Surrounding light seems to dim and lines appear over the target(based on success with a base of 3) before they fade, the enemy can try to defend or dodge. After they fade, the lines appear as slashes from Bu Fang knife appears on the skin/outer layer of the target.
If possible, roll dex+knives instead of melee
Exert your Mind and spend an Action to activate. Select a target within 45 feet. You must actively and obviously use Knife to activate this Effect. Roll Dexterity + Melee Difficulty 6. The target may contest by rolling to Dodge or Defend as a Reaction, Difficulty 6.
If the contested Outcome is positive, the target takes that much damage plus 3. Armor is reduced to 1/2, rounded down against this damage.
The target suffers a -3 dice penalty for the next hour or until the Injury is healed. This dice penalty does not stack multiple times on the same target.
If the target takes damage from this Effect, they will receive at least a Minor Battle Scar regardless of the Severity of their Injury. The specifics of the scar are up to GM's discretion.

In an almost comical fashion, when the user is in a combat interaction with a larger individual, it is as if the user can always find a convenient way to circumvent the attack in an entertaining fashion, whether that be sliding through their opponents legs to avoid a charge or briskly dodging a fencing sword by assuming awkward positions, they can always find a way.
