Legendary Artifact

Luci's Sketchbook

Created by Riley and orphaned.
A fairly ordinary 14" X 17" sketchbook made up of infinite pages. It comes with its own utensil that cannot be separated from the sketchbook. It contains a small doodle on the cover of a chibi Luci. When the user is busy casting effects, they are usually too concentrated to notice the inherent disturbing aspects of its powers.

While inside The Well and energized by its effects, this sketchbook is able to create imitations of perfect concepts and objects and bring them forth into reality. It does require some form of direction, in the form of a drawn picture. The picture, once placed on the ground beneath the user will slowly lose form into a shapeless blob of weightless black ink. Within the span of about a minute, it will reform into the drawn object.

The drawings can be predone so long as they follow along with the proper prerequisites.

Exert your Mind (unless you win a coin flip) and spend 1 minute. This Effect cannot be used unless the user is within the Hollow Choir. You must use up a competently drawn picture of the item in question (At least 4 Outcomes) in order to activate this Effect.

Choose an Object which could fit inside a large luggage bag (up to 75 liters). It must be Non-Alien and generic but can include rare or complex materials (such as radium, gold, or drugs). You can create explosives, but they are limited in size to being no larger or more powerful than a satchel charge. You cannot create firearms.

Roll Perception + Crafts to fabricate up to 5 copies of your chosen Object. The Difficulty is assigned by the GM and depends on the specificity of your chosen Object. Your created items no longer expire, and will last until they are destroyed.

Anyone who witnesses you during this Effect's activation or for its duration will almost certainly be disturbed to see an Eidolon of the Well. The act of meddling with other planes of existence does not come without some undesired side effects. Sometimes, when peering through the veil with the intent to make use of its energies, something stares back and imparts upon the onlooker a warning of disorienting magnitude. Requires an Anguish Roll.

After you finish activating this Effect, you cannot move quicker than a walk (max 15 feet per Round) for one minute and suffer a -1 dice penalty for an hour. Exhaustion’s penalty and duration stacks with multiple activations.

  • You may cause a created item to expire at will as a Free Action, destroying the item.

The process of investigating an object with this effect is not unlike the concept of performing an art study to learn about drawing a specific thing. The user has to sit down and draw on a special piece of paper in a different section of the Sketchbook. This process is designed to take time, but as the user begins to fill the information in, blotches of ink spawn on the page and begin to bleed into letters, words, and pictures.

Individuals who have used the object in question, will appear as sketches beside the object.

Expend a point of Battery and spend a half hour. Select a target Object within arm's reach. This Effect cannot be used unless the user is within the Hollow Choir. At the end of your investigation, roll Perception + Crafts at Difficulty 6.

You learn all the following information about your target:

  • Determine if this target is Alien in origin or whether it has any Alien energy or outside influences. You receive information about the type of energy, including the name of the relevant Source pool or equivalent. You determine the effect of any active Alien energy detected, and you get an idea as to the sorts of ways that latent Alien energy may be channeled by the target.
  • You receive a neck-up portrait telling you who has used this object recently.
  • You learn how the target is made.
  • You learn the object's intended function and how to use it for its intended purpose, though not necessarily the ability to do so.
The quality and specificity of information gained depends on your Outcome.

After you finish activating this Effect, you cannot move quicker than a walk (max 15 feet per Round) for one minute and suffer a -1 dice penalty for an hour. Exhaustion’s penalty and duration stacks with multiple activations.

  • Exhaustion penalties and duration stack. If you activate this Effect or another Effect with Exhaustion, your penalty will worsen, and the duration is increased by one hour.
  • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.
  • Your target must be within line of sight, or within range of another sense if more fitting for the Gift's flavor.

The user uncaps their pen, splashes ink across the canvas, and then makes a formal request for what they would like to see.

Time Walk: The ink seeps into the page and begins to move on its own, translating from the watchful eyes of shadows past into a complete picture upon her sketchbook page.

Got a Bad Feeling About This Place: Areas containing traps and ambushes are clearly shaped together- to such detail that the user can recognize what the area looks like, while also being intuited upon its rough direction and distance.

Exert your Mind and spend 2 Actions. Investigate an area with a radius of up to 500 feet You cannot investigate the same target more than once per hour. At the end of your investigation, roll Perception + Crafts at Difficulty 6.

You learn a single specific piece of information, chosen from the following list, about the area:

  • You learn about any traps or ambushes in the area. Using this power does not trigger said traps or ambushes.
  • You choose a specific type of event and receive a vision of the last time it occurred here.
The quality and specificity of information gained depends on your Outcome.

  • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.
  • Your target must be within line of sight, or within range of another sense if more fitting for the Gift's flavor.

Upon selecting her item of choice to repair, the user, similar to how they cast Hollow Choir, releases a surge of ink to splash over the desired object.

After, the user must open the sketchbook to a blank page and begin sketching out all of the parts required to replace the damaged or missing pieces in the damaged object. Upon completing the drawings, the user must pluck the items out of their notebook in the form of a thick putty-like blob. The blob swirls with an inky blackness before eventually taking shape and form as a proper permanent piece to fix or replace damaged or missing parts. The repaired or missing piece will fling toward the object the user intends to fix- watching as that item flies to its intended spot and sticks itself right where it needs to be.

This ritual is fragile- if the user is unable to finish it in its entirety, the repaired parts will melt back into ink and mold into the Hollow Choir.

When it comes to powering the object, The Well temporarily inhabits and possesses the object, operating it through sheer force of will.

Perception + Artistry Roll or equivalent is acceptable.

Spend 10 minutes. Select a Object within arm's reach that is of any size. You may target Alien technology, so long as you have an understanding of its intended function. When repairing Alien targets, you must Exert your Mind. This Effect cannot be used unless the user is within the Hollow Choir. More than half the target object must be present in order to begin repairs. Roll Perception + Crafts at Difficulty 6.

If you succeed, your target is repaired back to a functional state. If you fail, you spend the full time working before realizing you cannot repair the target. If your target only requires fuel or power and is otherwise in working order, this Effect costs no Exertion, and the target is fueled/powered for the next 24 hours.

Anyone who witnesses you during this Effect's activation will almost certainly be disturbed to see an Eidolon of the Umbral variety. The act of meddling with other planes of existence does not come without some undesired side effects. Sometimes, when peering through the veil with the intent to make use of its energies, something stares back and imparts upon the onlooker a warning of disorienting magnitude. Requires an Anguish Roll..

  • When narrating disturbing content, be cognizant of your group's tone and accommodating to those who would like to "fast forward" through the description.
  • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.
  • Your target must be within line of sight, or within range of another sense if more fitting for the Gift's flavor.

The user creates a spectral shadow of that imbues into objects and allows a connection to be made with The Well. They manifest physically as specters that perform the tasks of the imbued object. They are extremely obvious and supernatural and while they will not communicate, they will diligently follow orders and handle the objects like mundane humans with a minor amount of skill would.

These spectral shadows take the form of those that died seeking perfection.

Standing Orders:
- These weapons are not to be used by anyone other than Luci unless she specifies otherwise.
- If control of the physical weapons is ever stolen from Luci or forced to bear their fangs towards Luci, the weapons will not fire until Luci says they can.
- These weapons are on orders to defend Luci from harm with Bullet Parry, unless told they are allowed to fire.
- These weapons will always be silent per the artifact firearms enhancement unless told otherwise.
- Luci's weapons are to only follow her orders if she says "Wry" before the order.
- Others are allowed to give these weapons orders if and only if they exactly refer to the weapons name in particular and say, "(X Weapons Name), 1998, Command" before each order.
- These orders can only be nullified or canceled if Luci says "The Sun Sets Beneath the Abyss."
- Only Luci is allowed to create new standing orders.

Exert your Mind and spend one minute. Select a Inanimate target within arm's reach which could fit inside a rolling luggage bag (50 liters). This Effect cannot be used unless the user is within the Hollow Choir.

Your target will become Animated for three hours. You may choose to end the effect at will, as a Free Action. This Artifact can maintain a max of 4 targets animated at once.

Animated Objects have the following restrictions and capabilities:

  • Awareness: Animated targets are capable of perceiving the world around them within reasonable limits. They cannot communicate in a clear or coherent way.
  • Movement: Animated targets can use an existing method of locomotion (wheels, etc); otherwise they can move across the ground or hover up to any height in the air at 40 feet per Round.
  • Combat: Animated objects are able to take offensive actions in combat. If they are a weapon, they receive bonus damage based on their weapon stats. GMs may add additional damage bonuses (or reductions) at their discretion depending on the size and material composition of the animated object.
  • Artifacts: Animated Artifacts can take actions using their own Effects. They do not have any Mind or Source, but you can Exert your Mind to "charge" them with Source. They may hold a maximum of 3 Source to use.
  • Ability Use: If an action requires a roll, Animated objects have a dice pool of 7 when performing a task for which they were designed, and a dice pool of 4 for taking any other actions. You may maintain Concentration in order to let your animated objects take actions using your own dice pool instead.
  • Toughness: Animated targets are as easy to destroy as they were prior to being animated. If destroyed, the effect ends.
  • Following Orders: Animated objects are controlled by the GM, and will follow any commands you give them, as long as they don't require problem-solving.

After you finish activating this Effect, you cannot move quicker than a walk (max 15 feet per Round) for one minute and suffer a -1 dice penalty for an hour. Exhaustion’s penalty and duration stacks with multiple activations.

You may only use this Effect once per day.

  • A hulking, car-sized statue might get a damage bonus of +4 if it hits, whereas a feather duster might have their damage capped at 0. Multiple attacking animated objects use mob rules.
  • Exhaustion penalties and duration stack. If you activate this Effect or another Effect with Exhaustion, your penalty will worsen, and the duration is increased by one hour.
  • A task for which an object was designed might include a broom sweeping, a gun shooting things, a car driving, a towel rubbing up on stuff, etc.
  • Animated objects may be more or less susceptible to certain attacks at GMs discretion. A scarecrow golem would be easily destroyed by a sword (or fire). An animated suit of armor may not fear bullets but could be smashed to bits with a hammer. A full bronze statue is largely indestructible but might have difficulty standing up if toppled.
  • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.
  • Your target must be within line of sight, or within range of another sense if more fitting for the Gift's flavor.

The user must place their hand upon the cover of the sketchbook and utter these words, "Hear my call. Pierce The Well and Manifest The Hollow Choir." They then must rip their hand away and swing it over their head. A flood of ink will erupt from the sketchbook like a harsh ocean storm wave and surge around the user. It does not wash people away when it crashes over them, but it will completely bathe them in total darkness, where all light is swallowed up and destroyed.

Those within will be able to hear the low droning groans of those that had died seeking perfection.

Those that are unfortunate enough to be close enough to see the user as they activate this effect will meet eyes with one of The Well's Eidolons. And take it from Luci herself, that is no fun experience.

This is an ability that Luci has had access to for some time- to open a wide portal connected directly to The Well. It was and still is a requirement each time she has to craft an artifact or upgrade an item, but she had conceded the process to dangerous to use outside of a controlled space, such as her tree house in the Imp's Bog. Well, sometimes, drastic times call for drastic measures.

This power is mainly used as a per-requisite for accessing some of the other effects on this sketchbook- some effects that are simply just too weak not to be able to use while not actively bathed in The Well. But sometimes, in a pinch, it can be used offensively.

At the very least, though, Luci had to limit the exposure of its effects in order to be able to copy this ability onto her sketchbook and control it at her own whim, or at least while she has control of her sketchbook.

Exert your Mind and spend an Action. You must make a Trauma roll when you use this Effect. Its Difficulty cannot be reduced by any means.

You create a hemispherical dome of inky blackness originating at your Location, with a radius of 60 feet. and lasting for 2 hours. You are fully immune to the effects of your zone. The area inside your zone is affected in the following ways:

  • Suppressed Vision: The zone is fully blocked from view. Nothing within the zone may see anything or be seen from the outside. Any rolls that rely on sight fail automatically, and any rolls that benefit from sight are made at -3 dice.
The zone expands immediately to its full size from the chosen Location, but will be stopped from spreading in a particular direction by any barriers or cover, and can only fit through openings large enough to fit a grown adult. If a new opening appears while the Effect is still active, it will finish spreading in that direction.

You may end this Effect prematurely as a Free Action.

Anyone who witnesses you during this Effect's activation will almost certainly be disturbed to see an Eidolon of the Well. The act of meddling with other planes of existence does not come without some undesired side effects. Sometimes, when peering through the veil with the intent to make use of its energies, something stares back and imparts upon the onlooker a warning of disorienting magnitude. Requires an Anguish Roll.

  • When narrating disturbing content, be cognizant of your group's tone and accommodating to those who would like to "fast forward" through the description.
  • The Effect does not follow you after you activate it.
  • If you select a location at the edge of your range, you will be just outside the zone once the Effect is activated
  • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.
  • Your target must be within line of sight, or within range of another sense if more fitting for the Gift's flavor.

Minerva's Oversized Trench Coat

Created by Luci Alessi, given to Minerva McAlaster.
Black trench coat that reaches all the way to the calves of a normal adult human. On the side of the arm, is the patch of a shattered snowflake. The sleeves and the bottom hem are pinned back to roughly her height. Covering the coat are softly glowing white specs that almost form constellations. When not being directly looked it, they move subtly. There's a small silver band sown into the right sleeve, with a kitsune outline shaped hole in it. There's a halo around it. Letters appear on the left sleeve near the wrist saying "V.C" when pressed a hologram keyboard would pop up allowing you to input code.
Crafted by Viktor Caetano ("Lex")

As the user activate the program on the watch a bright light would appear from the watch for a brief second before dimming down as a light blue shimmer ingulfs the user and a timer on the watch starts ticking down it starts at "1 Hour, 59 Minutes, 48 Seconds."

The code itself is rather normal, but whatever the Protocol is placed into is supernaturally enhanced when the code is activated that causes a force field to expand from the user onto the person.

Expend a point of Battery and spend an Action. Roll Intellect + Technology at Difficulty 6.

If you succeed, you create a barrier around yourself, which absorbs the next Outcome + 4 Damage. The Damage reduction from the barrier is applied before Armor. This Artifact may only have 1 active barrier at a time.

The barrier will fall after two hours, or if it absorbs the full amount of Damage. When a barrier falls, you cannot use this Effect again for a minimum of 2 Rounds.

Crafted by Bu Fang

A Neckerchief is a core part of a chef's kit. Allowing them to cool down from the sweat, providing a way to wipe away sweat, also being able to be used to wrap around wounds and injury, with it, though, one will also find there's another core component to it. Allowing one to wipe their mouths without staining their outfits! This neckerchief, specially designed, can do so much more though, increasing one natural health over time and allowing one to withstand many illnesses and foodborne disease!

You gain the following benefits as long as you are wearing this Artifact.

You get +4 dice to any Body resistance rolls you make. You also gain the following effects:

  • Instant Vitamins: You may Exert your Mind to convert your bonus resistance dice into additional Outcome to any Body resistance roll.
  • Internal Awareness: You are automatically aware of and may diagnose any disease, toxin, drug, or similar which enters your system.
  • Purge Toxins: You may take a Severity-1 Injury to cancel the effect of any non-Alien drug, poison, or toxin in your system, as long as you are aware of its existence.

  • These bonuses apply only to Body rolls made to resist Effects and other supernatural phenomena. They do not apply to other contexts such as attacks made while under the Creature Transformation Effect.
Crafted by Minerva McAlaster

The one bearing this map kneels, and holds it tightly in their hands. They close their eyes, and let out a breath.. and their mind slides into the Dreamlands. To people observing, the traveler appears to simply sleep kneeling.

To the one in the Dreamlands, they are in an unmapped part of the Dreamlands. The world around them is raw chaos, ever-shifting. It requires an incredible act of will to force this to resolve into something that can be understood. For not only are all potentials represented here, all times are. With focus, one can will the chaos into an image of something that happened in the past.

Spend a minute. Investigate an area with a radius of up to 20 feet At the end of your investigation, roll Charisma + Influence at Difficulty 6.

You learn the following information about the area:

  • You choose a specific type of event and receive a vision of the last time it occurred here.
The quality and specificity of information gained depends on your Outcome.

This Gift's Cost is capped at 2 and cannot be increased further.

  • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.
  • Your target must be within line of sight, or within range of another sense if more fitting for the Gift's flavor.
Crafted by Luci Alessi

Being so connected to the Well, Luci had long earned its protection from outside harm, but has grown to instead decide on shedding that facet from herself to infuse that energy into other objects or artifacts.

Rolling inky shadow rolls around on the inside of the object it's been infused into- commonly a piece of clothing. If that piece of clothing is hit by an attack, the shadowy refuse inside of the clothing will reflexively react, similar to reactive armor. It is concealed in this circumstance. If this artifact is upgraded to allow called shots not to be circumvented, shadowy blobs of ink will sprout from the various openings in the clothing piece to swat aside attacks.

You gain the following benefits as long as you are wearing this Artifact.

You have 6 Armor, which reduces incoming Damage. Armor from multiple sources does not stack. Called Shots may circumvent your Armor, depending on its coverage.

The process takes quite a bit of time, as Luci must properly bind this object to its ideal image by bathing it in The Well. A process that, if witnessed by a normal person, would likely result in some minor traumatic occurrences. Luci watches over the item the entire time to make sure it is not swallowed up into the inky mess. A lengthy sweat-inducing endeavor, but by its end, when Luci pulls the item from the reservoir, it is all worth it.

The items in question will sport a dark tint on the paint job and if Luci desires it, she can make its primary or secondary colors as dark as she wants. The symbol of The Well, a fragmented snowflake that closely resembles broken glass, will appear embossed somewhere visibly on the item, marking it as improved.

The Well is oblivion and vice versa. There is no being or creature exempt from the prices that it exacts upon those that meet it uncordially. And like a hook, when it sinks its fangs into you, it will rip you root and all at even the slightest weakness.

The Well is also eternal. As long as the universe turns and toils, and unless someone has the power to circumvent or mimic the powers of Oblivion, upgrades items will persist ad infinitum.

Idealism was always thought to exist solely in concept, to associate reality with mental ideals as opposed to material objects. That somewhere in the cosmic lands above, a perfect image of this "thing" exists, and only its material imitations are founded in "reality". But what if a material object could be elevated closer to the status of its ideal perfect image? A question Luci had asked herself for a period, and while it took some time, she managed to find a way.

This Artifact has been upgraded.

This Artifact receives 3 extra dice to all actions taken for its intended use. Attacking with an upgraded weapon grants +3 Weapon Damage instead of additional dice. While it is upgraded, the item cannot be destroyed. Upgraded Armor cannot be shredded. If it is a piece of Armor, it instead receives half that amount as bonus armor rating, rounded up.

Upgraded weapons count as any material your opponent might be particularly vulnerable to. Upgraded Armor cannot be circumvented by called shots. Upgraded Devices do not run out of fuel or energy.

  • "Destroyed" in this context means "prevented from functioning for its primary purpose", so for instance, an upgraded land mine would still explode as normal if triggered, even though it cannot be "destroyed" and a car's windows may still be broken.
  • Reminder: additional Weapon Damage granted by this Effect does not stack with any other bonus to Weapon Damage. Instead the largest bonus is used. The same is true for extra dice.
  • Extra dice from this Effect do not apply to Gift activation rolls.
Crafted by Polamedes

A simple silver ring with a single blue box with the number 0 etched into it. Uses Ram to power uses of it.

Expend a point of Battery and spend 1 minute. Choose a specific Injury on yourself that has not yet been treated with this Effect and roll Intellect + Technology at Difficulty 6.

If you succeed, the Injury is reduced in Severity by your Outcome. If you reduce its Severity to 0, the Injury is fully healed. Otherwise, it is partially healed and will heal the rest of the way at its natural rate.

This counts as a successful Makeshift Stabilization if the Injury was not already Stabilized; any Battle Scars caused by the Injury will remain.

Anyone who witnesses you during this Effect's activation or for its duration will almost certainly be disturbed to see The finger that the ring is applied too has the skin peel back around the ring and is fleenced all the way to the palm. In the opening thousands of tiny insects (nanomachines) flood out of the ring and into the opening created in the hand. Tiny lumps can be seen under the skin traveling into the body of the one they are healing. While healing the target the nanobots can be felt crawling within the targets body and are puked out upon completion..

  • When narrating disturbing content, be cognizant of your group's tone and accommodating to those who would like to "fast forward" through the description.
  • Unstabilized wounds do not degenerate during treatment.
Crafted by David Vance

When the band made by the above ritual is worn, it occasionally (every 4 hours or so) briefly flashes a translucent outline of its wielder’s body at peak condition (this is their “elemental”, the shell or outline of their soul), and the wielder is able to focus as if they themselves were at peak condition.

The band captures a person’s elemental, the shell of a person’s soul that is left behind in its movement, according to some of the occultist Helena Blavatsky’s teachings. By briefly redisplaying this shell over the user’s form, the user can synchronize their body with their soul at a healthier time. A necromantic ritual for “soul finding” has recently allowed David to find a more complete version of a person’s elemental, allowing this technique to synchronize a previous healthier mind as well.

You gain the following benefits as long as you are wearing this Artifact.

Your Stress from Injuries and Mind Damage is reduced to 0.

Starling 11" SH Series

Created by Valentine, given to Jason Brennings.
A black and white Baseball mitt with wear on the edges and broken in leather. The leather seems perfectly cared for and cleaned. There is a silver chain with a buckle connected to the wrist. In the pocket of the glove is a faded black circle, showing the years of usage.

The Mitt fits onto Valentine's hand like it's a part of them. Usually kept attached on their belt, When Valentine dons the mitt and gets ready for a pitch a small coagulation of pink and black liquid forms and takes the shape of a baseball.

A Gift from their parents.

This Artifact produces ephemeral projectiles that can be used as a shuriken. It is roughly the same size as a shuriken and just as difficult to conceal.

Attack by rolling Dexterity + Athletics, Difficulty 6. Successful attacks deal Contested Outcome +3 Weapon Damage. The target's Armor is fully effective against this damage. Attacks

You also gain the following effects:

  • Hail Storm: You may Exert your Mind to make an attack with against all targets within a 120 degree arc in front of you. Your full attack Outcome applies to each of them, but they may attempt to Dodge or Defend if they are aware of the attack.
  • Magic Quiver: Instead of throwing this Artifact, it is an object that produces an endless supply of temporary throwable objects. For example, bracers that allow you to throw ethereal javelins, or a sack of throwing rocks that doesn’t shrink when you withdraw one.
  • Ricochet: You can make a thrown attack against a target behind cover so long as there is at least one exposed pathway to them.

  • Created projectiles last only until they strike their target and cannot be shared or stockpiled.
  • Reminder: additional Weapon Damage granted by this Effect does not stack with any other bonus to Weapon Damage. Instead the largest bonus is used.

The inside of the glove hides a more alien visual, tendrils wrap around the hand as it's inserted and hold it in place.
The glove uses the user as the user uses the glove in a relationship of perfect symbiosis.
When returning to the creator, it sprouts leg like tendrils and crawls, shimmies, and leaps it's way back to Valentine.

This gift has been Marked by Valentine, Functioning as Homing beacon.

This Artifact cannot be broken.

If this Artifact is lost and in no one’s possession, it finds its way back to its creator during the next Downtime.

  • "Cannot be broken" means that damage cannot render the Artifact's Effects unusable, nor can it cease to be used for its primary mundane purpose, if it has one.

Gaze into the Abyss

Created and held by Evil Tom Saltnac.
A necklace with a circular bottom that features a pentagram

The user grabs the necklace and breathes out deeply and calmly. The victim is shown flashes of hell itself, pain and suffering.

Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select a Sapient target within 20 feet. Roll Charisma + Occult at Difficulty 6. Affected targets may resist by rolling Mind at Difficulty 8 with a -3 dice penalty. If they are incapacitated or unconscious, they fail automatically and their Outcome is 0.

If the Contested Outcome is positive, the target takes Mind damage equal to the Contested Outcome. If you deal at least 3 Mind damage, the target will gain a new Trauma selected by the GM. This Trauma may be removed by Effects or mundane therapy, as normal. Affected targets are aware that they are being attacked and can generally tell who did it.

  • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.
  • Your target must be within line of sight, or within range of another sense if more fitting for the Gift's flavor.

Magic Body Pillow

Created and held by Reginald Jackson.
A body pillow infused with unknown dark arts and strangely, Vocaloid hair. It stinks to high hell, and you can notice some suspicious stains on it. There is an illustration of a blue haired anime girl with twin tails on it holding a peace sign up. No one but the user knows what it's true power holds.

The user lays down the body pillow gently and begins reciting a speech from their favorite anime, others will witness the pillow begin to rise at first and will watch on in horror as the girl illustrated begins to form, layer by layer, bone, sinew, muscle, tissue, and hair all form into an adorable anime girl who will defend the user to the death if necessary.

Exert your Mind and spend two Actions performing the following ritual: Inspirational anime speech.. You must maintain Concentration while activating this Effect, and it fails if you are interrupted.

Summon a single Miku-Tan at your location. They will last for two hours, or until they are destroyed. They are controlled by the GM but will follow any commands you give. You may have at most 1 minion active at a time.

  • Attacking: Minions can make melee range attacks with 6 dice to attack and +2 Damage.
  • Body: Minions have 6 Body.
  • Movement: Minions can move 45 feet per Round as Free Movement, and double that when performing an all-out Sprint.
  • Intelligence: Minions have dog-level intelligence, and cannot communicate back to you. They cannot actively use Equipment.
  • Actions: Minions cannot dodge or Defend. Any Perception checks they make are rolled with 3 dice.

Reckoning.

Created and held by Ricochet Reuben.
A fairly typical Colt 45 Revolver, careful feather markings have been etched into it.

Despite looking like a normal pistol, with a simple decorative edge. Reuben holds this gun in high standard, sure, it’s a typical model chosen by cowboys, but it was his own first, and he stood by it then so he’ll stand by it now.

Many of the legends are true, a single bullet can slice through the bodies of more than just one.

This Artifact can be used as a handgun. It is roughly the same size as a handgun and just as difficult to conceal.

Attack by rolling Dexterity + Firearms, Difficulty 6. Successful attacks deal Contested Outcome +4 Weapon Damage.

You also gain the following effects:

  • Infinite Ammo: This weapon never runs out of its standard ammunition.
  • Keyhole: Any bullet that kills your target tumbles through their body and may strike a target in a 90 degree angle behind them. Any damage beyond that needed for the kill is applied to the secondary target.

  • Excess keyhole damage does not reapply the weapon's damage bonus and is affected by Armor as normal. The secondary target may React to the tumbled bullet if they have a Gift which lets them do so.
  • Reminder: additional Weapon Damage granted by this Effect does not stack with any other bonus to Weapon Damage. Instead the largest bonus is used.
  • Rifles are +1 Difficulty to use in melee range. Sniper Rifles are +3 Difficulty to use without a tripod or in melee range. Setting up a tripod takes an Action.

Stock Legendary Artifacts

You gain the following benefits as long as you are not at all wet and you are wearing this Artifact.

You are obscured in one of the following manners. You may Spend an Action to change the way in which you're concealed.

  • Sight:You are partially obscured from being noticed by sight. All attempts to detect you using sight are rolled at a -3 dice penalty, and all attempts to detect you where sight would assist are rolled at -1 penalty. Anyone who detects you cannot determine any visual details about you beyond your general shape.

While this Effect is active, any Effect that would obscure you from other, additional senses fails automatically. If someone discovers you, this Effect will not help you hide from them for the next minute. This Effect does not end early when you activate an obvious Effect, attack, or receive an Injury.

  • GMs should use their discretion when determining the exact impacts of this Effect, particularly in conjunction with environmental factors. Standing still against a complex background may render you impossible to detect, and footprints in snow may make it easy. A chance to detect you is not guaranteed.

This Artifact can change its appearance. When not transformed, it is roughly the same size as a passport and just as difficult to conceal.

Whenever you show this Artifact to someone, you may give a general description of an Object within the category of forms of identification, and anyone who hears the description and sees the Artifact will have their mind fill in the details to complete the illusion.

The way the Artifact is seen can mimic specific items (such as a particular painting, a certain person’s ID, etc), but must be of a similar size and weight to this Artifact.

The new appearance is illusory; it will hold up to scrutiny, but its composition is not altered and it gains no new functionality. Any attempt to use it for a function which it cannot perform (for instance, making bread look like a knife and then trying to stab someone) will cause the illusion to fail or allow a Perception check to see through the illusion, at the GM's discretion.

Take a Severity-1 Injury and spend one minute. Select a Dead target within arm's reach with at least half its skeletal structure remaining. You must make a Trauma roll when you use this Effect. Its Difficulty cannot be reduced by any means.

Your target rises as an Animate being. The raised creature is totally mindless, with no memory of its past life or hint of its old personality. They cannot communicate. They will follow any command you speak.

The creature lasts for eight hours or until it dies again. It is revived at full health. Any Injuries it had in life are not accounted for when determining its penalties or progression towards re-death, though they may affect its ability to perform certain actions at GM's discretion.

Raised creatures have their Abilities set to the same that they were in life. Their Charisma and Intellect are set to 1, but their Dexterity, Brawn and Perception are the same as they had in life. A raised creature cannot use any Effects.

Destroying one of your zombies requires a called shot to the head or heart. All other Injuries zombies suffer result in Battle Scars only, limiting their mobility and effectiveness in other ways.

Your revived targets deal 2 Weapon Damage with their unarmed attacks.

  • The called shot requires 4 Outcome dealing 4+ Damage or 6 Outcome dealing 2+ Damage.
  • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.
  • Your target must be within line of sight, or within range of another sense if more fitting for the Gift's flavor.

This Effect activates whenever you are recorded. It does not require an Action or Exertion. Select a Non-Sapient Object within 20 feet no larger than a duffel bag (35 liters). Roll Perception + Culture Difficulty 6.

If your Outcome is 4 or higher, the target will be completely destroyed and can no longer function, though it may still be repaired. If your Outcome is less than 4, the target will be partially damaged, and any attempts to use it will suffer a dice penalty equal to your Outcome.

  • When triggered, the Effect activation resolves immediately after the triggering Action. It is not Reaction speed.
  • The penalty from an object being damaged will stack with itself if a target is hit multiple times, but the object is destroyed when it reaches a total penalty of -4.
  • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.
  • Your target must be within line of sight, or within range of another sense if more fitting for the Gift's flavor.

This Effect activates whenever you are submerged in salt water. It does not require an Action or Exertion.

You transform into small for two hours or until you choose to end the Effect. See the Extended System text for stats.

While transformed, you cannot use any equipment (including Artifacts and Consumables), and you cannot use your Active, Direct, or Trap Powers. However, you can use your Passive Powers. Any equipment you are wearing transforms with you.

Injuries and Wound Level are carried over between forms. However, transforming can never kill you; you merely remain Incapacitated until your Injuries are sufficiently healed.

  • When triggered, the Effect activation resolves immediately after the triggering Action. It is not Reaction speed.
  • Creature Stats
    • Medium (large house cat up to human) Body 3. Brawn 1. Dexterity 3. Fall damage reduced by 1.
All creatures get +3 dice to any non-combat Action that they are naturally adapted for. All creatures Medium and larger may attack by rolling Body, dealing +0 Damage (+1 for “predators”). Gms and Playgroup leaders can apply other bonuses and effects to specific animals.
  • Animals that are quicker than humans (like dogs) have 50 feet of Free Movement. Animals that are very slow (like turtles) have 0 feet of Free Movement.
  • You cannot transform if there is not enough room to do so.
