Actions

Attack with your weapon or hands.
Evade by rolling to Defend or Dodge. Your Outcome is "spent" to reduce the Outcome of any incoming attacks until your next Action.
Activate a Power or use an Ability as normal.
Hold your Action by declaring an Action and a triggering event. If the event occurs before your turn on the next Round, you perform the Action.

Reactions

Dodge by rolling Dexterity + Athletics ( dice) Difficulty 6. Your Outcome is subtracted from the attacker's.
Defend with your weapon by rolling its attack roll. Your Outcome is subtracted from the attacker's. Availability depends on weapon match-up (tap/hover).
Clash with the attacker using the same roll you would use to Defend. The higher Outcome (not contested) is treated as the result of a successful, undefended attack roll against the loser.

Desperate Defense

If you have already used your Action, you may Exert your Mind to perform a Reaction. Your next Round's Action receives a -2 dice penalty. You cannot Clash as a Desperate Defense.

Will to Survive

Once per Contract, you may reduce the severity of an incoming Injury up to 4 Severity levels (to a minimum of Severity 4). You take a point of Mind damage and suffer a Major Battle Scar that lingers after the Injury is healed, even with proper Stabilization.

If an attack's Outcome is positive after defense, it results in a new Injury with Severity = Outcome + Weapon damage - Armor

An Outcome of 1 or greater will Stabilize the Injury and stop its degradation.
Complete success (Outcome 4+) puts the Injury on track to heal clean: its Battle Scar heals with it.
Failed attempts can be retried at +1 Difficulty per failure.
On a Botch, the Injury's Severity increases by 1.

Makeshift Stabilization

Attempt a major treatment using insufficient or improvised medical equipment.

Any positive Outcome (1+) will Stabilize the Injury and stop its degradation.
However, any Outcome less than 4 increases the Injury’s Severity by 1. Botches also worsen its Battle Scar.

Failed attempts can be retried at +1 Difficulty per failure.

Biography

Danny Kalypso, a native of Reno, Nevada, found himself uprooted to Las Vegas after his reputation took a hit. Now residing in the bustling streets of Vegas, Danny operates under the alias "Mr. Moolah," running an underground casino, "The Lucky Smile", tucked away in the basement of Dragon Noodles, a Chinese takeout joint. Sleeping in the office and scavenging water from the restaurant upstairs, Danny scrapes by, determined to draw in unsuspecting visitors to exploit their wealth.

His modus operandi involves targeting wealthy vacationers, enticing them with alcohol and companionship while employing shady tactics like weighted dice and rigged games to maximize profits. While most of his earnings are reinvested into his casino and personal indulgences, he also sends financial support to his mother in Reno and his accomplice, Nathan.

Driven by a thirst for power and wealth, Danny has ambitions of becoming the city's preeminent casino magnate. Unafraid to resort to manipulation or violence to achieve his goals, he maintains his charm while concealing a darker side. His past includes a deadly encounter in Reno, where he was forced to defend himself, leaving a man dead and a warrant in his name. He is still running from his past, but refuses to change his ways.
