The mists begin to raise out of the ground, curling around Elizabeth's legs before spreading out, settling in the area. The fogs intensify, and in a blink, you can only see ahead of your nose.
Elizabeth, one of the mistwalkers, is favoured by them. They never fully block her vision, although it is harder to see.
Spend an Action. Select a Location within 60 feet of you. You must actively and obviously use a small vial containing the mists of the mist house to activate this Effect.
You create a hemispherical dome of mist and fog originating at the chosen Location, with a radius of 60 feet, and lasting for 5 minutes. While active, you are always fully affected by your zone as if you were standing in it. The area inside your zone is affected in the following ways:
Your zone blends with the environment, seeming to arise naturally from local effects. Observers who roll Perception + Alertness and achieve an Outcome 4 or higher notice that it is unnatural.
This Gift's Cost is capped at 2 and cannot be increased further.

As Jacob activates the “Talents Phone,” its screen comes to life with a familiar glow, indicating its readiness to establish a connection. Unbeknownst to Jacob, the device taps into a powerful magical phenomenon, creating a subtle yet potent effect that transcends ordinary communication.
On the recipient’s end, their phone buzzes with an incoming video call notification, displaying Jacob’s face or an unknown caller icon. As they accept the call, the screen transforms into a window, revealing a live feed of Jacob’s face on the other side. Despite their confusion, the recipient finds themselves drawn into the image, their attention focused solely on Jacob’s presence.
As Jacob begins to speak, the magical essence of the “Talents Phone” subtly enhances the connection, imbuing the video feed with a sense of depth and clarity that transcends ordinary technology. Despite any technological limitations or Jacob’s own misunderstanding, the video feed remains stable and clear, allowing for seamless communication between the two parties.
Unaware of the artifact’s true power, Jacob continues to use the “Talents Phone” with a mix of awe and ignorance, never realizing that each call creates a subtle yet profound effect that bridges the gap between him and his intended recipient. And as the conversation unfolds, the magic of the “Talents Phone” quietly weaves its spell, ensuring that Jacob’s words reach their destination with clarity and precision, regardless of the distance between them.
Spend an Action. Select a target any distance away from you. You must have a specific target in mind, but you require only an intuitive understanding of them, such as their name, face, or Location. This Effect cannot be used unless The target must accept the call and The Target Must have access to a device that can make calls.
You open up a line of communication to your target, and may converse with them as long as one of you maintains Concentration
The conversation will only be perceived by the intended recipient. You must share a common language for your target to understand the message.
You may send any physical Object that would fit into a backpack with your message. Such messages take one minute to arrive and always cost Exertion. Any active timers, fuses, or traps on the objects are triggered when you attempt to send them.
charging a dart with her unstable energy, Sara can paralyze most targets she fires the dart into. Unfortunately, others can also use said dart, if they get their hands on it
Use up this ________ and spend an Action to activate. Make a Dart attack at a Living target within normal attack range. Roll your for your attack as normal. The target may roll to dodge or defend, as normal for Dart attacks. The attack may or may not deal Damage as per a normal attack, at the user's choice.
If you succeed, your target becomes drowsy for the next 30 seconds, during which time they suffer an additional -3 dice Penalty to all Actions. After this, they fall into a state of sleep paralysis for Outcome x 3 minutes. During this time, they remain fully conscious and aware of their surroundings but are incapable of taking any actions.
Affected targets will not prematurely wake up on their own, but may still be woken up by sudden loud noises, being jarred or splashed with water, taking damage, or similar rousing events. They will also awaken before dying of hunger, thirst, or suffocation.
An affected target's dreams while they are asleep will involve you in some way, and will reveal you as the source of their sleep as well as reveal secret information about yourself to them.
When an affected target wakes up, they remain drowsy for the next minute, and suffer a -3 dice penalty. If an affected target successfully resists being put to sleep, they will still become drowsy for the next minute, and will suffer the same penalty.
Eugene spends time eyeing up a person, being able to tell intricate details about themselves visually.
Using "Superheroes" instead of "Culture" for rolls.
Spend a minute. Select a Sapient target within 20 feet. Make a Trauma roll when you activate this Effect. At the end of your investigation, roll Intellect + Culture at Difficulty 6. The target resists by rolling Mind at Difficulty 7.
You learn all the following information about your target:

This Gift's Cost is capped at 2 and cannot be increased further.
Kurt seems to laugh to themselves immediately before something out of the ordinary happens, a computer is unlocked, the camera turns off due to an unexplained power outage at just the right time.
Exert your Mind and spend 2 Actions. Select a Device within 300 feet. Can be used on Alien technology. Roll Intellect + Crafts, with the Difficulty set by the GM depending on the security of the system you are hacking. Sapient targets can resist by rolling Mind at Difficulty 6.
If you succeed, you may issue a single command to the targeted system. This command must have a specific outcome or be a request for specific login credentials. The command you issue must be within the machine's current capabilities. For example, you cannot order a standard security camera to grow legs and walk around.
You may issue a "self-destruct" command that leaves the hacked system's hardware inoperable, even if that machine had no such functionality previously. Only works on Computers.
This Effect is not obvious, and the only sign you are using an Effect is Kurt seems to laugh to themselves. If someone suspects that an Effect was used, they must roll Perception + Alertness, Difficulty 8 to pick up on your Tell.
Your command does not have to take effect immediately. Instead, upon a successful Hack, you may specify a condition under which the specified command is issued or simply suspend the Command until you desire to activate it.
If your command does not require bypassing the security of the target (for example, typing on a computer that is unlocked), you do not need to Exert your Mind to activate this Effect, and activation only takes a single Action.
When targeting non-computer devices, you may operate switches, buttons, dials, levers, and latches.
Your hack cannot be discovered by system administrators or firewall software for a number of hours equal to your Outcome on the initial roll.
You touch the gem nestled at your throat, and your eyes begin to glow a blueish violet. An electric laser bursts forth from your eyes, melting through its target with the force of its power.
Spend an Action. Select a target within 50 feet. You must actively and obviously use The Obsidian Amethyst to activate this Effect. Roll Brawn + Firearms Difficulty 6. The target may contest by rolling to Dodge or Defend as a Reaction, Difficulty 6.
If the Contested Outcome is positive, the target takes that much Damage plus 4.
You may use this Effect to Defend against any melee, projectile, or firearm Attacks within range or Clash against any Attack targeted at you. Using it to Defend deals no Damage but does not cost Exertion.
This Gift cannot have more than 3 Drawbacks, and its Gift Cost is capped at 2.
The Vampire is able to turn one of their victims into a lesser vampire, a pale shadow of a full creature of the night but useful nonetheless. Having drained and killed their target, the Vampire performs a brief ritualistic bloodletting, wherein they spill their own blood into the target's mouth, forcing them to drink, and bonding them together as child and sire.
Shortly afterwards, the fledgling vampire will rise from death, hungry for blood and eager to serve.
Increase your sacrificial Injury's Severity by 1 and spend one minute. Select a Dead target within arm's reach that has died within the last hour. This Effect cannot be used unless you drained the target's blood while they were still alive.
Your target rises as an Animate being. The raised creature is totally mindless, with no memory of its past life or hint of its old personality. They cannot communicate. They will follow any command you speak.
The creature lasts until it dies again. It is revived at full health. Any Injuries it had in life are not accounted for when determining its penalties or progression towards re-death, though they may affect its ability to perform certain actions at GM's discretion. The raised creature must consume flesh every day or it will die again.
Raised creatures have their Abilities set to the same that they were in life. Their Charisma and Intellect are set to 1, but their Dexterity, Brawn and Perception are the same as they had in life. A raised creature cannot use any Effects.
Your revived targets deal 2 Weapon Damage with their unarmed attacks.
If you do not have a sacrificial Injury when you activate this Effect, take a new Severity-1 Injury.
The detective can learn a lot by watching someone for a minute. Each subtle detail, every unexplained stain, reveals something about where the target has been. Ocassionally, they'll drop a business card, or explain how to contact them. The detective is listening.
Exert your Mind (unless you win a coin flip) and spend a minute. Select a Sapient target within 20 feet. This Effect cannot be used unless the target does not know you're watching them. At the end of your investigation, roll Charisma + Investigation at Difficulty 6.
You learn a single specific piece of information, chosen from the following list, about your target:
The quality and specificity of information gained depends on your Outcome.
You cannot investigate the same target more than once per day.
The mutant now occasionally lays large, orange-speckled eggs. These Eggs do not hatch nor spoil. If cracked and applied to a chronic injury such as a missing limb, the scar heals completely within the hour. However, any area healed by the egg will forever carry an inhuman appearance as testament to the bizarre method of treatment.
Spend a minute and use up this unusually large egg (unless you succeed on 1d10, Difficulty 7). Select a Living target within arm's reach. Select a Battle Scar on your target to treat.
The treated Battle Scar heals as you finish activating this Effect. If used on a Battle Scar caused by an Unstabilized Injury, that Injury is Stabilized.
Healing a Battle Scar in this way leaves behind an inhuman attribute such as fur, scales, or feathers on the target which cannot be healed.
The detective pulls out their magnifying glass and investigates the area, learning details about any nearby structures and picking up details on what sorts of beings have passed through and when.

Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select a Non-Alien, Non-Sapient, Animate target within 20 feet. This Effect cannot be used unless the target is undead.
For the next day, you may issue specific commands to your target which they will be compelled to follow.
Your commands must be relatively simple and within the target’s intellectual grasp. You cannot make them obviously endanger themselves or violate their instinct for self-preservation. The effects of the command will fade after a day has passed.
