A 1-Victory Newbie Contractor played by Metal in Realm of Mysteries

Tia is a factory seamstress machine operator who will risk her life to become the ultimate -unselected- and return the planet to its natural, pristine state.

She is 24 years old, lives in a listing apartment in the Slums, and often appears as a haggard, grease covered woman with dirty spectacles and a brown curly mousehead of hair wearing factory rags.

Tia lives in Realm of Mysteries, a setting the mystical lurks around every corner in plain sight but hidden.

You get one Movement and one Action on your turn every Round of Combat.

Movement

Movement is taken immediately before OR after your Action. It cannot be split.
You may Free Move (0) feet. Minimum 5 feet.
You may Dash up to an additional (0 feet).
- Dashing penalizes your Action -1 die per 5 feet.
All-out Sprint: instead of using free Movement or Dash, you may spend your Action and roll Brawn + Athletics ( dice) Difficulty 6. You move (0 + (Outcome x 5) Feet).

Actions

Attack with your weapon or hands.
Evade by rolling to Defend or Dodge. Your Outcome is "spent" to reduce the Outcome of any incoming attacks until your next Action.
Activate a Power or use an Ability as normal.
Hold your Action by declaring an Action and a triggering event. If the event occurs before your turn on the next Round, you perform the Action.

If you have not yet spent your Action this Round, you may use it as a Reaction.

Reactions

Dodge by rolling Dexterity + Athletics ( dice) Difficulty 6. Your Outcome is subtracted from the attacker's.
Defend with your weapon by rolling its attack roll. Your Outcome is subtracted from the attacker's. Availability depends on weapon match-up (tap/hover).
Clash with the attacker using the same roll you would use to Defend. The higher Outcome (not contested) is treated as the result of a successful, undefended attack roll against the loser.

Desperate Defense

If you have already used your Action, you may Exert your Mind to perform a Reaction. Your next Round's Action receives a -2 dice penalty. You cannot Clash as a Desperate Defense or React more than once to a given Action.

Will to Survive

Once per Contract, you may reduce the severity of an incoming Injury up to 5 Severity levels (to a minimum of Severity 5). You also take a point of Mind Damage and suffer a Battle Scar as normal.

If an attack's Outcome is positive after defense, it results in a new Injury with Severity = Outcome + Weapon damage - Armor

Injuries Severity 4+ cause a Battle Scar or Equipment destruction and always require Stabilization

Stabilization is the Injury's main treatment, and each Injury can only be successfully Stabilized once

Unstabilized Injuries worsen by 1 Severity level every half hour

Proper Stabilization

Requires an advanced first aid kit for Severity 4 Injuries, a surgery setup for Severity 5 Injuries, and a surgery theater for Severity 6+ Injuries.

Roll Intellect + Medicine, Difficulty equal to Severity

An Outcome of 1 or greater will Stabilize the Injury and stop its degradation.
Outcome 4+ puts the Injury on track to heal clean: its Battle Scar heals with it.
On a Botch, the Injury's Severity increases by 1.
Failed or Botched attempts may be re-attempted at +1 Difficulty per failure.

Makeshift Stabilization

Attempt a major treatment using insufficient or improvised medical equipment.

Roll Intellect + Medicine, Difficulty > Severity

(Difficulty based on materials and tactics used)

Outcome 1+ will Stabilize the Injury and stop its degradation.
However, any Outcome less than 4 increases the Injury’s Severity by 1. Botches also worsen its Battle Scar if it caused one.
Regardless of Outcome, any Battle Scars caused by the Injury will persist after it is fully healed.
Failed or Botched attempts may be retried at +1 Difficulty per failure.

Self-stabilization attempts are rolled at +1 Difficulty.

Biography

Tia lives in the slums and works at the Thread Factory. She had a family, once, but they passed away. The lung sickness. So Tia moved factories, from the Coal Plant to the Thread Factory, finding work as a lowly machine seamstress. She witnessed firsthand the horrors of industrialization, as other young women would often face accidents in the factory (a crushed hand, a thread woven through the arm, a sickness from the choking oil the spinning machines consume) and not return to their families. For now, Tia has survived. She thinks she will likely die here.

But if she could make a difference. If she could get out and above this Factory. She would acquire power, and wealth like the nobles. Until the day she could rid factories and their choking haze off the Earth. Maybe mankind too. After all, what have people ever been but another pollutant?

Tia thinks that the planet ought to return to its original, pristine state. Before people were ever around. The age of machines was a mistake. The damage to the planet self evident. Someone needs to wipe the slate clean and burn the human sickness off its face, and she means to be the one to do it.

At least in her inner dreams, the secret dreams of a quite possibly insane factory girl.
