As they speak, their message is transcribed through a speech bubble that appears next to them in an inky, comic book style, where their words are also dubbed over in the event they cannot be read. On their end, any messages they receive can be understood through a series of text bubbles that they can only see.

To an outside observer, it would sound like Conner is making animal noises, but the animals themselves would understand him as if he were one of their own. This change in his voice is the only indication that something unusual is happening; otherwise, there are no visible supernatural effects.
