Will of the departed The green, vital, energy of one person is ripped from one into the other, a terrifying appearance for an ability with mostly benevolent uses.

3
The power to transfer Injuries, Mind, and Source between targets.
Used by Gideon Lockhart, Created by leonvanderblight.
(When activating this Effect, it is obvious you are interacting with the target. You must actively and obviously be using Focus: Orb of soul shards. Collected from patients as they die to provide fodder for the dead souls that facilitate this ability..)

Using the soul shards of people who have died, he uses the energy that once tethered them to the world to draw energy out of the target and into him. Using the orb of soul shards he can feed the souls to ensure that they do not drink too deeply from their target and thus that the target is not too traumatized. Though it can be used without it, he does not yet have the mastery to do so.

Exert your Mind and spend an Action to activate. Select a Sapient target within arm's reach. You must actively and obviously use Focus: Orb of soul shards. Collected from patients as they die to provide fodder for the dead souls that facilitate this ability. to activate this Effect. If the target does not consent to the transfer, you must roll Intelligence + Occult at Difficulty 6 to use the effect on them. They can resist by rolling either Body or Mind at Difficulty 6, depending on what you are attempting to transfer to them.

You may choose a single instance of one of the following to transfer from your target to yourself, or from yourself to them:

  • A single Injury and any Battle Scars it caused
Both yourself and the target can take no other Actions until the transfer is complete, or it will fail. Cannot be used again on the same target for the next day.

Community Targeted Gifts

Take a Severity-1 Injury and spend an hour to activate. Select a non-Alien Device within arm's reach. This Effect cannot be used unless Luci must be in complete darkness and must be completely alone.. You must actively and obviously use Multi-Tool/Swiss Army Knife to activate this Effect. Can be used on Armor.

For the next three months, your target receives 3 extra dice to all actions taken with its intended use. If it is a piece of Armor, it instead receives half that amount as bonus armor rating, rounded up , and any armor penalty it causes is reduced by 1.

Upgraded items have half their normal weight, for the purposes of encumbrance.

After you finish activating this Effect, you cannot move quicker than a walk (max 15 feet per Round) for one minute and suffer a -1 dice penalty for an hour.

You may only use this Effect once per day.

  • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.

Exert your Mind and spend a minute to activate. Select a target Object within arm's reach. You cannot investigate the same target more than once per hour. At the end of your investigation, roll Perception + Investigation at Difficulty 6.

You learn a single specific piece of information, chosen from the following list, about your target:

  • Determine if this Object is Alien in origin or whether it has any Alien energy or outside influences.
  • You learn the object's intended function and how to use it for its intended purpose, though not necessarily the ability to do so.
The quality and specificity of information gained depends on your Outcome.

Exert your Mind and spend an Action to activate. The area within 20 feet of you immediately and obviously becomes imminently dangerous. Anyone in the area has 1 Round to attempt to escape. During the next Round, on your Initiative, roll Intellect + Technology at Difficulty 6.

If the Outcome is positive, your blast hits everything within 20 feet of you with Damage equal to your Outcome + 2. Armor is fully effective against this damage. If you botched the activation roll, you will also take full damage from the blast, otherwise it will not hurt you.

Anyone hit by the blast may roll Body at Difficulty 7 as a Free Action, and reduce their Damage taken by the Outcome.

  • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.

Exert your Mind and spend an Action to activate. Select a target within arm's reach. You must actively and obviously use A musical instrument to activate this Effect. Make a Trauma roll when you activate this Effect. Choose an illusion to generate, which can be no larger than an SUV.

The chosen illusion is generated at your target, and it will remain in place for the next minute or you choose to end it. It can be perceived by people through all of their senses. The illusion cannot be used as an attack. You may create a replica of a specific being or Object, though it is still limited by what you do or do not know about the subject.

Anyone who struggles against the illusion or who would be damaged by the illusion realizes it is an illusion, and the entire effect will be ended for all targets.

The illusion will remain fixed to its initial target, and can only change locations if the initial target is mobile in some way. It may have moving parts and engage in simple, predetermined movements but cannot perform anything complex or interactive unless you maintain Concentration and “puppeteer” it.

You may use Traumatize as though you were standing within your illusion. Doing so dispels the Illusion. Anyone who has already seen through the illusion is unaffected by any Powers channeled through it.

  • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.

Exert your Mind to activate. Select a Living target within arm's reach. This Effect cannot be used unless the target is myself. Over the course of one day, your patient must communicate with you and reveal at least one of their Traumas to you, including the details of those Traumas and the circumstances of how they were acquired. After the full treatment time has elapsed, roll Charisma + Technology at Difficulty 6.

If your treatment is successful, you may remove one of the patient's revealed Traumas without incurring any Experience cost.

  • The treatment time may be broken up into multiple sessions if necessary.
  • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.

Stock Targeted Gifts

Exert your Mind and spend an Action or Reaction to activate. Select a Animate target within 20 feet. This Effect cannot be used unless the target is a living human. Roll a single d10, Difficulty 4. If you fail or botch, the Effect fails and you cannot activate it again for an hour. Roll Charisma + Occult at Difficulty 6.

If you succeed, you create a Barrier around your target, which absorbs the next Outcome Damage. The Damage reduction from the Barrier is applied before Armor, and is treated like Armor by any effects such as Armor Penetration. You may only have 1 active barrier at a time.

You must maintain Concentration while using this Effect. The Barrier will fall if you are interrupted, or if it absorbs the full amount of damage. When a Barrier falls, you cannot use this Effect again for a minimum of 2 Rounds.

This Effect is not obvious, and the only sign you are using an Effect is you whispering a prayer under your breath. If someone suspects that an Effect was used, they must roll Perception + Alertness, Difficulty 8 to pick up on your Tell.

  • If you use this Effect as a Reaction to dodge, you still need to make a roll to dodge. The Effect will occur regardless of the Outcome of this roll, but if you fail you will be hit by the relevant attack prior to the Effect occurring.
  • If this Effect fails due to the Unreliable check, you must still pay any associated activation costs.
  • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.

Exert your Mind and spend an Action to activate. You must actively and obviously use your instrument to activate this Effect. The area within 20 feet of you immediately and obviously becomes imminently dangerous. Roll Charisma + Performance at Difficulty 6. Targets inside the radius may attempt an appropriate Reaction at GM’s discretion. Finding a physical barrier to use as cover will cut total damage taken in half (applies after Reaction roll but before Armor).

If the Outcome is positive, your blast hits everything within 20 feet of you with Damage equal to your Outcome + 2. Armor is fully effective against this damage. If you botched the activation roll, you will also take full damage from the blast, otherwise it will not hurt you.

You may only use this Effect once per day.

  • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.

Exert your Mind to activate. Select a Sapient target at any range. Activation requires possession of the target's fresh tracks, which is used up during the process. At the end of your investigation, roll Perception + Survival at Difficulty 6.

You learn all the following information about your target:

  • You may follow the target's trail, no matter where or how they have traveled, so long as the trail is less than a day old.

The quality and specificity of information gained depends on your Outcome.

Any information you gather is revealed by illuminating the trail in a glowing light and made publicly available.

  • Tracker You are not made instantly aware of where they have been in the past 24 hours; you must follow their trail. You may "happen upon" any trail they have made in the past 24 hours.
  • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.

Exert your Mind and spend an Action to activate. Select a non-Sapient, Animate target within 20 feet. This Effect cannot be used unless the target is undead.

For the next day, you may issue specific commands to your target which they will be compelled to follow.

Your commands must be relatively simple and within the target’s intellectual grasp. You cannot make them obviously endanger themselves or violate their instinct for self-preservation. The effects of the command will fade after a day has passed.

  • Your commands must be directly communicated to your target in some way, though this does not require a shared language.
  • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.

Take a Severity-1 Injury and spend an Action to activate. Select a Dead target within arm's reach with at least half its skeletal structure remaining. Make a Trauma roll when you activate this Effect.

Your target rises as an Animate being. The raised creature is totally mindless, with no memory of its past life or hint of its old personality. They can communicate as they would have been able to in life. They will follow any command you speak.

The creature lasts for the next day or until it dies again. It is revived at full health. Any Injuries it had in life are not accounted for when determining its penalties or progression towards re-death, though they may affect its ability to perform certain actions at GM's discretion.

Raised creatures have their Abilities set to the same that they were in life. Their Charisma and Intellect are set to 1, but their Dexterity, Brawn and Perception are the same as they had in life. A raised creature cannot use any Effects.

  • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.
