A manifestation of the user's regret and shame, per the Maddening on Umbra's Spite, is cultivated and weaponized. It pools from the hands and infests the next shot in the chamber of the gun. It wraps around, subsumes, and completely coats the round until it's barely recognizable- only as a silhouette of its former self.
The bullet becomes so changed that it will no longer be capable of dealing damage, but instead becomes a compressed round of pure emotion. When it hits a target, that emotion suddenly rushes directly into the target's mind, projecting one or more of the user's regrets, shames, and most disappointing moments. The sheer quantity of information overloads the brain or processing center and forces it to essentially reboot, temporarily forcing a few moments of paralysis in which the target is unable to move or resist.
Regrets Include: the creation of Umbra, the multiple times she's been kidnapped, etc.
Shames Include: having to cover herself in shit to shield her scent from hunting dogs, being kidnapped by Paula and stuffed in her trunk, etc
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select a Living or Animate target within 300 feet. Roll Perception + Firearms at Difficulty 6. Affected targets may resist by rolling Body at Difficulty 6.
If you succeed, your target becomes drowsy for the next 3 Rounds, during which time they suffer an additional -2 dice Penalty to all Actions. At the end of their drowsiness, they fall into a state of sleep paralysis for Outcome x 3 rounds. During this time, they remain fully conscious and aware of their surroundings but are incapable of taking any actions.
Sleeping targets will not prematurely wake up on their own, but may still be woken up by sudden loud noises, being jarred or splashed with water, taking Damage, or similar rousing events. They will also awaken before dying of hunger, thirst, or suffocation. Drowsy targets always fall asleep, regardless of what happens while they are drowsy.
An affected target's dreams while they are asleep will involve you in some way, and will reveal you as the source of their sleep as well as reveal secret information about yourself to them.
Anyone who witnesses you during this Effect's activation will almost certainly be disturbed to see an unfavorably presented echo of the user's past. The user may be able to control how this power interacts with their target, but the runoff that results from firing this weapon always has a random negative effect on those unseasoned in the supernatural world. Anyone that witnesses this power activation will very briefly gain a context-less supposition of the user forcefully downloaded into their head based on the user's regrets and shames. For example, if the user once had to kill a child for whatever reason (even if it was completely justified), normal passersby will gain an impression of that knowledge (typically a biased one against the user) and will tend to react negatively toward them; usually with fear, outrage, or disappointment. This impression can take the form of memory flashes or may simply manifest as inexplicable emotional sensation.
When Ren really wants to know something, he can find it out anyway. He starts talking into a Polaroid Photograph that shows blank and thinks of the person in mind, once he has said what he wants to know he rips it and now he knows. He knows it all.
(Uses Photography roll)
Spend three Actions performing the following ritual: Talking Into a Polaroid Film. Select a Sapient target within 20 feet. You must use up Polaroid Film in order to activate this Effect. You must maintain Concentration while activating this Effect, and it fails if you are interrupted. At the end of your investigation, roll Perception + Alertness at Difficulty 6.
You learn all the following information about your target:
The quality and specificity of information gained depends on your Outcome.
This Gift's Cost is capped at 2 and cannot be increased further.
The user shoves a memory card in the camera as they take a picture of the area they plan on blowing up, and a very poorly edited explosion appears in that area, looking cropped and trimmed with a green screen effect. the explosion works as normal, this causes the memory card to burn up and fall out of the camera, no longer useful.
Funnily enough the green screen explosion doesn't make things burn though because it quite literally isn't even real.
Expend a point of Battery and spend an Action. Select a Location no further than 40 feet from you and in your line of sight. You must use up memory card in order to activate this Effect. The area within 25 feet of the chosen Location immediately and obviously becomes imminently dangerous. Roll Charisma + Influence at Difficulty 6. Targets inside the radius may attempt an appropriate Reaction at GM’s discretion. Finding a physical barrier to use as cover will cut total Damage taken in half (applies after Reaction roll but before Armor).
If the Outcome is positive, your blast hits everything within 25 feet of the chosen Location with Damage equal to your Outcome + 4.
Damage spreads to targets beyond the edge of the initial radius, decreasing by 2 Damage for every 5 feet traveled. For the next 3 Rounds following the initial blast, this Effect will deal a new blast of damage to any targets remaining within range of the chosen Location. The damage decays by 2 each Round.
After you finish activating this Effect, you cannot move quicker than a walk (max 15 feet per Round) for one minute and suffer a -1 dice penalty for an hour. Exhaustion’s penalty and duration stacks with multiple activations.
Jordan speaks one command, and briefly, a shadow of something not of this world can be sensed behind him. Something more powerful, more domineering, more worthy of fear and obeisance. His eyes glow with a color you can’t quite place on the visual spectrum, and little pebbles and rocks hover off the ground as the air grows tense. Then the tension fades, the pebbles clatter down, and the commanded creature meekly obeys, as if fearful.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select a Non-Alien Creature within 20 feet.
For the next day, you may issue specific commands to your target which they will be compelled to follow.
Your commands can be complex and multi-layered, though they must still be specific. You cannot make them obviously endanger themselves or violate their instinct for self-preservation. The effects of the command will fade after a day has passed.
Kitty can use zir inverted soul to transfer some Antimana into an object, rendering it resistant to magical attacks, or extra powerful when used against magical beings
Exert your Mind and spend a minute. Select a non-Alien Device within arm's reach. This Effect cannot be used unless the bonuses are only granted against attacks by magical weapons, or magical entities. Roll a single D10 as a critical failure check. If you roll a 1, the Effect fails, and you destroys the object. You must actively and obviously use prism to activate this Effect. Can be used on Armor.
Lasts the next day. Your target receives 3 extra dice to all actions taken for its intended use. Attacking with an upgraded weapon grants +3 Weapon Damage instead of additional dice. While it is upgraded, the item cannot be destroyed. Upgraded Armor is shredded by half the normal amount. If it is a piece of Armor, it instead receives half that amount as bonus armor rating, rounded up. If an upgraded shield and armor are both worn, the upgrade bonus does not stack with itself.
You may upgrade any number of Objects within a 10 foot radius of your target.
Upgraded weapons count as any material your opponent might be particularly vulnerable to. Upgraded Armor cannot be circumvented by called shots. Upgraded Devices do not run out of fuel or energy.
The Goblin King channels their power through their Bangmangi, allowing them to create an illusion out of thin air, forming as if made out of mist, then disappearing just the same.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select a target within arm's reach. You must actively and obviously use Club to activate this Effect. Choose an illusion to generate, which can be no larger than a person.
The chosen illusion is generated at your target, and it will remain in place for the next minute or you choose to end it. It can be perceived by people through their hearing, smell, and sight. The illusion cannot be used as an attack. You cannot make an exact replica of an existing Animate being or Object.
Anyone who touches the illusion (or who would be able to perceive it significantly through a sense it cannot fool) realizes it is an illusion and can choose to perceive it or not at will.
The illusion will remain fixed to its initial target, and can only change locations if the initial target is mobile in some way. It may have moving parts and engage in simple, predetermined movements but cannot perform anything complex or interactive unless you maintain Concentration and “puppeteer” it.
The Thief examines an object closely for a minute to appraise its value. As their eyes dance across the subject, their pupils split vertically, and their irises fade to gold. If it is a particularly valuable item, the Thief may greedily lick their lips, revealing a forked tongue.
Within a minute, they have determined how materially valuable the object is and why.
Exert your Mind and spend a minute. Select a target Object within arm's reach. At the end of your investigation, roll Charisma + Culture at Difficulty 6.
You learn all the following information about your target:
The mutant now occasionally lays large, orange-speckled eggs. These Eggs do not hatch nor spoil. If cracked and applied to a chronic injury such as a missing limb, the scar heals completely within the hour. However, any area healed by the egg will forever carry an inhuman appearance as testament to the bizarre method of treatment.
Spend a minute and use up this unusually large egg (unless you succeed on 1d10, Difficulty 7). Select a Living target within arm's reach. Select a Battle Scar on your target to treat.
The treated Battle Scar heals as you finish activating this Effect.
Healing a Battle Scar in this way leaves behind an inhuman attribute such as fur, scales, or feathers on the target which cannot be healed.
The creature's claws rip through the poor, defenseless doctor's coat, opening deep gashes in their gut. It bares its fangs to lunge for the killing blow, but the doctor looks up at the attacker. Their eyes filed not with utter terror at their imminent demise, only a look of disappointment and pity. Touched, the monster hesitates. . .
This Effect activates whenever you receive a Severity 2 or higher Injury from an attack. It does not require an Action or Exertion. Select a Living target within 45 feet. Roll Charisma + Influence at Difficulty 6. Affected targets can resist by rolling Mind at Difficulty 6.
If you succeed, for the next minute, your target will do things they otherwise wouldn’t have done, inspired by remorse for hurting such a pure soul. They will not necessarily display their emotions in an obvious way.
Actions they take will be in keeping with their character and the way they tend to deal with strong emotions. They will be unlikely to change their mind about any actions taken or decisions made until after the Effect ends.
By focusing and whispering a prayer under their breath, the priest may invoke their god to protect those who have good works left to do.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action or Reaction. Select a Animate target within 20 feet. This Effect cannot be used unless the target is a living human. Roll a single d10, Difficulty 4. If you fail or botch, the Effect fails and you cannot activate it again for an hour. Roll Charisma + Occult at Difficulty 6.
If you succeed, you create a barrier around your target, which absorbs the next Outcome + 2 Damage. The Damage reduction from the barrier is applied before Armor. You may only have 1 active barrier at a time.
You must maintain Concentration while using this Effect. The barrier will fall if you are interrupted, or if it absorbs the full amount of Damage. When a barrier falls, you cannot use this Effect again for a minimum of 2 Rounds.
This Effect is not obvious, and the only sign you are using an Effect is you whispering a prayer under your breath. If someone suspects that an Effect was used, they must roll Perception + Alertness, Difficulty 8 to pick up on your Tell.
The Skeleton Key slips easily into any keyhole and turns without a fuss.
Spend an Action.
You may lock, unlock, and/or open any number of doors, locks, or locked targets within arm's reach of you. Cannot be used on Alien technology.
If you successfully operate a lock, you may choose to destroy it, rendering it inoperable.
