Cole Richter's Questionnaire

1. What town or city do you live in? Why do you live there instead of anywhere else? Describe your home.

Link Answered before Cole Richter's first Contract.

After accidentally murdering his parents as a child, he was sent to live with his aunt in Alaska. After all but entirely closing his mind off to the outside world, his aunt sent him to temporarily live in a remote Alaskan village, in an attempt to help Cole find himself. Cole remained emotionally cut off, however the plan worked to an extent. Instead of shutting himself inside his room for weeks at a time, he spent those weeks outside the village, enjoying the solitude in nature.

Upon turning 18, Cole's cousin, due to a feeling of duty to Cole's parents and out of pity for what Cole's been through, helped get him started at University of Alaska, Anchorage. Cole now lives alone in student housing there.

2. How do you get your money right now? What do you spend it on?

Link Answered before Cole Richter's first Contract.

Cole inherited a modest amount of money from his parents after their death. Due to his remote style of living, he didn't have much to spend it on. He has left most of the money untouched due to a lack of need for it, and an overwhelming feeling of guilt. After all, he's the reason his parents died, who would he be to waste the money left behind as a result of this.

Although initially hesitant, he's put a portion of the money into college, due to his Aunt's wishes.

Cole does not like spending his money unless necessary, and lives very modestly, with not many possessions outside of the necesessities.

3. Describe your Ambition. What are you striving for? How far would you go to achieve this? Would you kill for it? How close to death would you come for it?

Link Answered before Cole Richter's first Contract.

Cole's ambition ultimately comes from a selfish desire to prove to himself that he's not a monster. Due to his past trauma, Cole refuses to kill, as that would only make him worse. Cole has a strong will to live until he can prove himself, however if he can die doing so, he believes it may be a peaceful rest. Cole doesn't know exactly what he needs to do to correct his mistake, and is still searching for the answer. He want's to do good, but good is a fuzzy line to him, and he's going to need to do alot of what he considers "good" to find peace. Cole is especially scared of causing pain to other people, and would much rather protect than harm.

4. What was the most defining event of your life (before signing The Contract), and how did it change you?

Link Answered before Cole Richter's first Contract.

When Cole was 9 years old, his home in North Texas was broken into in the middle of the night. A standard burglary, in and out, motivated by money. Cole awoke in the middle of the night, parched, and went to the kitchen for water. Seeing the intruders, Cole panicked, and started making a lot of noise. One of the thieves drew a gun on Cole, telling him he'd shoot if he didn't show up. The thief didn't want to kill a child, and it was mostly a bluff. The noise however awoke his parents, who rushed into the kitchen to witness the horrible scene of your own child being held at gunpoint. Cole's father also had his handgun in his hand. The thief panicked, and shot his father in the leg.

Overwhelmed with a mess of stress, fear, and anger, Cole's power reached the surface for the first time.

Cole froze everything in the kitchen, the floor, walls, ceiling, appliances, everything but the people. Cole was not in control of this power however, and in a fit of rage shattered all the ice, creating a razor sharp storm of fragmented ice. The storm killed the thieves, and his parents, and injured Cole to the point of falling unconscious.

When authorities arrived to the scene, Cole was taken to the hospital. Nobody knew what really happened, and the tragedy made news. Cole was labeled the lucky survivor of supernatural attack. Cole was showered with pity by those around him, and it only killed him more. Cole felt he didn't deserve the pity, but could never tell anybody the truth, in fear he'd be labeled a monster.
