Jacqueline, to put it simply, grew up dirt poor. With a heroin addicted mother and a drunkard of a father, life skills were never taught to her by the people who should've. For this, she detested her parents, moreso her mother. Her father was just a sad drunk, who felt like he'd completely, and irreparably, ruined his life with a wife he didn't love and a child who he can't bring himself to love. He killed himself around Jacqueline's 10th birthday. As for her mother, she was aggressive, and hateful. She treated Jacqueline like a chore to be around, or to take care of. Jacqueline would recieve a small amount of money every week from the age of 8, and was told to buy her own food, and take care of stuff around the house.

And so she did. Running errands every weekend, cleaning the house, cleaning the dishes, along other basic chores, as her mother did nothing but sit idly by enjoying her neverending high.

Once Jacqueline had hit middle school, she'd made a few friends. Friends that shecreated a bond through equally-shitty home situations they were all in. The names of her friends were Helena, Ronnie, and Marley. Common practice for the four friends was to visit the nearby drainage canal, with cigarettes Marley would get from her older brother.

She grew fond of smoking, especially with her friends. A part of her, though, felt horrible for what she thought was 'turning into her mother'. She'd supress those feelings, though, as hanging out with those people were one of the biggest joys to her life.

The friend she'd grown closest to, though, was Helena. Late at night, she'd ring up Jacqueline to hang by the same canal and show her new things she learned on the guitar. Jacqueline soon grew an interest in the instrument, too, and Helena would give her lessons everytime she learned something new.

For Jacqueline's 14th birthday, now in highschool, Helena had gotten Jacqueline a guitar of her own. It was one she'd been saving up for for a while now, clearly, seeing as it's a decently priced acoustic guitar.

Jacqueline, of course, was unbelievably grateful. She now began practicing at home, to no appreciation from her mother, of course. The practice'd been going well, all things considered. Four years of total practice, one with her own guitar, she was pretty confident in it. Confident enough to where Helena and Jacqueline had serious talks about starting a band.
