    Conditions

    From Project *******
Guardian of the Bog Bound to the Imp's Swamp cannot be gone for more than 30 days, will be teleported back to location in event of being gone too long.
The Deal of Identity Leon Vanderblight will forget about his existence as himself, a Kitsune, and become Joao Jean DeLeon, Pawn Shop Owner. Learning about or attempting to be convinced of your previous life deals a Trauma roll Difficulty 9 -3 dice. Leon has experienced some pain of remembrance… He understands his species and the origin of his abilities, his connection to Tamamo no Mae, and vague details about his past as a young Kitsune,
    From Assets and Liabilities
Focused You are able to remain focused despite your circumstances and surroundings. Any Mind Penalty you have is reduced by 2.
Beautiful You're quite the specimen! Rolls where your good looks could help are at -2 Difficulty, and social interactions should be role-played accordingly.
Fragile You're emotionally fragile, and very likely to be mentally and emotionally scarred by your experiences. You have four Limits, instead of the usual three.
Supernatural Condition You have some unique supernatural affliction or curse due to your heritage or background. Haunting Echoes: Kitsune's Bane: Dogs that detect you go crazy and must roll mind at difficulty 8 to avoid attacking you.
Cat-Eyes Your eyes catch the light in the dark like a cat or dog's, granting low-light vision. You suffer no penalty to rolls in low-light situations. You cannot see in pitch blackness.
Lanky You are particularly tall and have long limbs. Your "touch" range is ten feet instead of the standard five.
Clear Conscience You have a special knack for shrugging off traumatic experiences. All Trauma rolls you make are -1 Difficulty, and Penalty does not apply.
Sleepless You do not require sleep. You do not require sleep, and any resistance rolls against supernatural attempts to put you to sleep are rolled at +2 dice.

    Loose Ends

    Powers

Leon's powers have not all come back exactly as they should, but Leon has made friends in many places, and with their help, he can cover for what remains missing. This particular blessing comes courtesy of the Kamaitachi, the sickle ferret. A friendly (to Leon at least) wind spirit who commands the cutting wind. A spirit rumored to command winds that can decapitate people. Though despite the gnarly rumors one can often see little ferrets running alongside him as he rides these winds, Leon smiling as he flies in the midst of them, laughing as he tells them a joke or two to pass the time though the fickle spirits do tend to be rather demanding and won't release Leon until they've been suitably entertained.

Exert your Mind and spend at least two Actions performing the following ritual: Telling the sickle ferret a joke once summoned to activate. You must maintain Concentration while activating this Effect, and it fails if you are interrupted.

You may levitate off the ground at three times your normal walking speed. The effect lasts for the next hour, and while it is active, you cannot choose to end the effect early, or come closer than 5 feet to the ground.

While in the air, your move speed and encumbrance are based on your rating in Mind instead of your Brawn and Dexterity.

    • Your free Movement while levitating is now 5 + (5 x Mind) feet per round without incurring a dice penalty. You may extend your Movement by up to 20 extra feet, taking a -1 dice penalty for every 5 extra feet you travel.
    • If something pushes or forces you down towards the ground, your buoyancy will automatically push you back upwards to a height of at least 5 feet off the ground.
    • Any penalties to dice or movement, including from Encumbrance, are applied as normal. If your movement is reduced to 0 due to encumbrance, you will begin to sink down to the ground.
    • You may activate this Effect while in midair, allowing you to slow and survive any free fall.

Physiology is in its way unique to mortals. Leon does not age, he does not breathe, he does not eat, nor does he drink. So the facsimile of human anatomy he has held has been something that's been a vestige of his weakened state for some time. No longer. The interior of his body holds only masses of spiritual energy that Leon can move around freely and destroying these organs so long as he retains function no longer hurts him as though it will expose his nonhuman nature if he's hit with a grenade. His body reforms around the injury as the spiritual mass absorbs reiki from the air to reconstitute itself, it will not kill him. No, to truly slay Leon you must now commit to a grueling battle of attrition. One in which you are against the energy of the world, and Leon does not fancy your chances.

You gain the following benefits as long as Leon has consumed an offering made in his name in the past day.

You are permanently and visibly transformed: He now gains sharp fox-like teeth, his tails now have a singular green slit iris'd eye each that are hidden beneath the fur of the tail akin to a lid, and his "Blood" now glows slightly in the dark.. You are considered to be a Sapient, Living being when targeted. Your Dexterity is increased by 1.

You no longer age naturally, and supernatural attempts to age you fail.

You are immune to damage from heat and flames. If heat is a substantial component of other damage you would take (e.g. slashed with a flaming sword), that damage is reduced by 2 (in addition to Armor)

The Severity of any Injury caused by Radiation is increased by 2.

    • Your heat resistance does not extend to your equipment. Fire does not degrade this effect over time.
    • The increase in Injury Severity stacks with any similar effects, such as the Silver Bullets drawback on Regeneration.
    • Attribute bonuses from multiple sources do not stack. Instead the highest bonus is used.

When his mortal body becomes damaged enough, Leon sheds his corporeal form and returns to his spiritual body. His mortal form discorporating into a cloud of white ethereal wisps before coming together to form a translucent whirlpool of energy from which he emerges as a man sized nine tailed fox, eyes ablaze with green flame, and each of his nine tails proudly on display. Though the process results in him briefly experiencing a total void of sensation as the body is shed and it leaves him disoriented and feral for the short time it takes him to reconstitute a new form it's utility is inarguable. Though such a transformation would without question expose him to the world, Leon is not the type to be so kind as to leave loose ends once his true Kitsune body has been exposed.

This Effect activates whenever Leon suffers a wound of severity 4 or greater. It does not require an Action or Exertion. Make a Trauma roll when you activate this Effect.

You transform into Kitsune Form for 3 minutes. You have access to all of your Powers while you are Kitsune Form, and you can use your equipment. The Injuries and Battle Scars of your Alternate Form and your true form are tracked separately. While transformed, your Attributes are the same.

You do not suffer wound penalties while in your Alternate Form.

If you are restricted, restrained, dazed, sleepy, or stunned, you may activate this Effect to break free or end the negative effect. You cannot free yourself by transforming more than once a minute.

Whenever you enter Combat, roll Mind, Difficulty 7. If you fail, you cannot choose which targets to attack.

You are incapable of fine object manipulation and can only hold or grasp things in a crude, clumsy way.

As a true kitsune, it is only natural that he is able to return to his true form as a fox. Unfortunately though, his wounds mean that he is unable to manifest his true glory as of yet. Though he finds that being a fox is often times more valuable than being a person when you need to get out of dodge, or get into somewhere you aren't allowed to be.

Exert your Mind and spend one minute to activate.

You transform into A 7 tailed Corsac Fox for two hours. You are unable to revert to your original form at will and must wait for the duration to fully elapse before returning to normal. You cannot transform into a flying creature. See the Extended System text for stats.

While transformed, you cannot use any equipment (including Artifacts and Consumables), but you can use your Powers. Any equipment you are wearing transforms with you.

Injuries and Wound Level are carried over between forms. However, transforming can never kill you; you merely remain Incapacitated until your Injuries are sufficiently healed.

While transformed, you may speak and use any Influence or Communication Powers you posses.

While transformed, you are obviously unusual, unnatural, or alien, and the average person will take a special interest in you.

    • Creature Stats
      • Medium (large house cat up to human) Body 3. Brawn 1. Dexterity 3. Fall damage reduced by 1.
All creatures get +3 dice to any non-combat Action that they are naturally adapted for. All creatures Medium and larger may attack by rolling Body, dealing +0 Damage (+1 for “predators”). Gms and Playgroup leaders can apply other bonuses and effects to specific animals.
    • Animals that are quicker than humans (like dogs) have 50 feet of Free Movement. Animals that are very slow (like turtles) have 0 feet of Free Movement.

Innately supernatural beings such as Kitsune are natively able to display a level of charm that is legendary even among the supernatural, Leon's latest adventures have allowed him to restore a small shred of this charm and in doing so he has begun to remanifest his innate traits, albeit less than overtly in the form of a tattoo depicting his nine tails on his back.

You gain the following benefits as long as you have your fox tail.

Your Charisma rating is increased by 3. You may Exert your Mind to automatically gain an Outcome of 5 on any roll that uses Charisma (Cannot be used on combat rolls or Power activations).

Possession of this Power grants the following Trauma at all times: Heart Heat: Failed Limit Rolls cause an additional 1 severity wound on top of the added trauma..

If you are witnessed actively using this Effect, whoever sees it can make a Perception + Alertness roll at Difficulty 6. A complete success reveals the source of your power.

You also gain the following effects:

    • Poker Face: You reveal only what you want to reveal. It is impossible to determine whether or not you are lying. You may roll Charisma + Performance to resist any investigative Effect that targets you. If you successfully resist, you determine the info they get.

    • In rare cases, GMs may require you to make a roll to lie to particularly powerful beings.
    • If your fox tail is damaged, destroyed, or lost, you lose all benefits from this Effect for the next two months, or until you can recover any relevant missing items (which may involve a side-game and requires a GM to approve whatever process is used).
    • Attribute bonuses from multiple sources do not stack. Instead the highest bonus is used.

The realization that something is false triggers a certain, reaction in the brain. Upon dispelling an illusion of Leon's through brute force he can force that reaction upon someone in the ensuing explosion of mystic energy. Then, when he has magic and an impulse to jump on he feeds a little more into it and causes it to loop back in on itself, and with Joao Jean's latest and greatest trick the loop goes on and on~. Striking to the core of their mind as the magic tears through their brain turning it into so much silly putty until they become unable to accept the notion of the untrue, their mind going into full defense notion as implausible becomes the incomprehensible and the merest glimpse of the world beyond drives them to madness.

This Effect activates whenever Another person takes an action that would have an illusion of his suffer the equivalent of a severity 2 injury or more. It does not require an Action or Exertion. Choose a location within 300 feet. All Sapient targets within 300 feet within 20 feet of it are affected. You must actively and obviously use A musical instrument to activate this Effect. Roll Charisma + Performance at Difficulty 6. Affected targets may resist by rolling Mind at Difficulty 8. If they are incapacitated or unconscious, they fail automatically and their Outcome is 0.

If the Contested Outcome is positive, the affected targets takes Mind damage equal to the Contested Outcome. If you deal at least 3 Mind damage, the affected targets will gain Fear of the supernatural as a Trauma. This trauma may be removed by Effects or mundane therapy as per normal rules. Affected targets are aware that they are being attacked and can generally tell who did it.

Anyone who witnesses you during this Effect's activation will almost certainly be disturbed to see The illusion discorporates into a swarm of hooks that dig into the person and attempts to rip their soul apart.

    • When narrating disturbing content, be cognizant of your group's tone and accommodating to those who would like to "fast forward" through the description.
    • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.

His bodies return to it's initial spiritual state now fully complete, aside from one critical component, his physiology no longer suffers from such mortal issues as "dying of blood loss" and "needing months for broken bones to heal.". No instead now he heals within days rather than months, and in absorbing the Qi of the world he has essentially infinite vitality for standard tasks. A cushy position if Joao Jean had ever heard of one, and one he didn't intend to leave any time soon. Even if in doing so he's gained a vulnerability to the celestial judgement of natural lightning, and weapons blessed by the those Shinto Fogeys back in his homeland fuck him up just like he was a mortal but hey. No such thing as a free lunch.

You gain the following benefits as long as Leon has consumed the faith energy of an offering made to him that day.

Any Injury you receive from a source other than Lightning and Onmyo Blessed Weapons heals quickly, reducing its Severity by one level every day, starting once it becomes stabilized. You may also Exert your Mind and spend an Action to reduce the Severity of a single stabilized Injury by 1. Does not affect Injuries suffered as an activation cost for Effects.

Battle Scars caused by your Injuries are also healed when the Injuries that caused them regenerate. Any Injuries you receive automatically count as a successful Makeshift Stabilization and do not deteriorate further.

As long as at least half your body remains intact, you cannot die and remain at Incapacitated, regardless of how many Injuries you take. It is clear to observers that you are still alive.

Injuries you receive from Lightning and Onmyo Blessed Weapons are increased in Severity by 1.

    • The increase in Injury Severity stacks with any similar effects, such as the Vulnerable drawback on Inhuman Physiology.

Leon has decided that it is time to stop merely playing at divinity and begin embodying it. The first step in doing so is to honor one of the most ancient traditions of Kami. Naorai, the end of the period of fasting and moderation wherein the gods pay the believer back for their devotion. In doing so Leon enjoys a meal in a blessed location as the kami responsible for the people in his land at a sanctified location, during which time he accumulates the energy of faith shared in the meal into a bottle of sake that he keeps beside him throughout the meal. Then, at the end once the bottle has filled with the energy and the sake has been enriched with the spiritual power of both Kami and believer, Leon then takes a drink of sake and bites his tongue before he spits the mixture onto the object in question and in doing so blesses it granting it the power of the kami that aid him in his day to day life and cleansing it of impurities with his own life essence. In this communion as well, two items may be brought into union as god and believer are and in doing so elevate both to something beyond either.

Take a Severity-1 Injury and spend an hour to activate. Select a Device within arm's reach. Can be used on Alien technology. This Effect cannot be used unless You are in a sanctified location. Roll a single D10 as a critical failure check. If you roll a 1, the Effect fails, and you Leon takes a severity 4 as the injury backfires into him. You must use up Blessed Sake in order to activate this Effect. Can be used on Armor.

For the next three weeks, your target receives 3 extra dice to all actions taken for its intended use. Attacking with an upgraded weapon grants +3 Weapon Damage instead of additional dice. While it is upgraded, the item cannot be destroyed. Upgraded Armor cannot be shredded. If it is a piece of Armor, it instead receives half that amount as bonus armor rating, rounded up.

You may choose a second valid Device target while activating this Effect and splice both targets into a single new Device. The newly created item has the same size as the larger of the two initial targets, and can be used to perform the same actions as either of the original items. It receives 3 to those actions for the next three weeks.

After you finish activating this Effect, you cannot move quicker than a walk (max 15 feet per Round) for one minute and suffer a -1 dice penalty for an hour. Exhaustion’s penalty and duration stacks with multiple activations.

    • "Destroyed" in this context means "prevented from functioning for its primary purpose", so for instance, an upgraded land mine would still explode as normal if triggered, even though it cannot be "destroyed" and a car's windows may still be broken.
    • When Splicing, you must be in possession of both devices. The resulting object behaves exactly as if both devices occupy the same space and do not gain any new functionality at all.
    • Exhaustion penalties and duration stack. If you activate this Effect or another Effect with Exhaustion, your penalty will worsen, and the duration is increased by one hour.
    • Reminder: additional Weapon Damage granted by this Effect does not stack with any other bonus to Weapon Damage. Instead the largest bonus is used.
    • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.
    • Your target must be within line of sight, or within range of another sense if more fitting for the Gift's flavor.

Leon begins to perform a series of odd hand gestures, each an occult ritual that those in the know may recognize before striking the target with his palm. Each palm strike creating a singular rune matched to a different shinto god that begins to rotate furiously as it blurs faster and faster with each strike until it forms a nine-fold circle and then plunges into the lock, which can then either be sealed, opened, or shattered by the energy within depending on the final gesture Leon executes. A palm strike to shatter, a gesture of Kai to seal, and a gesture of Mudra to open.

Leon had felt the pain of arcane bondage before. What it felt like to have your soul shackled and your body unable to listen to a single command. He had broken those shackles, mostly, and today he had learned what incredible things the universe held. How others could take your body and leave you trapped by simple bindings that one could not even see. Leon would not have this, he would not have his body, his mind shackled by these profane others who had come to make him a slave again. Never again.

So he set out and studied at every Shinto shrine he could find. From every priest, he could meet to find a solution to find a Kami that would grant him the power to shatter these seals in exchange for the incredible divine offering he had been given for his victory, and his studies came to an unfortunate realization.

No single Kami could grant the power he needed, to shatter these otherworldly things and the stone that had one yoked his soul, to seal them forever so that he would never again need to fear the shackling power of the killing stone or this new threat again he had but one offering to give, but his cause for once was just, and he went to the shrine dedicated to the pantheon of the Shinto gods. On his knees he begged as he presented the offering, knowing that it alone was not enough but that their world and so very much more was at stake, and so he implored. Their duty as Kami went beyond the petty struggle of Yokai and Kami, that they needed to unite and he would be their agent on this plane if that is what it took to recognize that the universe was more important than the squabbles of individual men and women. Divine, Yokai, or Mortal. It mattered not, they were in the face of an incredible threat. Thus, the gods listened, and they accepted. Though they demanded they each be honored with a gesture before this power was used, together they would grant him the power to shatter, seal, or open these strange things but they would need his offering in exchange. The world at stake or otherwise, bestowing a divine boon such as this without compensation would render them weaker in the coming conflict. Thus, Leon parted with the boon he received and returned to begin studying the gestures and through that study created the nine cutting fingers.

Exert your Mind and spend at least two Actions performing the following ritual: Performing the Nine cutting fingers gesture on the target to activate. Select a Alien Technology within arm's reach. This can be used on Alien technology. You must maintain Concentration while activating this Effect, and it fails if you are interrupted.

You may lock, unlock, and/or open your target.

You may Exert your Mind and spend two Actions to seal a lock or a closed door. Sealed doors / locks cannot be destroyed, removed, or operated by mundane means. When sealing a door, you may specify a passphrase which grants access.

    • Any door or restraint that is fastened or shut with a mechanism may be considered locked, at the GM's discretion. Can be used on control panels or other electronic locks, but not computer security systems.
    • If you operate a locking mechanism through this Effect which has some other secondary effect (such as the ignition on a car causing the car to start) you may cause that effect as well.
    • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.

After leading the exodus of his people from their old world to evade the dying of the light, Leon has made headway into becoming a divine fox. As a Tenko, he is no longer entirely dependent on offerings to survive and can now use those blessed offerings in order to share his bounty with others. Though it does little to alleviate their need for sleep, once you are blessed by the kami food, water, and even air become distant memories of requirements. All you need do is supplicate yourself before the divine, and you will find the mortal concerns of sustenance a thing of the past.

Spend an Action to activate. Select a target within arm's reach. You must use up An offering made in Leon's name in order to activate this Effect.

For the next week, your target does not require any food, water, or air.

This Gift's Cost is capped at 2 and cannot be increased further.

    • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.
    • Your target must be within line of sight, or within range of another sense if more fitting for the Gift's flavor.

It is said that the greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist.

Leon has taken this as a challenge, if some shithead old Christian motherfucker can lay claim to the greatest trick then he isn't going to accept being one-upped by some goat-hooved motherfucker.

So he has mastered the kitsune art of shapeshifting, practicing it relentlessly to the point that he can mask even the natural supernatural energies his body can emit via a katashiro. Temporarily displacing his energy onto the paper substitute and igniting it, causing the energy to blend back into the natural ebb and flow of the world's energy. Though his focus is admittedly still quite fragile as being hit while this is active hard enough to cause meaningful damage still knocks him back into his original form, while active he successfully displaces his energy to the one place where humans ignore his kind of power off hand.

After all, who ever gave a shit about something that was imaginary?

Take a Severity-1 Injury and spend a half hour to activate. You must use up A katashiro in order to activate this Effect.

You become disguised in a manner of your choosing. The disguise lasts until you either activate a new disguise, or choose to end the effect.

The new appearance may have a different sex, age, and race to your own, and you may alter height by up to a foot and your weight by 50%. Your disguise may directly mimic the appearance of a specific individual. You cannot alter your clothes. Your disguise can alter your smell, DNA, and other aspects that are not perceivable via human senses. This does not conceal you against investigative Effects. A disguise cannot affect your Attributes or other stats.

This Effect ends if you take an Injury or are stunned or incapacitated.

    • A performance check is generally required to pass with people who know the individual you're mimicking.

Auditory hallucinations are a classic trick of the [REDACTED], and though Leon has some. problems maintaining his [REDACTED] form still as of yet with a little assistance with a gift from a friend he has managed to grasp hold of one of the iconic [REDACTED] abilities once again. By playing the instrument he can strum into reality just about anything, though he does have some size limits he won't admit to, and he needs a little help from some additional sensory input from incense he imbues with his power, a novice, and his crutches still manage to produce an impressive illusion.

Exert your Mind and spend an Action to activate. Select a target within arm's reach. Choose an illusion to generate, which can be no larger than an SUV.

The chosen illusion is generated at your target, and it will remain in place until it is dispelled or you choose to end it. It can be perceived by people through all of their senses. The illusion cannot be used as an attack. You may create a replica of a specific being or Object, though it is still limited by what you do or do not know about the subject.

Anyone who struggles against the illusion or who would be damaged by the illusion realizes it is an illusion, and the entire effect will be ended for all targets.

The illusion will remain fixed to its initial target, and can only change locations if the initial target is mobile in some way. It may have moving parts and engage in simple, predetermined movements but cannot perform anything complex or interactive unless you maintain Concentration and “puppeteer” it.

You may use Traumatize as though you were standing within your illusion. Doing so dispels the Illusion. Anyone who has already seen through the illusion is unaffected by any Powers channeled through it.

Possession of this Power grants the following Trauma at all times: Kitsune Heart: Whenever a limit roll is presented you must drop your disguise and roll self control or act in a hostile manner towards the source of the limit roll. You may exert to end the effect so long as one action has been taken..

    • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.

A simple trick, if one that requires admitting a bit more vulnerability than he would normally like. Leaving behind the flesh suit has it's costs, but Leon vastly prefers that to the universal problem of being obliterated by a tank round, and though it takes a bit of mental focus, and pulling in the screaming souls of those he has devoured to do so, he can quickly corporatize if it is absolutely necessary.

Exert your Mind and spend an Action or Reaction to activate. Make a Trauma roll when you activate this Effect.

You phase out of reality for 4 Rounds. During this time, you cannot affect the outside world (other than non-combat Actions using your hands, at +2 Difficulty) or take any Actions. You may move as normal while phased out. You may pass through walls and "climb" up and down through solid material at normal climbing speeds. Nothing can interact with you in any way.

Anyone who witnesses you during this Effect's activation or for its duration will almost certainly be disturbed to see Leon's body collapses into an empty skin suit on the floor, and his ethereal body steps into a mass of souls.

You leave A glowing marble of fox fire at your location.

    • If you phase in while intersecting with solid material, you take a severe, potentially-lethal Injury.
    • Any items and equipment on your person become intangible along with you. You cannot interact with them, as they are intangible.
    • Effects that do not require a physical target may still affect you.
    • If you use this Effect to dodge as a Reaction, it succeeds without the need for a roll.
    • When narrating disturbing content, be cognizant of your group's tone and accommodating to those who would like to "fast forward" through the description.
    • You may use your Free Movement on the Round you phase back in, but you cannot take an Action.

Leon's hands pluck onto the strings of ki that resonate throughout a person's body like a musician, each pluck causing a harmonious sound to resonate throughout the area until eventually Leon can beckon their soul out of their body with the performance, and once the body is out, it is but a simple matter of taking the excess soul force he has consumed and using it to patch the holes in their spiritual physiology. Then, once the spirit is whole, the body follows soon after.

Exert your Mind and spend 2 Actions to activate. Select a Living target within arm's reach. You must actively and obviously use A musical instrument to activate this Effect. Make a Trauma roll when you activate this Effect. Choose a specific Injury on your target that has not yet been treated with this Effect and roll Charisma + Performance at Difficulty 6.

If you succeed, the Injury is reduced in Severity by your Outcome. If you reduce its Severity to 0, the Injury is fully healed. Otherwise, it is partially healed and will heal the rest of the way at its natural rate.

This counts as a successful Makeshift Stabilization if the Injury was not already Stabilized; any Battle Scars caused by the Injury will remain. Your patient is required to Must offer a prayer, and burn an offering for Leon once per day for the next month for the next month. If they violate this rule, your treatment is immediately reversed.

If your Outcome is greater than the Severity of the Injury you were attempting to treat, you may apply any excess Outcome to other Injuries on the same patient.

Anyone who witnesses you during this Effect's activation will almost certainly be disturbed to see The soul of the target is visible, and Leon regurgitates pieces of consumed souls to weld them into the target.

    • The patient is aware of the after-care requirement.
    • When narrating disturbing content, be cognizant of your group's tone and accommodating to those who would like to "fast forward" through the description.
    • Unstabilized wounds do not degenerate during treatment.
    • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.

Kotodama, the spirit word. The same means by which Susanoo proved his sincerity to Amaterasu and produced the 5 male deities that rule in the Celestial Palace. Leon has mastered a minor form of this in the form of manipulating Intrusive thoughts. The nattering, unwanted, whispers that lay at the edge of your mind. An excellent tool for delivering clandestine whispers for a novice telepath, though not strictly a Kitsune's strength Leon has come to realize that it is a talent that he needs to develop. Though all Kitsune are psychic to a degree, Leon's particular talents require quite a bit of a mental push, and he can only send a few short whispers but he can send them anywhere to anyone. After all, it only took a few sweet nothings to undo Troy.

Take a Severity-1 Injury and spend an Action to activate. Select a target any distance away from you. You must have a specific target in mind, but you require only an intuitive understanding of them, such as their name, face, or Location. You must actively and obviously use A miniature tori gate to activate this Effect.

You open up a line of communication to your target, and may converse with them as long as you maintain Concentration

The conversation will only be perceived by the intended recipient. You must share a common language for your target to understand the message.

    • Receiving a message does not force a target to pay attention to you, and they can feel free to ignore your message if they choose. Depending on the flavor of your Gift, they may or may not be able to return to it and read it later on.
    • Generally you cannot communicate with Contractors who are not in a Contract with you.
    • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.
    • Your target must be within line of sight, or within range of another sense if more fitting for the Gift's flavor.

Garbed in illusion, Leon steps forward and speaks with the target, though little do they know that with each word dropped, every phrase spoken, and every little signal of body language they surrender more than they could ever possibly know to Leon and as they continue to interact with the illusion. The little tells that people give off as their social mask shifts, ever so different than how they'd wear it in front of him, and as he pulls the strings like a puppet master the mask slips at last. Exposing exactly what Leon wants to know.

Spend one minute to activate. Select a Sapient target within arm's reach. This Effect cannot be used unless They are deceived into believing an illusion of Leon's is real. You must continuously interact with the individual in question in order to gather any information. At the end of your investigation, roll Charisma + Influence at Difficulty 6. The target resists by rolling Mind at Difficulty 7.

You learn all the following information about your target:

    • You learn the target’s Traumas, Limits, and whether or not their thoughts, emotions, or memories are being influenced by any Alien forces.
    • You learn the target’s passwords, passcodes, secret phrases, pin numbers, etc.
    • You learn what the target values most and where to find it, provided they know. This includes any hidden or concealed treasures.

The quality and specificity of information gained depends on your Outcome.

This Effect is not obvious, and the only sign you are using an Effect is Leon's eyes flash a little more green. If someone suspects that an Effect was used, they must roll Perception + Alertness, Difficulty 8 to pick up on your Tell.

This Gift's Cost is capped at 2 and cannot be increased further.

    • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.

As a member of the original species to practice this art, it only makes sense that Leon would pursue a small restoration of his power at the first chance he got. The power of the gift frees a small part of his soul from the botched ritual that half shackles it to Hasashi's shrine in japan. Bastard. Still, while it isn't quite at the level of complexity or range that Leon desires as of yet, the feeling of knowing that you can make someone go fuck themselves with a glance is one that Leon finds comforting.

Exert your Mind and spend at least one Action to activate. Select a number of Sapient targets equal to your Charisma within 20 feet. You may select a target at any range if you use up A surface that has reflected the target of the target. You must use up A katashiro in order to activate this Effect. Make a Trauma roll when you activate this Effect. Communicate a command to your targets. Roll Charisma + Influence at Difficulty 6. The targets may resist by rolling Mind at Difficulty 7.

If the contested Outcome is positive, your targets will be compelled to follow your command to their best understanding of the letter and spirit of the command until they have completed it or for your Outcome in days. You cannot issue another suggestion to the target until 10 minutes after they have completed the first command or 10 minutes after a failure.

The target is unaware that they are under supernatural influence and feel they are acting of their own free will. If you fail, they realize that you were attempting to influence them supernaturally with your command.

Your command can be an order to take an immediate Action, a conditional request, and an abstract goal. You cannot order a target to "do nothing," and they are free to take other Actions as they fulfill your request. Commands can put the target into a potentially self-endangering scenario, including Combat, though you cannot force a target to directly attack themselves. Commands may force a target to violate one of their Limits, and they will need to make a Trauma roll once the suggestion wears off.

You must have some means of communicating this command to your targets, but no one other than you and them will understand or perceive it.

This Effect ends if you are stunned, fall asleep, go unconscious, are incapacitated, die, or if your total Penalty ever exceeds 5.

    • When targeting multiple individuals simultaneously, they must all be issued the same command.
    • The target must be able to understand you and must receive your communication for the suggestion to work.
    • Allowed Commands
      • Conditional Request: implants a triggered response or latent order. (e.g. "when you see your mom, give her a kiss" or "when I give the signal, strip naked and pretend you're possessed by the devil.")
      • Abstract Goal: You command can be general or abstract, leaving the details of how your target achieves it up to them. (e.g. “crash your company's stock price" or "help me find the nearest vampire.")
      • Direct Order: The target must take an immediate action (e.g. “Sit down,” "run away," or "tell me your password.")
    • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.
    • Your target must be within line of sight, or within range of another sense if more fitting for the Gift's flavor.

    Legendary Artifacts

    The Inari Charm

Created and held by Leon Vanderblight.
A black inari charm with white accents around the eyes, and a singular red line drawn down it's muzzle from the mouth.

The small charm opens its mouth to reveal rows of sharp, broken, wooden teeth as it snaps hungrily at the nearest extremity as it exclaims "Feed me!" and attempts to satiate its unending hunger for blood. For those willing to part with some of their vital essences willingly though will find that it comes with its boons. Once the spirit is temporarily satiated it can use its power to call upon the nature spirits in the area. The Kodama that answers its call are far more helpful than the spirit within the charm and will answer questions about the area to the best of their ability. Though their specialty lies in the knowledge of the supernatural, and the threats that they have to avoid within the area they can answer specific questions if asked and will usually render the answer out in the form of a minute-long play.

Take a Severity-1 Injury and spend a minute to activate. Investigate an area with a radius of up to 1 mile You must use up A katashiro in order to activate this Effect. At the end of your investigation, roll Charisma + Performance at Difficulty 6.

You learn the following information about the area:

    • You learn about any traps or ambushes in the area. Using this power does not trigger said traps or ambushes.
    • You can locate the source of any supernatural energy or the presence of any supernatural effects on the area, though you will not necessarily get any specific information about their function.
    • You choose a specific type of event and receive a vision of the last time it occurred here.
    • You learn how heavily trafficked the area is, what sorts of Animate beings have moved through the area and when.
The quality and specificity of information gained depends on your Outcome.

    • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.

    The Seal of Nephthys

Created by Jules, looted by Leon Vanderblight.
A large golden ring set with a Black Opal, clearly ancient. It throbs with inky darkness when in use. It has a 5 point Battery that must be used to fuel it's powers

While Jules bears the Seal of Nephthys, the Goddess herself protects him, until such a time as he has avenged his family & returned the stolen artifacts of the Goddess. When Jules would be harmed one can see slender arms composed of shadows that ward off the attack. Even ethereal attacks can be thwarted by the Embrace of Darkness. When employing his Defensive Curl this effect is even more pronounced, with the wings of the Goddess enfolding him completely in a display of otherworldly power.

You gain the following benefits as long as you are wearing this Artifact.

You have 5 Armor, which reduces incoming Damage. Armor from multiple sources does not stack.

You may Exert your Mind and spend an Action or Reaction to double your armor rating for the Round.

Your Armor cannot be destroyed or shredded, and it always provides a minimum of 2 Armor regardless of any Armor penetration. Your Armor cannot be circumvented with Called Shots.

Those that bear the blessing of Nephthys, Goddess of Darkness, may defy the will of Geb, God of the Earth, running or walking up vertical surfaces or even sitting comfortably on the ceiling. This blessing remains in effect at all times, provided they bear the Seal of Nephthys as a conduit for the Goddess powers & remain in good standing with her; blasphemers may find this power fails them when they need it most...

Exert your Mind (unless Night/shadows) and spend an Action to activate.

You may move easily and without a roll in any of the following situations. Lasts 1 hour.

    • Spider Climber: You are able to climb on and cling to any surface without regard for the ordinary rules of gravity. You climb at your normal movespeed.
    • Surface Skimmer: You are able to move across the top of any bodies of water, ice, or other surfaces where others might sink with no penalty to your movement speed.

    • This Effect not provide any inherent protection from dangerous surfaces such as acid, lava, etc, so be careful!

The Gods of Ancient Egypt are renowned for their treasures. By holding or touching an item with one hand & making mystic passes with the hand bearing the Seal of Nephthys, Jules may invoke the Goddess to learn who values it, where it has recently been, & the presence of magical influence.

Exert your Mind and spend a minute to activate. Select a target Object within arm's reach. At the end of your investigation, roll Dexterity + Thievery at Difficulty 6.

You learn all the following information about your target:

    • Determine if this target is Alien in origin or whether it has any Alien energy or outside influences.
    • You receive visions, allowing you to discern where this object has recently been.
    • You receive whispers telling you who has used this object recently.
    • You learn the object's intended function and how to use it for its intended purpose, though not necessarily the ability to do so.
The quality and specificity of information gained depends on your Outcome.

After you finish activating this Effect, you cannot move quicker than a walk (max 15 feet per Round) for one minute and suffer a -1 dice penalty for an hour.

    • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.

The Black Opal on the ring bleeds darkness, engulfing items that then vanish, stored away safely in the Divine realm of the Goddess.

Spend a Quick Action to activate. This Effect cannot be used unless night/shadows.

You may withdraw an item from your stash, or add an item that is within arm’s reach to your stash. You may only stash targets which are in your possession, grappled, or otherwise controlled by you.

You may store any targets in your stash, each no larger than something which could fit inside a briefcase (15 liters), and you may store up to 7 things at a time.

You may choose to equip any equipment you withdraw at no additional cost.

Animate targets may Resist being stashed.

    • "Equip" refers to drawing a gun, putting on a piece of armor, etc.
    • Containers which hold multiple things may count as a single item so long as the things within are generally packaged together. For instance, you may stash a clip full of bullets, a medical kit full of medical supplies, or a box of crackers, but you cannot stash a backpack full of miscellaneous equipment.
    • You may only attempt to store Objects which are free-standing and disconnected from other things. The use of this Effect will not allow you to sever any connections holding an Object in place.
    • The Maximum Object Size parameter is intended to roughly capture the weight / size restriction of items and isn’t intended to restrict shape. GM discretion is advised. A human being is level 4 in the Maximum Object Size parameter.

The ring visibly throbs with power in darkness, washing away pain & fatigue from the bearer.

You gain the following benefits as long as night/shadows and you are wearing this Artifact.

Your Body and Mind Penalties are reduced to 0.

While Incapacitated, you may Exert your Mind to take a single action.

Any Body Penalty you would have had is instead added as a dice bonus to any rolls you make.

Any dice penalty from being stunned, diseased, cold, hot, dizzy, sick, distracted, or similar circumstances is reduced to zero. Does not affect penalties from Effects you activated.

From the ashes of despair a God appears before you. Anubis has returned to deal death and destruction in the name of the Goddess. The bearer of the ring transforms into a God like figure and is able to cause wanton destruction around him.

Expend a point of Battery and spend a Quick Action to activate. This Effect cannot be used unless Shadows/Darkness.

You transform into Jackal-Headed Monster for 30 minutes. You have access to all of your Powers while you are Jackal-Headed Monster, and you can use your equipment. The Injuries and Battle Scars of your Alternate Form and your true form are tracked separately. While transformed, your Attributes are the same.

Your alternate form is its own deadly weapon. Unarmed attacks made in your alternate form deal +3 Bonus Damage (instead of the typical -2).

You cannot speak any coherent verbal language while transformed and must resort to other means of communication.

    • Reminder: Bonus Damage from multiple sources does not stack. Instead, the highest Bonus is used.

Jules has taken a Sacred Oath to the Goddess of mourning, darkness, the dead, protection, magic, health, embalming, & beer. Until the day he can return all her stolen artifacts, she sustains his life - causing even the most grievous wounds to heal in days.

Jules must be wearing her sacred ring, the Seal of Nephthys, for her healing power to flow.

You gain the following benefits as long as Shadows/Darkness and you are wearing this Artifact.

Any Injury you receive heals quickly, reducing its Severity by one level each hour, starting once it becomes stabilized. You may also Exert your Mind and spend an Action to reduce the Severity of a single stabilized Injury by 1. Does not affect Injuries suffered as an activation cost for Effects.

Battle Scars caused by your Injuries are also healed when the Injuries that caused them regenerate.

By invoking the Goddess of Darkness in a short ritual, Jules can draw the shadows to him, rendering him unseen & unheard. He must be wearing the Seal of Nephthys & must invoke her secret names, not known to any living mortal for this power to function. If he steps into the shadows he now can disapear much easier.

You gain the following benefits as long as as long as night/shadows and you are wearing this Artifact.

You and any clothes or equipment you are wearing are obscured from non-human senses. All attempts to detect you via non-human senses fail. Detection attempts via other senses where non-human senses would assist are rolled at a -2 dice penalty.

Entering Combat or being Injured will end the Effect. When the Effect ends, it is disabled for 1 minute.

    • This does not include enhanced versions of common senses, such as a bloodhound nose.

The Divine voice of the Goddess may be channeled by the bearer of the seal, provided they stand within her house of shadows. The ring visibly throbs & pulsates with power as this occurs.

Expend a point of Battery and spend an Action to activate. Select a Sapient being, human, or Dead target within arm's reach. Dead targets must have died within the past week, and you must have their remains in your possession. This Effect cannot be used unless Shadows/Darkness.

The target can communicate in your language for the next ten minutes.

    • The target of "human" refers to any target that speaks a human language.
    • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.

    The Kitsune Flame Katana

Created and held by Leon Vanderblight.
A katana hilt that looks relatively mundane at first inspection, when activated however it produces a blade of energy attuned to the creatures particular spiritual elemental affinity.

When you've got a good thing, you put the practice in to make it great and when you have an artifact in hand you do what you can to learn to use it to your utmost. Leon has poured his energy into the ability to defend himself, and tethering some of himself to this sacred artifact has allowed him to attain supernatural celerity when channeling his soul through the artifact.

An upgrade into an artifact Leon traded another one he found on a job to obtain one from a harbinger. Base stats are +2 damage, half armor.

You gain the following benefits as long as you are wearing this Artifact and you are engaged in combat with Swords.

+2 dice to all rolls with Swords.

You also gain the following effects:

    • Point Control: Called Shots that you attempt only require a Contested Outcome of 2 for small targets and 4 for tiny targets.
    • Fancy Footwork: You may move your full Dash distance and attack in the same Round without penalty. You may also split your movement before and after your attack.
    • Riposte: If you successfully Defend against a melee or unarmed attack, you deal damage equal to your excess Outcome plus Weapon Damage back to your attacker.
    • Whirlwind: You may Exert your Mind to apply your next attack to any number of targets who are within melee range.

    • Reminder: Bonus Damage stacks with Weapon Damage, but does not stack with any other Bonus Damage. Instead, the highest Bonus Damage is used.

The Scroll Of Ancient Health Insurance

Created by Isaac King, looted by Leon Vanderblight.
    Currently At home.
This is a scroll written on magically fortified papyrus that just seems to glimmer with a sickening luster. Just touching it is enough to send a chill down one’s spine. The writing on it is written in Ancient Greek, which the user can only read once they are attuned to it. Or they know Ancient Greek.

When used on a corpse the scroll is unraveled and the user speaks out the phrase “Λύψε στη θέλησή μου πεσμένη, δεν είναι ακόμα η ώρα σου να πεθάνεις. Ελάτε σε αυτόν τον κόσμο και υπηρετήστε έναν σκοπό μεγαλύτερο από εσάς!”

The targeted corpse in question will suddenly rise from the dead laced in a purple darkening aura slowly seeping into the body and igniting the eyes with a false life.

Exert your Mind (unless you win a coin flip) and spend an Action to activate. Select a Dead target within arm's reach that has died within the last month.

Your target rises as an Animate being. The raised creature is totally mindless, with no memory of its past life or hint of its old personality. They cannot communicate. They will follow any command you speak.

The creature lasts for the next day or until it dies again. It is revived at full health. Any Injuries it had in life are not accounted for when determining its penalties or progression towards re-death, though they may affect its ability to perform certain actions at GM's discretion.

Raised creatures have their Abilities set to the same that they were in life. Their Charisma and Intellect are set to 1, but their Dexterity, Brawn and Perception are the same as they had in life. A raised creature cannot use any Effects.

You may end this effect prematurely as a Free Action.

Anyone who witnesses you during this Effect's activation will almost certainly be disturbed to see The rising corpse is twitching and even letting out soft ghostly howls which sound almost like they are in pain despite the soul being long gone..

Possession of this Artifact causes the following Battle Scar to manifest over the course of a day: The users entire left arm is Skeletal and only has tiny bits of exposed muscle. It can hold a maximum of about 10 Pounds. If you lose possession of this Artifact, the Battle Scar heals over the course of the next month.

    • When narrating disturbing content, be cognizant of your group's tone and accommodating to those who would like to "fast forward" through the description.
    • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.

    The Inari Charm

Created and held by Leon Vanderblight.
A black inari charm with white accents around the eyes, and a singular red line drawn down it's muzzle from the mouth.

Leon lays down flat and begins to close his eyes. His mind drifted into the embrace of yet another spirit brought into his service through the Inari charm. The Takarabune. A spirit much like the Inari that was originally connected with Woe, and the portent of a negative future and is now associated with the seven lucky gods, and in emulating the ritual many commit to on New Years, Leon can be granted a vision by the spirit as he passes through. Though in doing so he must enter a partially lucid dreaming state, and his eyes become cloudy and distorted even as the yokai guides him towards the items of value that are typically portrayed within the boat, as well as to the rifts to the spirit realm that call it home to dock once it is loaded. In doing so, however, he is not able to stop the Inari Charm itself from draining him heavily, and sometimes the spirit drinks too greedily leaving Leon more wounded than helped.

Take a Severity-1 Injury and spend at least two Actions performing the following ritual: Leon must lay down fully and place the picture under his head as he clasps the artifact between his hands and attempts to enter a lucid dreaming state for even just a moment to activate. You must use up A katashiro in order to activate this Effect. You must maintain Concentration while activating this Effect, and it fails if you are interrupted.

You automatically detect all Spatial Disturbances and Mystical Items within 10 miles of you for the next hour. You have a clear sense of both the distance and direction towards any detected items. You get details of what each detected item is, as if you've glanced at each object.

Even while this Effect is not active, if any Spatial Disturbances or Mystical Items come within 10 miles of you, you may roll Perception + Alertness, Difficulty 7 to detect them.

Even if there are no Spatial Disturbances or Mystical Items within 10 miles of you, you become aware of the direction the closest one is in, as well as a rough sense of its distance from you.

The means by which any Spatial Disturbances and Mystical Items are hidden or disguised is made clear to you, as well as how to access them if they are secured. This includes objects secured via the Stash Effect.

While this Effect is active, you are at -2 dice to all Actions and cannot Concentrate.

After this Effect ends, you cannot move quicker than a walk (15 feet per Round) for one minute and suffer a -1 dice penalty for an hour.

When you activate this Effect, roll a single D10. if the result is 5 or lower, you receive a Severity-1 Injury and a Minor Battle Scar.

    Crafted Artifacts

    Leon's turn coat

Created and held by Leon Vanderblight.
A over-sized reinforced jacket emblazoned with a white furred nine tailed fox running on the back, each of it's tails detailed with a different colored tip

An appropriately named jacket, coming in a variety of colors and woven with kevlar fabrics this blend of modern technology and fantastical ability can take you from anywhere to Leon's own home base. Though he's loathe to hand these out to any but those he trusts beyond all else, their incredible value in getting out of a shit situation when all else fails is beyond measure.

Exert your Mind and spend 2 rounds to activate. If you are at The heartstone of the Imp's Bog in Russia, you may choose a target Location within your line of sight; otherwise, your target may only be The heartstone of the Imp's Bog in Russia.

You are transported directly to the chosen Location. You must wait an hour before activating this effect again.

After you finish activating this Effect, you cannot move quicker than a walk (max 15 feet per Round) for one minute and suffer a -1 dice penalty for an hour.

    • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.

Small rat skull with a hole drilled in the head to hold it by a string

Gulliver, taking pieces of his chaotic and greedy and screaming soul, putting it into the small woodland skull of a rat putting it on a chain. These Screams and greed shield the users mind if successful learning the type of effect and adapting to it to stop it from being successful for the next day

    • Been There, Done That: If you succeed a Mind resistance roll, subsequent attempts to use that same Gift or supernatural ability on you for the next day will fail.

    • These bonuses apply only to Mind rolls made to resist Effects and other supernatural phenomena. They do not apply to Trauma rolls or self-control rolls.

They have dog-level intelligence, and cannot communicate back to you. Any Perception checks they make are rolled with 3 dice.

Kevins Friends call to him and ask him for his support. He steps from a portal behind them and lifts them up on his back and they ride him as he gallops forward bringing his friends to safety.

    • Any Encumbrance penalty to your movement still applies, but you do not suffer from any sort of exhaustion.
    • Damage from a collision depends on your speed at the time, as well as what you hit. GM's discretion, but generally moving faster than a car on the freeway and hitting a dense, solid object like a wall or a tree should be lethal. Mundane armor will not apply, but any supernatural forms of protection will.

Kevins freinds now have the ability to reveal their inner Pony OC. He hopes this allows his freinds to delve deeper into themselves and find their own inner pony.

Exert your Mind and spend an Action to activate.

You transform into A Horse for one hour or until you choose to end the Effect. You cannot transform into a flying creature. See the Extended System text for stats.

While transformed, you cannot use any equipment (including Artifacts and Consumables), and you do not have access to any of your Powers. The equipment you are wearing does not transform with you.

Injuries and Wound Level are carried over between forms. However, transforming can never kill you; you merely remain Incapacitated until your Injuries are sufficiently healed.

While transformed, you may speak and use any Commune or Send Message Powers you posses.

While transformed, you are obviously unusual, unnatural, or alien, and the average person will take a special interest in you.

    • Creature Stats
      • Large (larger than human, smaller than elephant) Body: 8. Brawn 6. Dexterity 2. Fall damage increased by 2. Armor: 1
All creatures get +3 dice to any non-combat Action that they are naturally adapted for. All creatures Medium and larger may attack by rolling Body, dealing +0 Damage (+1 for “predators”) that is not reduced by Brawn. Gms and Playgroup leaders can apply other bonuses and effects to specific animals.

Kevin has begun crafting protection into his friends bracelets. The weilder of these bracelets now carry their own sword of equestria allowing them to slay evil and protect friendship wherever they are.

This Artifact can be used as a Sword/Axe. It is roughly the same size as a Sword/Axe but can be collapsed into Friendship Bracelet Sword Charm the size of a lighter and concealed. Collapsing or expanding it costs a Free Action.

Attack by rolling Brawn + Melee, Difficulty 6. Successful attacks deal 1 Weapon Damage +1 Bonus Damage. The target's Armor is fully effective against this damage.

You also gain the following effects:

    • Fancy Footwork: You may move your full Dash distance and attack with your Melee weapon in the same Round without penalty. You may also split your movement before and after your attack.

    Earpods of Interpretation

Created by Luci Alessi, given to Leon Vanderblight.
These are corded earplugs that fit snuggly into any ear and are indistinguishable from normal buds. There's an insignia of a fox logo printed on each earpiece.

You turn on and turn up the volume of your wireless headphones and they surge with thick black shadows before dying down when the cast ends. For the next ten minutes your shadow will whisper translations from any sapient target around you as well as taking control of the motor control of your mouth when you speak, allowing you to speak flawlessly in whatever language your target speaks.

When concerning other facets of communication, your shadow will interpret anything you see to you in real time.

Exert your Mind and spend an Action to activate. Roll a single D10 as a critical failure check. If you roll a 1, the Effect fails, and you will incorrectly interpret and only translate racial slurs and taboo words. Involuntary words of toxicity will escape your mouth and those spoken to will be compelled to physically retaliate. Make a Trauma roll when you activate this Effect.

You may understand and communicate to humans and Sapient beings as if you are fluent in a relevant language for the next ten minutes.

This also includes understanding any recorded communications from the relevant targets, including writings, scent trails, etc.

After this Effect ends, you cannot move quicker than a walk for one minute and suffer a -1 dice penalty for an hour.

    • The target of "human" refers to any target that speaks a human language.
    • When reading written communications, you get no information beyond what the writer was intending to communicate.

    Consumables

    1

The Umbral plane is a verse that is not well known. Some believe it to be a source of energy while others believe it to be an energy sink. However, there is evidence to suggest that both of these assumptions are correct. In this case, Luci, with guidance from the entity within her shadow and on her own hunt to find a way inside of the Umbral plane, has discovered a workable method of connecting some of the bullets she makes into a miniature portal to that very same place. While physical matter, unfortunately, cannot pass through this portal, mystical energy can. And since this portal is linked to one of the Umbral plane's energy sinks, when it hits a target, it infuses into the user's internal systems and applies a constant drain that can disorient powers and even potentially shut them down completely.

Use up this bullet and spend an Action to activate. Make a firearms attack at a Living target within normal attack range. Roll your for your attack as normal. The target may roll to dodge or defend, as normal for firearms attacks. The attack may or may not deal Damage as per a normal attack, at the user's choice.

If you succeed, the target is afflicted with a Condition that causes one of the following symptoms:

    • Magical Miasma: The target’s connection to the world’s mystical energies is weakened. Any time they try to activate an Effect or any kind of supernatural ability, they must roll 1d10 at Difficulty 5, and if they fail, the Effect or ability fails. The Difficulty increases by 1 with every hour that passes.
Symptoms begin to appear immediately, and will remain and continue to worsen until the affliction is cured. The affliction is not contagious and will not spread to others.

The affliction can be diagnosed with a Medicine roll, and may be cured by modern medicine through treatment at a fully equipped facility. Treatment outside of a facility may stop the affliction from worsening for a day, but will not cure the underlying Condition.

    • This consumable is destroyed when used and cannot be used again.
    • Successfully diagnosing an affliction also includes information about the treatment method.
    • Curing an affliction removes the Condition, but does not automatically heal any Injuries, Battle Scars, or Traumas which may have been caused by that condition.
    • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.

    Shamisen
A mystical shamisen gifted to Leon by Noir for accomplishing a bonus objective in a contract. The instrument is attuned to you, if anybody else holds it it will be no different than playing any other mundane instrument - you however cannot fail or botch a performance roll with it, playing it will always sound great - that being said any time you roll anything lower than a 4 take a mind damage as it pushes you past your limits, mentally and physically draining you, 2 mind damage on a botch, you can't use it for power activation.

    6 Tails Total
    Given by Riley
Tail gifted by Riker alongside Leon's primary one. In order to remove these bonuses, the tail must be cut off. The reward will be given once all pawns are collected.
    Grimlock
    Given by Iamangelofwar
An urn the second Han emperor used to lock his least favorite wife inside for ten years When this urn is opened, one creature within 20 feet of the opener is sucked into it, unless they can get four successes on a brawn athletics roll to hold on to something. There is no roll if the opener also allows themselves to be trapped in the urn. They are trapped for the next 10 years.
    Immovable Rod
    Given by Iamangelofwar
An ivory rod, a foot in length, decorated with gold painted leaves. As a quick action you may speak the command word and affix the rod in a location relative to the planet (or other most relevant astral body), and it will not be moved short of 5 tons of force. For every ton after that the rod moves 10 feet a round. Another quick action is required to deactivate the rod.
    Flame of the Crypt
    Given by Riley
A glass orb with a rotating candle that eternally remains alight. Every time you cast Illusion, you may opt in to allow the Crypt to give a little extra flame and flare to your illusions to really sell them with added risk. (When casting an illusion, you may specify the use of this object and roll a mind roll at difficulty 7. This difficulty increases by 1 for each existing Illusion supplemented by this object. If you succeed, your illusion, regardless of how many things are created in that single illusion, gains the ability to make a single attack roll at 5 dice with no additional bonus damage or dice regardless of if the item is upgraded or is turned into a legendary artifact. The damage type is always non specialized and non supernatural. However, if you do not succeed the trauma roll, take 1 Mind Damage, and all existing illusions supplemented with this object will be granted “Wild Summon”, meaning they are unable to be controlled by the Illusory caster. The caster will be unable to cast additional illusions supplemented by this object as long as any Wild Summons exist. The duration for that illusion will be the same as the caster’s Illusion power.)

    Artifact Crafting Gifts
