Pressing the red button on top of the pepper spray bottle.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action to activate. Select a Living target within 20 feet. Make a Trauma roll when you activate this Effect. Roll Dexterity + Firearms at Difficulty 6. Your target may resist by rolling Body at Difficulty 7.
If you succeed, the target is afflicted with a Condition that causes one of the following symptoms:
The affliction is not treatable by modern medicine. It may be diagnosed by rolling Intellect + Medicine at Difficulty 6, and can be cured by Intense Heat/Fire.
Whenever the Artifact's owner focuses their attention onto someone whom they wish to impede, the intensity of their eye's beam of lantern-light momentarily increases as it burns open a multitude of watery holes across the illuminated portions of the target. Though this process is nearly painless, it is uncomfortable and rather gruesome to watch. A moment later, an infinitely long, glowing, wispy centipede phantasm appears as it leaves from one of the aforementioned holes and begins entering and exiting every other hole, one by one, restricting the target's movements all the while. If the target is successfully petrified in the process, a thin film of glow-water spreads all over the target's body as well, originating from each of the holes which glisten from within.
Once the bindings are made to disperse - be it through the intent of the Artifact's owner or due to the target breaking free of their own accord - the centipede phantasm dissolves into thin air, and all of the watery holes close up and disappear.
Expend a point of Battery and spend an Action. Select a target within 45 feet. This Effect cannot be used unless you are an abyssal centipede, the target is within your eye's beam of lantern-light and you keep the target at the center of your cone of vision throughout the entirety of the Effect. If line of sight is broken, the Effect ends prematurely. Roll Perception + Alertness at Difficulty 6. the target may resist by rolling Mind at Difficulty 7.
If you succeed, your target will be restricted at their location by an intangible, ethereal binding. They cannot move to a new location, and, if your Contested Outcome was greater than their Mind divided by 2, they are encased and cannot take any physical Actions until they break free.
Restricted targets may attempt to break the binding and escape by spending an Action and rolling Mind at Difficulty 7. Breaking free requires a total cumulative Outcome equal or greater than the original Contested Outcome.
You may use this Effect as a Reaction to contest any physical Action a target is taking. Excess Outcome does not restrict the target. This interrupts Concentration.
Your bindings affect intangible beings like ghosts.
You may end this Effect prematurely as a Free Action.
Anyone who witnesses you during this Effect's activation will almost certainly be disturbed to see your eye's beam of lantern-light burn open watery holes across the illuminated portions of the target, through which an infinitely long, glowing, wispy centipede phantasm can be seen entering and exiting as it restricts the target's movements.
The Gunslinger becomes very hard to recognise when they don't wish to be. Events line up just so that any attempts to find them become more difficult, sudden dust storms or similar blocking them from view. Even when seen head-on, it is hard to really recognise their face, the eye slipping off, focusing instead on the jaw or below
You gain the following benefits as long as you are wearing this Artifact.
You and everything you are carrying is obscured in one of the following manners. You may Spend an Action to change the way in which you're concealed.
While this Effect is active, any Effect that would obscure you or your equipment specifically from other, additional senses fails automatically.
If someone discovers you, this Effect will not help you hide from them for the next minute. Activating a targeted or obvious Effect, attacking, or being Injured ends the Effect. When the Effect ends, it is disabled for one minute.
You may turn this Effect on and off at will during its duration.
Whenever the Artifact owner attempts to enter or leave the pocket realm, space contorts and either folds in on itself or unravels in a non-Euclidean manner, either swallowing or revealing their existence as well as the existence of any selected nearby targets. Observing this effect is uncomfortable to spectators.
The void of the pocket realm is formed from unknown, barely-visible, ever-shifting black glyphs. Sparse crimson motes reminiscent of eldritch rubies float throughout this space, providing a bit of light if they are close to the space's theoretical center. Additionally, the Artifact owner's lover is manifested within the pocket realm as well.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action.
You phase out of reality for up to 10 minutes. During this time, you cannot affect the outside world but may take mental and self-targeting Actions. You cannot move. Nothing can interact with you in any way.
When you phase out, you may bring up to 1 additional target in arm's reach with you. While phased out together, you may interact as if standing in an empty void that extends infinitely in all directions.
When you activate this Effect, you may limit its duration to a period of your choosing. If you are able, you may also end it as a Free Action on your initiative.
Anyone who witnesses you during this Effect's activation or for its duration will almost certainly be disturbed to see nauseating, non-Euclidean space-warping which outlines horror-evoking phenomena beyond perception.
Gereg takes a bite, siphoning the energy from a target to strengthen his master.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select two Sapient targets within arm's reach. Roll a single D10 as a critical failure check. If you roll a 1, the Effect fails, and you an Injury you have increases in Severity by 1d4 points. If a target does not consent to the transfer, you must roll Intellect + Occult at Difficulty 6 to use the effect on them. They can resist by rolling either Body or Mind at Difficulty 6, depending on what you are attempting to transfer to them.
You may choose a single instance of one of the following to transfer between your two targets:

You may lock, unlock, and/or open any number of doors, containers, knots, or locks within arm's reach of you. Cannot be used on Alien technology.
If you successfully operate a lock, you may choose to destroy it, rendering it inoperable.
The Scepter of Ang-Kapal is a gruesome device fashioned to look like a skeletal arm clutching a glass eye. When used, blood from the person holding is drawn into the eye where it swirls with dark energy. The eye turns to a nearby corpse and shudders, reviving the creature. The creature does not retain any of its memories or personality, but it is absolutely loyal to whoever is holding the scepter.
The Scepter of Ang Kepal has the unfortunate side effect of driving its owner mad.
Increase your sacrificial Injury's Severity by 1 and spend one minute. Select a Dead target within arm's reach with at least half its skeletal structure remaining. You must make a Trauma roll when you use this Effect. Its Difficulty cannot be reduced by any means. If you fail or Botch, you receive one Mind Damage and a new Trauma.
Your target rises as an Animate being. The raised creature is totally mindless, with no memory of its past life or hint of its old personality. They cannot communicate. They will follow any command you speak.
The creature lasts for eight hours or until it dies again. It is revived at full health. Any Injuries it had in life are not accounted for when determining its penalties or progression towards re-death, though they may affect its ability to perform certain actions at GM's discretion.
Raised creatures have their Abilities set to the same that they were in life. Their Charisma and Intellect are set to 1, but their Dexterity, Brawn and Perception are the same as they had in life. A raised creature cannot use any Effects.
Destroying one of your zombies requires a called shot to the head or heart. All other Injuries zombies suffer result in Battle Scars only, limiting their mobility and effectiveness in other ways.
Your revived targets deal 2 Weapon Damage with their unarmed attacks.
If you do not have a sacrificial Injury when you activate this Effect, take a new Severity-1 Injury.
The Predatory Raiment has a cloak feature that allows its owner to hide themselves and their equipment with active camouflage. When viewed, they look like a slightly shifted and shimmering version of the surrounding environment.

Dazzle Glasses are advanced "black-tech" espionage gear. They can be styled as any sort sunglasses. When the wearer is recorded, they will quickly flash a non-visible laser into the recording device, destroying it after only a moment of footage is taken.
This Effect activates whenever you are recorded. It does not require an Action or Exertion. Select a Non-Sapient Object within 20 feet no larger than a duffel bag (35 liters). Your target should be intuitively based on the triggering event. Roll Perception + Culture Difficulty 6.
If your Outcome is 4 or higher, the target will be completely destroyed and can no longer function, though it may still be repaired. If your Outcome is less than 4, the target will be partially damaged, and any attempts to use it will suffer a dice penalty equal to your Outcome.
The De-Neuralizer is a small silver device that can emanate a bright flash of light. Any being that looks into it with uncovered eyes has their most recent period of the their memory set into a highly over-writable state for a moment. While in this state, their memories may be overwritten at will.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select a Location within within arm's reach. All Sapient targets within 20 feet are affected. If the contested Outcome is positive, the most recent 1 hour from your target’s memory is either replaced with new memories or forgotten entirely. This is recorded as a Condition. The level of detail and completeness of the alteration depends on your Outcome. If you fail, the target realizes that you are attempting to alter their memories.
The period is chosen either by time (i.e. “last Friday night”) or by reference to a specific event (i.e. “when the murder occurred”).
