Hana Flowerfall's Questionnaire

1. What town or city do you live in? Why do you live there instead of anywhere else? Describe your home.

Link Answered before Hana Flowerfall's first Contract.

"Is this another test, sir?"

Treat it as it is, child.

"Yes, sir.  I live in Living Cylinder 1, with my father.  In the command section.   I live there because... um.."

Go on.

"My father and my mother had a falling out."

Your father had the Enforcers eject her from medical.  It was an incident.

"Yes, sir."

Go on.

"It's a nice home, sir. Um.  As homes go.  It's in the officer area, so... we have a bit more space than most.  It's a nice area.  Safe.  I have my own bedroom.  I think my father is getting pressured to take another partner to use the space, but... until then it's nice..."

2. How do you get your money right now? What do you spend it on?

Link Answered before Hana Flowerfall's first Contract.

"I have an allowance from my father, and in case of emergency he's entrusted me with a spending card tied to one of the Command accounts... although I have to justify to him if I ever use it.  So I never do, except in that one case where there was a civil disturbance and I really had to get home.  But he told me to use it in that case.   My allowance is pretty good, though.  I think he's trying to teach me the value of money, though."

"I spend it on a lot of things for school and practice and stuff.  My father encourages me to have a lot of hobbies and such..."

3. Describe your Ambition. What are you striving for? How far would you go to achieve this? Would you kill for it? How close to death would you come for it?

Link Answered before Hana Flowerfall's first Contract.

"My ambition is to the ship, her crew, and the mission.  I will do my part to see us to the Final Destination."

Is that your ambition, or your father's?

"Mine.  His too, but also mine.  I.. I know what we have to do.  I know that the ship keeps us alive, and that if the ship fails we all die.  And I know our purpose is to get to the Final Destination, to find a new home.  I do not believe I will be alive to see it, but I know that, if I want my descendent to have a chance of seeing it, I will need to do my part.  I will... I'd rather not do either, honestly.  But I will if someone leaves me no choice."

Big words, child.

4. What was the most defining event of your life (before signing The Contract), and how did it change you?

Link Answered before Hana Flowerfall's first Contract.

"That one is easy enough.  And it's not even something I had a say in."

There's a short pause, and Hana lets out a breath.

"My mother choosing to modify me in the womb, obviously.  It.. changed everything.  I could have been normal." There's a little bit of stress on that word.  "But I'm not.  It feels like everything is just... harder than it has to be, now.  My mom says I'm special.  ...So does my father, but I think it means something else when he says it.  But like... when I'm in the classroom, I'm different.  And I don't fit in a normal suit, and... yeah.  I sorta wish I was normal.  But instead I get to be special."

5. Name and briefly describe three people in your life. One must be the person you are closest to.

Link Answered before Hana Flowerfall's first Contract.

My father:  I'm closest to my father.  David Flowerfall.  He's raised me, and... well, it's just me and him in our home.  He puts a lot of pressure me, but.. it's for the best.  He just has high standards.  I know he means well, though.  He makes sure that I have high standards for myself, too.

My mother:  My mother, June Flowerfall,  is... I don't know.  I have an awkward relationship with her. My father is still angry at her, but he doesn't yell at her when I'm around. Or when we're in public.  Normally.  Just when he thinks I'm not listening.  Always weird to think that father took my mother's last name and then had such a falling out and kept it...

My tutor: Hank.  He's nice enough? He does his best to teach me to be a good member of Command when I grow up.  What I need to do for the Ship.
