The Rewinder

Created and held by Charles Wimpernickle.
Bronze pocket that was made by "the inventor" a well renown artisan from the victorian era

asd

You gain the following benefits as long as you are wearing this Artifact.

Any Injury you receive heals quickly, reducing its Severity by one level every 6 hours, starting once it becomes stabilized. You may also Exert your Mind and spend an Action to reduce the Severity of a single stabilized Injury by 1. Does not affect Injuries suffered as an activation cost for Effects.

Battle Scars caused by your Injuries will remain. Any Injuries you receive automatically count as a successful Makeshift Stabilization and do not deteriorate further.

Swirly Sand Pouch

Created and held by Balthazar The Magic Guy.
A Dazzling Pouch containing freshly ground sand

A pinch of sand thrown upon the ground. Once imbued into the leylines it attracts other sand within the material it's on to bend to the casters will.

Exert your Mind (unless you are Sculpting) and spend an Action. Select a Location within 50 feet. This Effect cannot be used unless Inspected if the area contains sand. You must use up A pouch of freshly ground sand in order to activate this Effect.

Select one of the following alterations to create out of Sand (Silica) originating at the target:

  • Sculpt: Sculpt a surface made of Sand (Silica) up to 40 feet by 40 feet. You may make aesthetic changes or minor functional improvements like a ladder or stairs. You may sculpt windows, doors, and similar alterations into structures you created with this Effect.
  • Wall: Create a straight wall made of Sand (Silica) up to 40 feet long, 10 feet high, and 12 inches thick. This wall can also be used to create a bridge, ramp, or similar. It must be free-standing.

The alteration begins to form when you activate this Effect and finishes forming on your initiative in the next Round. Until it finishes forming, it is not guaranteed to function.

This alteration lasts three hours but may be prematurely destroyed or altered. Your alterations may be broken through with appropriate tools. Anyone attempting to break through must roll Brawn + a relevant Ability. A cumulative Outcome of 6 across all attempts breaks a hole large enough to move through. See the extended system text for GM guidance on various tools.

You may sculpt your walls, domes, or tunnels as you create them, without any additional activation time or cost.

Anyone who tries to climb or move across your alterations takes 2 Damage each time they do so. Such alterations are obviously dangerous.

  • Attempting to break any alterations with inappropriate tools may damage or destroy the tools at the GM's discretion.
  • Any structures you create leave precise gaps for obstacles in their path or push them out of the way. You cannot directly destroy objects or structures or damage beings by creating walls or domes.
  • Tool guidance for GMs:
    • Difficulty 9: Brawn 5, no tools.
    • Difficulty 7-8: One-handed tools or makeshift tools (like a sword). Mythic Brawn without tools.
    • Difficulty 6: Appropriate manual tools. Crowbar, sledgehammer, armor-piercing sword, unarmed mastery with Armored Fist.
    • Difficulty 4-5: Power tools, vehicles, explosives.
  • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.
  • Your target must be within line of sight, or within range of another sense if more fitting for the Gift's flavor.

The Whispering Hate

Created and held by Frank McCombs.
A scorpion-like creature roughly the size of a house cat, with a pale white carapace and a mass of ghostly blue tendrils in place of a tail. It displays intelligence similar to that of a parrot, and likes to watch children's cartoons. It has decided on being referred to as Patrick should someone inquire, due to its favorite cartoon character.

The Whispering Hate's Tendrils glow a bright red color before ejecting a mass of soul energy towards the target.

Roll Dexterity+Animals in place of Dexterity+Firearms to coax the creature to attack.

This Artifact can be used as a crossbow. It is roughly the same size as a crossbow and just as difficult to conceal.

Attack by rolling Dexterity + Firearms, Difficulty 6. Successful attacks deal Contested Outcome +2 Weapon Damage. Attacks do not require a successful called shot to do damage.

This item is a living thing. When targeted, it counts as a Living Creature in addition to its other target types. If destroyed or abandoned for more than two days, it dies and becomes unusable.

You also gain the following effects:

  • Infinite Ammo: This weapon never runs out of its standard ammunition.
  • Leave No Trace: Your projectiles crumble or vanish after impact, leaving no meaningful trace of your assault beyond the wounds they leave. If your attack would kill or incapacitate your target, they make no sound, even incidentally, for the next Round.
  • Not Quite Flying: You may Exert your Mind and use up your Movement to “follow” any attack using this weapon, traveling right next to its point of impact.
  • Ultra-Shot: Spend one Action preparing an attack. This does not count as Aiming. Next Round you may make an attack as though the range of this weapon was 1200 feet

  • The attack must be the primary form of attack for this weapon.
  • Reminder: additional Weapon Damage granted by this Effect does not stack with any other bonus to Weapon Damage. Instead the largest bonus is used.

Frank's soul is partially embedded in the Whispering Hate, making it essentially an extension of himself.

This Artifact cannot be broken.

If this Artifact is lost and in no one’s possession, it finds its way back to its creator during the next Downtime.

This Artifact's creator is always aware of the direction and distance to this Artifact.

This Artifact's creator must have it with them to have restful sleep. They cannot regain Mind or Source while separated from this Artifact.

  • "Cannot be broken" means that damage cannot render the Artifact's Effects unusable, nor can it cease to be used for its primary mundane purpose, if it has one.

Death cry

Created by Iktan, given to Harry Johnson.
An obsidian collorred rock encrusted into a ring

The artifact shines a light on the dead. It beggines to be absorbed as the carcass becomes reanimated. Their Eyes are green like jade stone. When ordering the undead the casters face becomes adorend with a skull mask.

Exert your Mind and spend one minute. Select a Dead target within arm's reach that has died within the last month.

Your target rises as an Animate being. The raised creature is totally mindless, with no memory of its past life or hint of its old personality. They cannot communicate. They will follow any command you speak.

The creature lasts for eight hours or until it dies again. It is revived at full health. Any Injuries it had in life are not accounted for when determining its penalties or progression towards re-death, though they may affect its ability to perform certain actions at GM's discretion.

Raised creatures have their Abilities set to the same that they were in life. Their Charisma and Intellect are set to 1, but their Dexterity, Brawn and Perception are the same as they had in life. A raised creature cannot use any Effects.

You may only use this Effect once per day.

  • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.
  • Your target must be within line of sight, or within range of another sense if more fitting for the Gift's flavor.

Experimental AegisTech Combat Helmet

Created and held by Viktor Caetano ("Lex").
What seems like a full face mask of metal and colored bulletproof glass seems to cover the users entire face with the lower half of it acting as a gas mask. The Gas mask itself seems to be made out of small black metal, with the exception be the two filter areas which seems to allow air flow into the mask, it is to note whatever air is breathed out seems to have a purple and blue hue to it.

Integrated into the helmet of whatever it may be that you are wearing, sending 'Mana' passed and all around the head area, creating some sort of Faraday Cage stopping outside influences from taking hold. seems to block incoming influences as well as limiting the impact of those that make it through.

Although it is to be known that it either fully stops the effect or it fully takes hold with the 'Mana' reinforcing whatever the effect is.

You gain the following benefits as long as you are wearing this Artifact.

You get +2 dice to any Mind resistance rolls you make. You also gain the following effects:

  • Compartmentalizing: You can take a maximum of 1 Mind Damage per Round.
  • Clash Of Wills: If you fail to fully resist an Effect, your Outcome is considered to be 0.

  • If you have an Effect that allows you to Exert your Mind more than once per Round, each Exertion still causes one Mind Damage.
  • These bonuses apply only to Mind rolls made to resist Effects and other supernatural phenomena. They do not apply to Trauma rolls or self-control rolls.

A Hi-Tech half-mask, gas mask with a built in filtration system, also has a port to allow oxygen tubes. It stops all diseases that may be in the air or helps fend off any affliction that may affect the user.

The Gas Mask itself is rather normal with it looking Hi-Tech with small lightweight metal plates covering the outside. What makes this gas mask different is the filtration system itself, with making two small containment areas inside the two filter air filter areas, with the air being breathed in being imbued by 'Mana'. Which in turn either helps the body resist any effects or any diseases in his body, although it is to be known that the 'Mana' inside the mask seems to either help or doesn't and it also seems to weigh heavy on the mind of the user.

  • Survivor: You are immune to all non-Alien diseases.
  • All Brawn No Brain: You suffer a -2 dice penalty on Mind resistance rolls.
  • Got It Bad: If you fail to fully resist an Effect, your Outcome is considered to be 0.
