net created by H.J. Harris, a hundred or so years ago, has created a whole new existence for the human population. Danger, mystery, robots, and the endless expanse of the ever-growing warp-net has caused a surge of explorers, pirates, and contractors all rushing to gain as many credits as their accounts can hold.

The first solar system that humans arrived at was solar system 101. This system was ground zero for the Intergalactic Warp-Net or IWN for short. The intelligent beings that inhabited this system were the Tukali Tribes. They were a civilization that was split into warring tribes. The humans after having a rough landing quickly got stuck in the fray. A ten years war ensued between the humans, allied with the Huan tribe, a group of rebels and refugees, and the oppressive and tyrannical Julian tribe. The Allied forces prevailed and the alliance between the Huan and the humans rose to power on the world. Here the humans worked with the Huan tribe to create the IWN. The IWN is made up of a massive disk that is set to orbit a planet in each system that it occupies. Each ship that has a Warp drive can tune into a specific IWN disk that they wish to travel to. Then after flying close to the disk, the vessel will enter the warp net and come out at the other disk.

The IWN, as of the current day, covers up to 24 solar systems. Although life can be found on vessels and spaceports all over the systems, only 7 have habitable planets. However, new systems are being founded every couple of years. The Lightseekers are the main group of explorers that venture out into unknown systems to make money collecting data. To travel to these systems without the IWN takes a very expensive piece of equipment that they hold very close to themselves. Only a few have escaped their grasp and now float around the black market as legendary items. A couple of organizations have tried to replicate it to no success. The black market is mainly controlled by the Dark Rollers. This rag-tag group of crimelords and corrupt politicians control an entire black market and even have their very own planet that was made in the middle of a stationary asteroid field in system 107.
The Dark Rollers' are always on the run from the Intergalactic Federation of Justice, or the IFJ for short. The IFJ is an organization that has a presence in every system except 107.

The contracts of this world should reflect the organizations and worlds that are all in constant motion. Will your players be doing contracts for one of the highest-ranking members of the Dark Rollers, or maybe they are sweeping up criminal scum for the IFJ. They could be helping a planet start and finish a revolution, or they could be exploring the vast amount of new solar systems for the LIghtseekers. The possibilities are endless.
