This Artifact allows you to detect all nearby Spatial Disturbances and Mystical Items.
Created by leonvanderblight.
On Legendary Artifact The Inari Charm.
(You must actively and obviously be using up A katashiro. You must use this Artifact obviously when activating this Effect.)

Leon lays down flat and begins to close his eyes. His mind drifted into the embrace of yet another spirit brought into his service through the Inari charm. The Takarabune. A spirit much like the Inari that was originally connected with Woe, and the portent of a negative future and is now associated with the seven lucky gods, and in emulating the ritual many commit to on New Years, Leon can be granted a vision by the spirit as he passes through. Though in doing so he must enter a partially lucid dreaming state, and his eyes become cloudy and distorted even as the yokai guides him towards the items of value that are typically portrayed within the boat, as well as to the rifts to the spirit realm that call it home to dock once it is loaded. In doing so, however, he is not able to stop the Inari Charm itself from draining him heavily, and sometimes the spirit drinks too greedily leaving Leon more wounded than helped.

Take a Severity-1 Injury and spend at least two Actions performing the following ritual: Leon must lay down fully and place the picture under his head as he clasps the artifact between his hands and attempts to enter a lucid dreaming state for even just a moment to activate. You must use up A katashiro in order to activate this Effect. You must maintain Concentration while activating this Effect, and it fails if you are interrupted.

You automatically detect all Spatial Disturbances and Mystical Items within 1 mile of you for the next hour. You have a clear sense of both the distance and direction towards any detected items. You get details of what each detected item is, as if you've glanced at each object.

Even while this Effect is not active, if any Spatial Disturbances or Mystical Items come within 1 mile of you, you may roll Perception + Alertness, Difficulty 7 to detect them.

Even if there are no Spatial Disturbances or Mystical Items within 1 mile of you, you become aware of the direction the closest one is in, as well as a rough sense of its distance from you.

The means by which any Spatial Disturbances and Mystical Items are hidden or disguised is made clear to you, as well as how to access them if they are secured. This includes objects secured via the Stash Effect.

While this Effect is active, you are at -2 dice to all Actions and cannot Concentrate.

When you activate this Effect, roll a single D10. if the result is 5 or lower, you receive a Severity-1 Injury and a Minor Battle Scar.

You also gain the following effects:

  • Virtuoso's Vessel: When using this Device for its primary purpose, you always roll a minimum of 8 dice. Excludes Effect activation rolls.

You gain the following benefits as long as you are wearing this Artifact.

Your senses are enhanced in the following way.

  • Hearing: You are capable of perceiving physical shapes via sound. You must produce a eep to “ping” with your echolocation each Round you wish to use it.
  • Electroreception: You may detect electromagnetic fields, electric currents, and even neurological activity in a 50 foot radius from yourself at all times. When detecting neurological activity, you learn nothing but the creature's rough size.

Any senses which have been heightened cannot be overloaded. Battle Scars you receive cannot affect these senses.

  • Examples of overloading a sense include: an explosion causing temporary deafness, a bright light causing blindness, a sedative causing numbness, etc.
  • When you are within 50 feet of range, your electroreception sense is sufficient for aiming.

Exert your Mind and spend an hour to activate. Select a Living or Animate target within arm's reach. Select a Battle Scar on your target to treat.

The treated Battle Scar will heal immediately.

  • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.
  • Your target must be within line of sight, or within range of another sense if more fitting for the Gift's flavor.

Increase your sacrificial Injury's Severity by 1 and spend an Action. Select a Living target within 25 feet. You must use up Pixie Stick in order to activate this Effect. Roll Intellect + Investigation at Difficulty 6. Your target may resist by rolling Body at Difficulty 8.

If you succeed, the target is afflicted with a Condition that causes any number of the following symptoms:

  • Brain Fog: The target’s thoughts are muddled and incoherent. They must succeed a Mind roll to remember details of things, at Difficulty 7 for old details and Difficulty 9 for things which occurred while afflicted. They also take a -2 penalty to all mental actions, which grows by -1 every hour until it reaches your Outcome.
  • Disabled: The target suffers from an affliction that leaves them unable to act at full strength, such as physical pain, severe fever, intense fatigue, etc. They take a -2 penalty to all physical actions, which grows by -1 every hour until it reaches your Outcome.
  • Gross: The target exhibits significant and obvious signs of illness, making them into a social pariah. They will be shunned in public places, and take a -2 penalty to all social actions, which grows by -1 every hour until it reaches your Outcome.
  • Psychotic Episodes: The target must make a Trauma roll each hour at a -1 dice penalty, increasing each hour until it reaches your Outcome.
  • Poisoned: The target gains a Severity-1 Injury which ignores Armor and doesn’t heal naturally. For every hour that passes, they receive a new identical Injury. If this new Injury would kill them, they roll 1d10 at Difficulty 6. Success cures the condition; otherwise, they will die.
  • Wasting Away: The target’s body is being eaten away by the affliction. Immediately on being afflicted, and again for every hour that passes, they will obtain a new Major or Minor Battle Scar.
Symptoms begin to appear immediately, and will remain and continue to worsen until the affliction is cured. The affliction is not contagious and will not spread to others.

The affliction is not treatable by modern medicine. It may be diagnosed by rolling Intellect + Influence at Difficulty 6, and can be cured by Renouncing your sins to any roomba.

Any Scars, Traumas, or Injuries caused by your symptoms cannot be healed until the underlying Condition is cured.

You may cure any target you’ve afflicted at any range as a Quick Action.

Anyone who witnesses you during this Effect's activation will almost certainly be disturbed to see Cancer bro. Instant.

You also receive any Conditions which you inflict on others, and cannot make a resistance roll to avoid them.

  • The sacrificial Injury received from activating this Effect cannot be prevented by any means or healed before 1 day has passed. It is shared with all Effects that use sacrifice. This Injury does not requires Stabilization or cause Battle Scars when it becomes Severe.
  • Successfully diagnosing an affliction also includes information about the treatment method.
  • The chosen method of treatment must be something that you could obtain in a small town given an afternoon.
  • Curing an affliction removes the Condition, but does not automatically heal any Injuries, Battle Scars, or Traumas which may have been caused by that condition.
  • This Effect’s symptoms do not stack with themselves on multiple applications.
  • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.
  • Your target must be within line of sight, or within range of another sense if more fitting for the Gift's flavor.
