Because of the girls’ joint life force, Grace cannot be killed by mundane means. Perhaps she never could, or perhaps she hit a benchmark in power that solidified this. The only thing that can truly take her down is the removal of her belt of dead man’s hair, and of course, an exorcism. On the event of her death, Obedience and the rest of the menagerie leave with a heartbroken wail as all of Grace’s injuries, hunger, thirst, and exhaustion that were prevented by her catch up and wither the girl into a bloody husk.
When Grace and Obedience first met, Obedience saved her life. She had been fatally wounded, curled on the pavement and crying in a pathetic anger before her attacker. Neither of them wanted her to die, and that is the reason they joined in the first place. Light filtered through the blue, wraith-like form of her future best friend became some perversion of the light at the end of the tunnel… and she woke up healed.
You gain the following benefits at all times.
If you would take an Injury that would kill you, you don’t die. Instead, you survive in an Incapacitated state. This state lasts for the next hour, at which point you fully return to life.
While Incapacitated, your only weakness is A proper exorcism would drive out Obedience, who is the foundation of Grace’s life force., and if you take damage from it, you will die. Damage from other sources will still be dealt and can cause Battle Scars, but will never kill you. If your weakness is not immediately intuitive or obvious, attackers may be able to make some sort of knowledge roll to discover it, at GMs discretion. After you return, the Injury that would have killed you, as well as any Injuries sustained while Incapacitated, are healed. Battle scars obtained during this time remain.
When activated, Feng Giu plucks a specific guqin string, releasing a razor-thin soundwave visible as a faint ripple in the air. Observers hear a dissonant, high-pitched note like glass shattering in slow motion as the wave streaks toward the target.
Spend an Action. Select a target within 50 feet. Roll Charisma + Performance Difficulty 6. The target may contest by rolling to Dodge or Defend as a Reaction, Difficulty 6.
If the Contested Outcome is positive, the target takes that much Damage plus 2.
You may use this Effect to Defend against any melee, projectile, or firearm Attacks within range or Clash against any Attack targeted at you. Using it to Defend deals no Damage but does not cost Exertion.
The target suffers a -3 dice penalty for the next hour or until the Injury is healed. This dice penalty does not stack multiple times on the same target.
Anyone who witnesses you during this Effect's activation will almost certainly be disturbed to see The guqin’s note fractures into a chorus of human screams—echoes of past victims absorbed into the instrument’s resonance.
This Gift cannot have more than 3 Drawbacks, and its Gift Cost is capped at 2.
As Eric turns on his power, his eyes begin to glow with a golden light of intensity according to the strength of his outcome. Also, the air around him has a slight mirage effect, just a bit wavy.
This is a danger sense that allows Eric to use his preternatural awareness to subtly move so that an attack will miss him (hopefully). this is represented by the barrier absorbing damage. When the barrier is overloaded then that attack actually connected but was almost avoided which is why he was not hurt as much.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Roll Perception + Alertness at Difficulty 6.
If you succeed, you create a barrier around yourself, which absorbs the next Outcome +4 Damage. The Damage reduction from the barrier is applied before Armor. You may only have 1 active barrier at a time.
The barrier will fall after two hours, or if it absorbs the full amount of Damage. When a barrier falls, you cannot use this Effect again for a minimum of 2 Rounds.

Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select a Living or Sapient target within arm's reach. Roll Charisma + Influence at Difficulty 6. The target may resist by rolling Mind at Difficulty 6.

You are subject to the following effects while gliding or flying:
