This Artifact grants you the ability to communicate with Creatures and humans.

As he walks around in everyday life, he, despite being a fox, can communicate with other people at his leisure while in the suit. Without it, he can't quite find the words in order to say what he wants.

You gain the following benefits as long as you are wearing this Artifact.

You may understand and communicate to Creatures and humans as if you are fluent in a relevant language.

  • Communing with creatures does not grant them intellect but does allow you to converse with them.
  • The target of "human" refers to any target that speaks a human language.

Community Commune Gifts

Exert your Mind and spend one minute. You must actively and obviously use an inhaler to activate this Effect.

You may understand and communicate to humans and Sapient beings as if you are fluent in a relevant language for the next hour.

This also includes understanding any recorded communications from the relevant targets, including writings, scent trails, etc.

Whenever you encounter a Language you could commune in with this Effect, you immediately understand which language it is, the dialect, region, and other details about it.

If you use this Effect to spend an hour speaking with a native speaker of a human language you don't know, you may Exert your Mind and roll Intellect + Culture Difficulty 7. With Outcome 4 or higher, you permanently learn that language and accent.

You may only use this Effect once per day.

  • The target of "human" refers to any target that speaks a human language.
  • When reading written communications, you get no information beyond what the writer was intending to communicate.

Mel’s mind opens more the the world of the supernatural. With some focus he can call up the dead, and talk to them.

Exert your Mind and spend one minute. Select a Dead target within 50 feet. For dead targets, you must possess their True Name.

The target can communicate in your language for the next hour.

This Effect is not obvious, and the only sign you are using an Effect is Mel furrows his brow and looks at the target. If someone suspects that an Effect was used, they must roll Perception + Alertness, Difficulty 8 to pick up on your Tell.

You may only use this Effect once per target per day.

  • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.
  • Your target must be within line of sight, or within range of another sense if more fitting for the Gift's flavor.

While active, you may choose to use glib tongue. When you do, anything you say (even gibberish) will be exactly what the target wants to hear. You gain no understanding of what that might be.
