Charlotte takes a deep couple of deep inhales from the nose, almost as if she was smelling something off. At the same time her other senses flair, her eyes widen, her ears twitch, all things that make her completely take in the target, to follow their trail, or to observe them medically by taking in the minute sounds of their heartbeat, the scents of tumors or chemical imbalances, or just to observe signs of potentially infection.
Exert your Mind and spend a minute to activate. Select a Sapient target within 20 feet. You may select a target at any range if you use up something that has been worn or used by the target to the point of having the scent of the target. You cannot investigate the same target more than once per hour. At the end of your investigation, roll Perception + Animals at Difficulty 6.
You learn a single specific piece of information, chosen from the following list, about your target:
The quality and specificity of information gained depends on your Outcome.
He doodles a sketch, one that to him is himself, but can be a symbolic reflection. He can spend as much time on it as he likes, but at minimum, it's enough strokes to imply a face.
The face's eyes will move, and occasionally the head itself will turn. It also is animated for other actions, gazing around the room, yawning, laughing silently or biting it's lip. (It is also animated as it is destroyed, visually dying and leaving a 'drawn corpse' or remains, bleeds and so on.
To access the "recording" he can draw the exact image again and ask it what it saw.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select a Location within 10 feet.
You place a ward, which is fixed to its initial location. You can hear and see through the ward as though you were standing at its location. You may have at most 1 wards active at once.
The ward requires Concentration to monitor, though it will remain active until you deactivate it. The presence of the Ward is obvious to anyone being watched by it, and it can be destroyed by mundane means.
You may declare a condition to watch for on an active Ward. If it occurs, you may roll Perception + Alertness, Difficulty 6, to notice it, even if you are not actively monitoring that ward.
Your Ward records all activity it observes, regardless of whether or not you are actively monitoring it. This recording can be played back and referenced later.
Filler
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select a Sapient target within arm's reach. If a target does not consent to the transfer, you must roll Mind at Difficulty 6 to use the effect on them. They can resist by rolling either Body or Mind at Difficulty 6, depending on what you are attempting to transfer to them.
You may choose one each of as many things as you like from the following to transfer from your target to yourself, or from yourself to them:
Anyone who witnesses you during this Effect's activation will almost certainly be disturbed to see fill.
Whenever you transfer an Injury, it's Severity increases by 1. Whenever you transfer Mind damage or Traumas, the recipient takes an additional Mind damage.
Possession of this Power grants the following Battle Scar: fill and fill.
Possession of this Power grants the following Trauma at all times: fill and fill.
When Guppy stabs or sews into someone with this needle, the victim's body will begin to be replaced by plush and their innards replaced with stuffing. Effectively, this Injure power turns people into dolls. If someone is fully turned into a doll, they are dead.
Guppy was standing all alone in an alleyway. No, not alone. There was a man in front of him with a grim smile on his face. Guppy didn't know the man, but he was reaching his hand out to the child. In fear, Guppy took the small needle in his pocket and stabbed the man's hand. The man cried out as the arm began to shrink down, flesh turning to polyester, muscles and blood to stuffing. The man tries to run, but Guppy is the new holder of that grim smile. He stabs the man's leg, turning that into plush as well. The man falls over onto the concrete, screaming and begging for help and for the child to stop. Guppy happily obliged to stop the pain by pricking the needle into the man's neck. It only took a few more seconds before Guppy was out of the alleyway with a tiny little dinosaur doll in tow.
Spend an Action to activate. Select a Living target within arm's reach. You must actively and obviously use a sewing needle to activate this Effect. Roll Dexterity + Legerdemain Difficulty 6. The target may contest by rolling to Dodge or Defend as a Reaction, Difficulty 6.
If the contested Outcome is positive, the target takes that much damage plus 3. Armor is fully effective against this damage.
Injuries caused by this Effect do not heal naturally. They can be Stabilized, but will not reduce in Severity unless they are healed through an Effect or some sort of supernatural ability.
If the target takes damage from this Effect, they will receive at least a Minor Battle Scar regardless of the Severity of their Injury. The specifics of the scar are up to GM's discretion.
This Gift's Cost is capped at 2 and cannot be increased further.
Build up Air Pressure before releasing it launching yourself into the sky
Exert your Mind and spend an Action to activate. Select a Location which is at most 50 feet away horizontally or 10 feet away vertically.
You jump to the chosen location. If the landing is precarious, the GM may call for a roll to land safely. You will never take fall damage from successfully landing a jump made with this Effect.
You may activate this effect while in free-fall, as long as your target Location is a surface on which you can land.
Phos's alchemical symbols on her arm surge with power as the elements flow into the sigil she is focusing them into, appearing below or around the target, depending on location, mirroring the sigil exactly.
Sadly due to the nature of her learning her abilities, she mistakenly transmutated away her two left most fingers on her left hand.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select a Non-Sapient Object or piece of an Object or structure within arm's reach no larger than a large luggage bag (75 liters). You must actively and obviously use Transmutation Sigil to activate this Effect. You cannot target objects which are currently in someone else’s possession. Roll Intellect + Occult Difficulty 6.
If your Outcome is 4 or higher, the target will be completely destroyed and can no longer function, though it may still be repaired. If your Outcome is less than 4, the target will be partially damaged, and any attempts to use it will suffer a dice penalty equal to your Outcome.
When activating this Effect, you may spend an extra minute and maintain Concentration. If you do, it has no Exertion cost, and you may destroy an object which has up to 3x larger dimensions, or up to 27x larger volume than the normal maximum size.
If you have access to the remains of an object you had previously damaged or destroyed, you may spend an Action to un-destroy it.
Possession of this Power grants the following Battle Scar: Transmutation Accident.
The mobster presents a reasoned, logical case to the target: there's a lot of dangerous folks out there, and only they can offer safety... for a price.
If they agree, they will pay the mobster a monthly fee for protection. If they stop making their payments... well, let's just say, the mobster can't be held responsible for any unsavory types that might pay them a visit.
This Effect cannot be used unless you are making a deal to exchange money for protection.
You may make an oath with a physically-present, Sapient target. Communicate the oath's terms to the target, including the requirements and penalties for each participant. If all agree to the terms, you must Exert your Mind and all participants must shake hands to seal the deal.
Record the oath as a Condition. If a party breaks the oath, the Condition ends and they suffer the oath's penalty.
When crafting your oath, you may incorporate any of the following penalties:
The target cannot be compelled to agree via a direct threat of violence, another Effect, or another oath. If you would like to use clever wording to mislead the target, you must succeed a contested Intellect + (Culture or Influence) roll.
The psychic can reach into another's' mind and pilfer their deepest memories. Doing so causes the psychic's nose to bleed and is exceptionally draining.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select a Living, Animate target within 25 feet. You must maintain Concentration while the effect is active. Roll Intellect + Investigation at Difficulty 6. The target may resist by rolling Mind at Difficulty 6.
If you succeed, you are able to view your target's memories. If you fail, the target knows you're attempting to read their memories.
You may ask a number of specific questions about their memory equal to your Contested Outcome. For example, “what is their computer password,” “What were they doing at 4:00PM yesterday,” etc. You cannot get answers to broad, analytical questions like “are they a good person?” or “what are their plans for the future?”
Each memory takes as long to read as it takes to answer the question. When replaying a full memory, it is replayed in double time.
This Effect is not obvious, and the only sign you are using an Effect is your nose bleeding. If someone suspects that an Effect was used, they must roll Perception + Alertness, Difficulty 8 to pick up on your Tell.
After this Effect ends, you cannot move quicker than a walk (15 feet per Round) for one minute and suffer a -1 dice penalty for an hour.
The Vampire is able to turn one of their victims into a lesser vampire, a pale shadow of a full creature of the night but useful nonetheless. Having drained and killed their target, the Vampire performs a brief ritualistic bloodletting, wherein they spill their own blood into the target's mouth, forcing them to drink, and bonding them together as child and sire.
Shortly afterwards, the fledgling vampire will rise from death, hungry for blood and eager to serve.
Increase your sacrificial Injury's Severity by 1 and spend one minute. Select a Dead target within arm's reach that has died within the last hour. This Effect cannot be used unless you drained the target's blood while they were still alive.
Your target rises as an Animate being. The raised creature is totally mindless, with no memory of its past life or hint of its old personality. They cannot communicate. They will follow any command you speak.
The creature lasts until it dies again. It is revived at full health. Any Injuries it had in life are not accounted for when determining its penalties or progression towards re-death, though they may affect its ability to perform certain actions at GM's discretion. The raised creature must consume flesh every day or it will die again.
Raised creatures have their Abilities set to the same that they were in life. Their Charisma and Intellect are set to 1, but their Dexterity, Brawn and Perception are the same as they had in life. A raised creature cannot use any Effects.
Your revived targets deal 2 Weapon Damage with their unarmed attacks.
If you do not have a sacrificial Injury when you activate this Effect, take a new Severity-1 Injury.
The aristocrat knows a ritual that allows them to rent the best version of any item. They set $10,000 worth of cash on fire and place the item to be upgraded in the fire as well. While in the flame, the item morphs into a high-end version of itself. After a while, it reverts.
Exert your Mind and spend a minute. Select a non-Alien Device within arm's reach. You must use up $10,000 cash (or equivalent) in order to activate this Effect. Cannot be used to improve Armor.
Lasts the next two hours. Your target receives 3 extra dice to all actions taken for its intended use. Attacking with an upgraded weapon grants +3 Weapon Damage instead of additional dice.
As a free creature, The Fairy cannot withstand being caged or imprisioned in any way. Luckily, they possess a glamour that allows them to unlock any lock binding them with a wink of their eye. The lock falls open with a sparkle of light and a sound like a ringing bell.
Spend an Action. Select a Non-Alien door, container, knot, or lock within arm's reach. This Effect cannot be used unless the targeted lock or door is being used to restrain or imprison you.
You may lock, unlock, and/or open your target.
