Spectral Lantern
The artifact contains an ethereal flame, which lies dormant until activated. Once activated the user can see their surroundings illuminated by a faith ethereal light that pierces obstacles. Others see the dormant gray flame awaken and flicker in its housing.

You may perceive through up to 15 feet of material. The Difficulty of all Perception rolls made through a wall are increased by 1 per wall.

- Your target must be within line of sight, or within range of another sense if more fitting for the Gift's flavor.

Charlatans

Nowadays you can't go a day without some phony prophet trying to peddle their wares to you.
Driven by the increased interest in the supernatural, charlatans from palm readers to televangelists are everywhere. And while the vast majority of witches, psychics, magicians, hypnotists, cures, potions, faith healers, and clairvoyants are complete fakes, they do make a living.
As the saying goes, "it's easier for an actor to make it in alternative medicine than Hollywood."
Most people scoff at these clearly-phony supernatural services, yet those same people often buy into at least one scam.
The most dangerous charlatans are the self-styled monster hunters who carry a mall-ninja arsenal and guns with silver bullets. Most have never encountered anything supernatural and do absolutely nothing besides burn some sage and patrol the area for a night or two. Even so, those who are superstitious, fearful, or desperate enough will hire them to solve the problems they simply don't understand. In some cases with disastrous results.
For Contractors, charlatans are red herrings and obstacles. Clumsy fakes that conjure a smokescreen of misinformation and escalate the situations they're in.

"Is the sun focused on the magnifying glass?"
If you are watching the individual using this power, you can see that he is actively holding a magnifying glass in his hand, sometimes bringing it up to his eye, but it seems that even while holding it, it doesn't look like he is doing much with it. You can see the person looking around, even at walls, and still somehow collecting information beyond it.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action to activate. You must actively and obviously use A Magnifying Glass to activate this Effect.
You may perceive things within 50 feet of you as though there were no walls or obstacles blocking your view for the next five minutes. You must maintain Concentration to keep up the effect.
Any Perception rolls made through obstacles are rolled at +1 Difficulty.
- You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.
Social Awareness
Can't sneak up on me now!
Activated intentionally via concentrating on the users surroundings as a whole, any living targets within the range are highlighted and brought to Ains' attention, but otherwise this power operates as normal, allowing Ains to percieve sight an upwards of 75 ft away.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. You must make a Trauma roll when you use this Effect. Its Difficulty cannot be reduced by any means.
You may perceive things through sight within 75 feet of you with perfect clarity as though there were no walls or obstacles blocking your view for the next 30 minutes.
You may perceive through up to 15 feet of material. The Difficulty of all Perception rolls made through a wall are increased by 1 per wall.
- You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.
- Your target must be within line of sight, or within range of another sense if more fitting for the Gift's flavor.
Sense above and beyond
See the unseen
Through a ritual Jules can see all. He has been able to use his power to see what need to be taken or get a better idea of what is around him. He can sense the world around him by speaking with spirits. Jules will do a ritual for the name of his goddess and let the blod flow!
Exert your Mind and spend one minute to activate. This Effect cannot be used unless Darkness/Shadows. You must use up Egyptian Beer in order to activate this Effect.
You may perceive things within 1 mile of you as though there were no walls or obstacles blocking your view for the next five minutes.
Any Perception rolls made through obstacles are rolled at +1 Difficulty.
After this Effect ends, you cannot move quicker than a walk for one minute and suffer a -1 dice penalty for an hour.
- You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.
Ever-Vigilant Eyes
"There you are."
After making a brief request to his benefactor and paying off the favor with a smoke break, Frank's face begins to flush a dreary black. Every ounce of his being begins to focus on his vision, his perception of the outside world... granting him the brief ability to view it all completely unhindered.
Exert your Mind and spend one minute. You must use up a cigarette in order to activate this Effect.
You may perceive things through sight within 500 feet of you with perfect clarity as though there were no walls or obstacles blocking your view for the next 30 minutes.
You may perceive through up to 15 feet of material. The Difficulty of all Perception rolls made through a wall are increased by 1 per wall.
- This does not satisfy the Line of Sight requirement for targeted Effects.
Remote Monitoring
"The first rule to avoiding conflict... is to not be there at all."
The Operator generates a micro-wormhole to the target location though which energy patterns can be observed. The output is analyzed by Lith and composed into a composite picture.
The creation of an undetectable (in this era, at least) micro-wormhole was one of Stellar Navy Intelligence's most closely guarded secrets. The ability to observe anywhere, at any time, gave an undeniable tactical advantage.
Exert your Mind and spend one minute. Select a target Location within 1 mile.
You may perceive things as if you were standing at that Location for the next 30 minutes. You may move your senses back and forth between your projected location and your real location without prematurely ending the effect. You may only have one projected location active at a time.
- This does not satisfy the Line of Sight requirement for targeted Effects.

Ear for Gossip
"Did you hear what she said about me?"
The influencer is 100% tuned-in to any sort of chatter about themselves. Any time someone nearby so much as whispers about them, they know who they were and what they said.
This Effect activates whenever someone talks about you. It does not require an Action or Exertion. Select a target Location within 75 feet. Your target should be intuitively based on the triggering event.
You may perceive things through hearing as if you were standing at that Location for the next 30 minutes. You must maintain Concentration to keep up the effect. You cannot perceive anything at your physical location while the effect is active.
- When triggered, the Effect activation resolves immediately after the triggering Action. It is not Reaction speed.
- This does not satisfy the Line of Sight requirement for targeted Effects.
Astral Glance
To see beyond, you must open your third eye.
The mystic enters a meditation while focusing on a remote location. A glowing sigil of an eye appears on their forehead, and a ghostly image of themselves meditating appears at the location they are envisioning. For a brief period, they may see the area they are projecting to as though they were standing there.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select a target Location within 75 feet.
You may perceive things as if you were standing at that Location. The effect lasts indefinitely but you must maintain Concentration to keep it up. You cannot perceive anything at your physical location while the effect is active.
You create a visible manifestation at the Location where your senses are projected which looks like a ghostly image of yourself meditating.
- This does not satisfy the Line of Sight requirement for targeted Effects.
