Ring of Past Insight A Look into the Past

1
This Artifact allows you to discover details about an Object.
Used by Cecil Gennedy, Created by MDster.
On Signature Item Ring of Former Light.
(During Effect activation, you are obviously examining the target object. You must use this Artifact obviously when activating this Effect.)

Upon activation, a purple swirling light is seen emanating from each amethyst shard. The swirling lights converge around the target briefly, before dissipating. Nobody except the wearer can see the actual past of the target. The ring's bearer will see the room enveloped in a purple hue, with the target's past surroundings being shown first. The target's creation will be shown afterwards, with the purple hue becoming much darker to the wearer beforehand.

Expend a point of Battery and spend 2 Actions. Select a target Object within arm's reach. At the end of your investigation, roll Brawn + Investigation at Difficulty 6.

You learn all the following information about your target:

  • You receive past surroundings, allowing you to discern where this object has recently been.
  • You gather information about where the object was made and when.
The quality and specificity of information gained depends on your Outcome.

After you finish activating this Effect, you cannot move quicker than a walk (max 15 feet per Round) for one minute and suffer a -1 dice penalty for an hour. Exhaustion’s penalty and duration stacks with multiple activations.

  • Exhaustion penalties and duration stack. If you activate this Effect or another Effect with Exhaustion, your penalty will worsen, and the duration is increased by one hour.
  • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.
  • Your target must be within line of sight, or within range of another sense if more fitting for the Gift's flavor.

Spend an Action. Select a target within 300 feet. Roll a single D10 as a critical failure check. If you roll a 1, the Effect fails, and you gain battle scar: traumatic brain injurie. You must use up engraved bullet in order to activate this Effect. Roll Perception + Firearms Difficulty 6. The target may contest by rolling to Dodge or Defend as a Reaction, Difficulty 6.

If the Contested Outcome is positive, the target takes that much Damage plus 4. Armor is fully effective against this Damage.

If you successfully hit your target, the value of any Armor they are wearing is reduced by 2. For material armor, this penalty lasts until it is repaired. For intrinsic armor, it lasts until the end of Combat and any relevant wound is healed.

If the target suffers an Injury from this Effect, they will receive at least a Minor Battle Scar regardless of its Severity. When this Effect causes a Battle Scar, you may select which one of the appropriate level.

You are aware of the marked target's direction and distance from you. You can have up to 3 marks active.

They cannot move to a new location, and any physical actions they take suffer a dice penalty equal to twice the contested Outcome from the Effect activation, except attempts to escape or break the binding, which only suffer half this penalty.

The binding around a target must be destroyed in order for them to break free. Breaking the binding requires a total amount of damage equal to twice the contested Outcome from the Effect activation. Damage from multiple attacks is cumulative and stacks linearly.

  • For entities whose movement could be considered an attack (e.g. a kaiju), the GM may rule that they are merely slowed instead of fully restricted.

Exert your Mind and spend 15 minutes. Select a Living target within arm's reach. You must actively and obviously use basic medical supplies to activate this Effect. Choose a specific Injury on your target that has not yet been treated with this Effect and roll Intellect + Medicine at Difficulty 8.

If you succeed, the Injury is reduced in Severity by your Outcome. If you reduce its Severity to 0, the Injury is fully healed. Otherwise, it is partially healed and will heal the rest of the way at its natural rate.

This counts as a successful Makeshift Stabilization if the Injury was not already Stabilized; any Battle Scars caused by the Injury will remain. • You may not augment targets with pouches or implanted devices that are larger than they are.
  • Targets without Body ratings may have a maximum of 4 augmentations.
  • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.
