Circumstances describe your situation.
Examples include enemies, wealth, notoriety, social status, contacts, fame, and imprisonment.
Because each Playgroup has its own setting, Circumstances record the Playgroup they were acquired in.
Conditions describe your state of being.
Examples of Conditions include curses, diseases, and impactful personality quirks.
Conditions are granted by Assets and Liabilities or by GMs based on the events of Contracts and Downtime activities like Moves, and Loose Ends.
Because Conditions may have GM-created systems, they also record the Playgroup they were acquired in.
Loose Ends will cause problems for you if you don't tie them up.
Examples of Loose Ends include enemies, debts, evidence, and promises.
All Loose Ends have a Cutoff that counts down each time you attend a Contract. When it hits zero, the Threat of your Loose End manifests, causing issues for your Contractor.
You cannot see the current values of your Loose Ends' Cutoffs, but you can take initiative and make Moves on your Downtimes to deal with them before time runs out.

Gaius is the most recent in a long line of struggling necromancers. Since the middle ages all of the past magics of the Cadere family have dried up and become unusable. The family has since been in a never ending struggle to revive the old magics and return necromancy to prominence. Within the last few decades more and more outlandish creatures have emerged that seem to make the families desires more realistic. Still the family has been on hard times for a number of years and the once bountiful coffers are now running dry. Many of them have had to take mundane jobs.
Gaius is an actuarial scientist. A fancy term for good at knowing when people are going to die. He works at an insurance agency reviewing freak events and the likelihood of them occurring again.
He is a thin reedy man that avoids the sun and is in poor health from bad diet and lack of exercise. He lives in his family estate that has been encroached on by city life. It's a multigenerational home with both Gaius parents, grandparents and several cousin branches living there. It's loud, old and cramped.
Gaius wants to revive necromancy as he sees it as a worthwhile cause, but he would like to do it in the furtherance of life more so then in lording over the power of death. He has hidden these desires from his family at large.
