Legendary Artifact

Frangiclave

Created and held by Rasmus Kovacs.

The key is inserted into the closed/locked object and turned, causing it to open. The key fits even if it shouldn't and, if there is no keyhole at all, it slides into a seam of violet light at the target's surface.

The Frangiclave is a legendary key that is the physical manifestation of the concept of "opening." It is capable of opening any lock or door, any many other things besides depending on its user's knowledge and creativity. It cannot be stored away, and must be kept in the hand or under the tongue.

Spend an Action. Select a Non-Alien door, container, knot, or lock within 20 feet. This Effect cannot be used unless it is to unlock/open the target and any locks are destroyed.

You may lock, unlock, and/or open your target.

If you successfully operate a lock, you may choose to destroy it, rendering it inoperable.

  • Operating some locking mechanisms through this Effect may have a secondary effect, such as a turn-key ignition on an older or cheaper car causing it to start or stop. Note that the locking mechanism itself must satisfy the standard targeting requirements (including line of sight), not just the vehicle.
  • Any mechanism that requires a key, keycard, key fob, or combination may be considered locked, at the GM's discretion. This Effect may be used on doors and containers secured with control panels or other electronic locks, but not computer security systems at large.
  • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.
  • Your target must be within line of sight, or within range of another sense if more fitting for the Gift's flavor.

The wielder swipes at their target with the Frangiclaive and the target opens in ways that they're not supposed to.

Exert your Mind (unless you win a coin flip) and spend an Action. Select a target within 45 feet. Roll Intellect + Occult Difficulty 6. The target may contest by rolling to Dodge or Defend as a Reaction, Difficulty 6.

If the Contested Outcome is positive, the target takes that much Damage plus 4. Armor is fully effective against this Damage.

The target suffers a -3 dice penalty for the next hour or until the Injury is healed. This dice penalty does not stack multiple times on the same target.

If you successfully hit your target, the value of any Armor they are wearing is reduced by 2. For material armor, this penalty lasts until it is repaired. For intrinsic armor, it lasts until the end of Combat and any relevant wound is healed.

  • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.
  • Your target must be within line of sight, or within range of another sense if more fitting for the Gift's flavor.

Community Artifacts

'Mana' Enhanced Combat Suit (MECS)

Created and held by Viktor Caetano ("Lex").
The Enhanced Combat Suit, powered by mana, seamlessly combines advanced technology with arcane enhancements. It provides Viktor with enhanced agility, protection, and the ability to channel bursts of arcane energy for strategic maneuvers in high-stakes engagements

Connected to each joint of the user are servo motors designed to accelerate the users speed and make them faster than they normally are, although looking at the servo motors they do seem to have blue light coming from the center of them.

You gain the following benefits as long as you are wearing this Artifact.

Whenever you use your Movement, after all other calculations, the distance you may travel is doubled.

  • Any Encumbrance penalty to your movement still applies, but you do not suffer from any sort of exhaustion.
  • Damage from a collision depends on your speed at the time, as well as what you hit. GM's discretion, but generally moving faster than a car on the freeway and hitting a dense, solid object like a wall or a tree should be lethal. Mundane armor will not apply, but any supernatural forms of protection will.

Flaming Sword of Vengeance

Created and held by Chamael.
A thin sword of a gray-blue metal. Ornately engraved with the lords prayer, and radiating holy flame

An otherworldly blade forged of the First Matter., radiating a white holy fire. It radiates absolute authoritative purging destruction.

This Artifact can be used as a sword / axe. It is roughly at least twice as large as a sword / axe and cannot be concealed on your person or disassembled for storage.

Attack by rolling Brawn + Melee, Difficulty 6. Successful attacks deal Contested Outcome +8 Weapon Damage.

You also gain the following effects:

  • Blade Breaker: If you successfully Defend against a melee attack or if an opponent is unsuccessful at Defending against your melee attack, you may break your opponent's weapon.
  • Pin: If you Injure a target with an Attack, you may choose to leave your weapon. If you do, the target is “pinned” to that location until the weapon is removed. Removing the weapon increases the Severity of that Injury by 2.

  • This Artifact cannot be disguised or morphed with other Effects like Shape-Changing object.
  • Reminder: additional Weapon Damage granted by this Effect does not stack with any other bonus to Weapon Damage. Instead the largest bonus is used.

Clockwork Dial

Created and held by Ezekiel "Zeke" Keele.
A fine, obsidian wristwatch passed down throughout generations, bearing the memories of those who wore it before. Though analogue in design, fine markings across the dial allow one to observe the time down to even a passing millisecond. However, its hands occasionally require tuning when it is used to disrupt the passage of time. Engraved on its back are the words, "Never Forget."

Adjusting the hands on the watch, the user manipulates their position in time to displace themselves within space, leaving behind a blurry, glitch-like duplicate in place of where they're supposed to be.

Exert your Mind (unless you spend 10 minutes casting) and spend an Action or Reaction. You must make a Trauma roll when you use this Effect. Its Difficulty cannot be reduced by any means.

You phase out of reality for up to 1 hour. During this time, you cannot affect the outside world (other than non-combat Actions using your hands, at +2 Difficulty) or take any Actions. You may move as normal while phased out. You may pass through walls and "climb" up and down through solid material at normal climbing speeds. Nothing can interact with you in any way.

When you activate this Effect, you may limit its duration to a period of your choosing. If you are able, you may also end it as a Free Action on your initiative.

You leave a blurry, glitch-like time duplicate at your location.

Possession of this Artifact causes the following Battle Scar to manifest over the course of a day: Clock Hand: The forces of time take a significant toll on that which the watch is attached to. Called shots against your watch hand do +2 damage and Clock Arm: The watch continues to drain the vitality of which it is attached to. Whenever your left shoulder takes a major blow or is otherwise put under stress the GM may dislocate it. A dislocated limb cannot be used until you Exert your Mind and spend an Action to reset it.. If they lose possession of this Artifact, the Battle Scar heals over the course of the next day.

Anyone who touches this Artifact will notice it warping their mind and may drop it. If they choose to hold or use it, they immediately receive the following Trauma: Past Lives: The memories and experiences of previous timekeepers are muddled with your own. Any time you are asked about yourself, or are offering information about yourself, you must succeed a Self-Control roll in order to tell the truth. On a failure, you instead answer as if you were a separate person, and genuinely believe yourself to be telling the truth (The GM may determine this). If they lose possession of this Artifact, the Trauma heals over the course of the next day.

  • If you phase in while intersecting with solid material, you take a severe, potentially-lethal Injury.
  • Any items and equipment on your person become intangible along with you. You cannot interact with them, as they are intangible.
  • Effects that do not require a physical target may still affect you.
  • If you use this Effect to dodge as a Reaction, it succeeds without the need for a roll. Cannot be used as a Desperate Defense.
  • You may use your Free Movement on the Round you phase back in, but you cannot take an Action.

Winding the hands of the dial forward, the user accelerates their personal flow of time to move at extreme speeds. During activation, the user's voice becomes distorted and glitched-- echoing over itself as they repeat an extended series of chants to themselves, oaths of their duties toward the timeline.

Exert your Mind and spend two Actions performing the following ritual: winding the dial's hand forward and chanting. You must maintain Concentration while activating this Effect, and it fails if you are interrupted. You must make a Trauma roll when you use this Effect. Its Difficulty cannot be reduced by any means.

Lasts 1 hour. Whenever you use your Movement, after all other calculations, the distance you may travel is doubled.

If your last Action was used for an all-out sprint or you are already accelerated, you may spend an Action to accelerate without a roll, adding 250 feet/Round (not affected by your speed bonus) to your sprint speed, to a max of an extra 750 feet/Round. As long as you stay at these speeds, you may use this distance per Round as your Free Movement.

Any terrain you traverse while accelerated must be passable by a standard vehicle at similar speeds. Stopping, turning sharply, or decelerating more than 250 feet/Round must be performed as an Action. Failing to decelerate with an Action (whether because of an obstacle, sudden unfavorable terrain, an Injury, or other event) counts as a tumble or catastrophic vehicle collision as per the vehicle rules.

Outside of Combat, any non-Gift, non-movement Actions you attempt take drastically less time to complete, as long as your personal speed is a factor in the Action. Total time reduction is determined by the GM and capped at 90% (executing the Action takes no less than 1/10th the normal time).

  • The time reduction on non-Movement Actions applies only to the parts of actions when your personal speed is a factor,: pouring water or smoking a steak are not affected, but constructing a shelter or picking a lock would be. The GM will determine how much the total time is reduced based on how relevant personal speed is to the task.
  • 250 feet/Round is approximately 55 mph.

Created and held by Iktan.
Obsidian colored disk. 2 inch radius 1/3 of an inch thick.

A denizen of xibalba gifts the souls of those who died or where buried near by an obsidian body on earth. This body is to be used to protect a target and take out their anger out on the attacker. Despite the bodies not being flesh they bleed possibly making the dead relive their last moments one earth causing them to scream in pain. As old habits die had specially after serving Chamiabac and Chamiaholom.

Spend an Action or Reaction. Select a Animate target within 20 feet. Roll Charisma + Influence at Difficulty 6.

If you succeed, you create a barrier around your target, which absorbs the next Outcome + 2 Damage. Any Damage absorbed by the barrier is reflected back to the attacker, up to a maximum of the Barrier Strength Parameter’s bonus. Their Armor applies in full. The Damage reduction from the barrier is applied before Armor. This Artifact may only have 1 active barrier at a time.

You must maintain Concentration while using this Effect. The barrier will fall if you are interrupted, or if it absorbs the full amount of Damage. When a barrier falls, you cannot use this Effect again for a minimum of 2 Rounds.

This Gift's Cost is capped at 2 and cannot be increased further.

  • If you use this Effect as a Reaction to dodge, you still need to make a roll to dodge. The Effect will occur regardless of the Outcome of this roll, but if you fail you will be hit by the relevant attack prior to the Effect occurring.
  • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.
  • Your target must be within line of sight, or within range of another sense if more fitting for the Gift's flavor.

For a minute you speak with a flouting light trying to convince them to heal. If is convinced the spirit lands on the injured healing them with the sound of a jaguar in the background.

Expend a point of Battery and spend 1 minute. Choose a specific Injury on yourself that has not yet been treated with this Effect and roll Charisma + Occult at Difficulty 6.

If you succeed, the Injury is reduced in Severity by your Outcome. If you reduce its Severity to 0, the Injury is fully healed. Otherwise, it is partially healed and will heal the rest of the way at its natural rate.

This counts as a successful Makeshift Stabilization if the Injury was not already Stabilized; any Battle Scars caused by the Injury will remain.

  • Unstabilized wounds do not degenerate during treatment.

The S.W Merch backpack

Created and held by Simon Wesker.
A very life-like backpack with little LED eyes and a Tamagatchi strapped onto one of the straps. When compressed, it looks like a small leather pouch with a tiny led screen that emotes sometimes

The bag feels like just a draped cloth on the user's back, regardless of how full they stuff it. When small, it is just a wriggly little Tamagotchi looking thing.

This Artifact can be used as a container. It is roughly the same size as a Laptop bag and just as difficult to conceal.

Your Laptop bag holds 5 times what it normally could. Objects stored inside are weightless.

Living things can be stored in your Laptop bag. They will have access to anything else inside but cannot break free.

If your Laptop bag is destroyed, things inside may get out, and it will cease to function until it is repaired.

When scanned or investigated without opening, the contents of your container appear normal and unremarkable.

If anyone other than you opens the container, it appears empty. Others can still destroy it to get at the contents.

This item is a living thing. When targeted, it counts as a Living Creature in addition to its other target types. If destroyed or abandoned for more than two days, it dies and becomes unusable.

  • There is no cost to use your container.

The Skeleton Key
