(The) Exclusion Zone is a twisted version of the Eastern European, and Balkan region, and a grim result of the many years of events leading up to the dark days and later founding of the Exclusion Zone, by the U.N and E.U. No one really knows what happened during the dark days, yet many fear what is to come after the events. The entire region was cut off from the rest of the world by a giant wall constructed about 5 years after the incidents.

Full Setting Description

The Exclusion Zone

The years of 2013-2014 mark the start of these events, strange happenings in the Eastern-European and Balkan regions of the continent. Many of these events were sightings of creatures, or even "ancient gods" in the forests and hills of the rural landscapes in the European countryside.

In the spring of 2015, a week of madness became known as the "Bad Days" saw both governmental and societal collapse, along with mass death and illness, and even sightings of a large skeleton like creature standing over the land. The exact cause of the Bad Days is unknown yet many speculate about its causes.

Only a year after the Bad Days the U.N decided to reinforce a Exclusion Zone, prohibiting anyone enter or leave the area. In the Fall of 2017, they finished the "Great Barrier", a giant series of fences, trenches, and other barricades to secure the area.

In these parts, the supernatural is very common, a good amount of it is malicious, and should be avoided, as their abilities are unknown and unpredictable.

Though many in this region see their situation as hopeless, some still remain faithful, in the areas around poland, many are Catholicm, usually around these parts most are Orthodox. In some parts of the balkans there are many muslims, and in the northen regions close to Estonia, many are non-religious. In the Ukraine, Gnosticism has started to have a strange revival in recent years.
