When Liam approaches a corpse dead less than an hour, the eye of the Witness shimmers, & the spirit will rise if it has a Last Wish. Ghosts are bound to the Witness, & always must return to it. Most of the time the Ghosts are not visible, though when the wielder attempts to command them they are seen.
This Effect activates whenever the Ghost has a Last Wish. It does not require an Action or Exertion. Select a Dead target within arm's reach that has died within the last hour.
Your target rises as an Animate being which is ghostlike and incorporeal, unable to physically interact with the real world, though they may pass through walls and make noise. They remember their past life and retain their same personality. They can communicate as they would have been able to in life. They may roll Mind, Difficulty 8, to resist any commands you give them.
The creature lasts until it strays at least 80 feet from the chosen place, person, or item. until it dies again. It is revived at full health. Any Injuries it had in life are not accounted for when determining its penalties or progression towards re-death, though they may affect its ability to perform certain actions at GM's discretion.
Raised creatures have their Abilities set to the same that they were in life. Their Attributes are all the same as they were in life. Raised creatures have access to any Effects they had in life.
Anyone who touches this Artifact will notice it warping their mind and may drop it. If they choose to hold or use it, they immediately receive the following Trauma: Last Wish: If a ghost or dying person makes a request of you, you must roll Self-Control to not fulfill it. If they lose possession of this Artifact, the Trauma heals over the course of the next day.
Emily smiles softly, chatting with her target, and lets out a long breath. In seconds, her partner starts to feel the effects...
Exert your Mind (unless your target is a member of the opposite sex) and spend an Action. Select a number of Living or Animate targets equal to your Charisma within 45 feet as well as a specific emotion. Roll Charisma + Influence at Difficulty 6. Affected targets can resist by rolling Mind at Difficulty 6 -3 dice.
If you succeed, for the next minute, affected targets will do things they otherwise wouldn’t have done, inspired by the chosen emotion. They will outwardly display their emotions in an obvious and visible way.
Actions they take may be extreme and out of character for them. They will be unlikely to change their mind about any actions taken or decisions made until after the Effect ends.
If you choose to use Chain of Screaming, your target interacts with any valid target, they must roll Self-Control or be swept up in the same emotion. New targets pass it on as well, and so on, with the remaining duration decreasing by half until the chain stops.
This Effect is not obvious, and the only sign you are using an Effect is starting to pant softly. If someone suspects that an Effect was used, they must roll Perception + Alertness, Difficulty 8 to pick up on your Tell.
You may end this Effect prematurely as a Free Action.
This ward is a plain King of Clubs, its made of paper and can be destroyed and rendered useless by simply ripping it apart. While this card is placed somewhere the user can see and hear as if they were the king depicted on the card. Those who can see through stealthy will notice the king depicted on the card actively looks around with suspicion at what's within his line of sight.
The King of Clubs is a paranoid sort, his rule under a constant threat of being overthrown by his younger brother, the King of Spades, and his vast army of spearmen. He's always observing quietly from the sidelines, to him anyone could be a threat to his rule, even those of his own court.
Spend an Action and use up this King of Clubs (unless you succeed on 1d10, Difficulty 7). Select a target within 10 feet.
You place a ward, which is fixed to a target Object that can be moved and repositioned. You can hear and see through the ward as though you were standing at its location. You may have at most 1 wards running at once.
The ward requires Concentration to monitor, though it will remain active until you deactivate it. The ward can be discovered if someone knows what they are looking for, but is otherwise inconspicuous and cannot be identified as a ward.
Frank reaches into his coat, pulling out a plethora of monochrome hand & legcuffs. Within an instant, they're firing out at nearby folks, attempting to apprehend any potential criminals. An easy way out is just breaking them off... at the cost of your wrists & ankles.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select a Location within 300 feet. Roll Perception + Investigation at Difficulty 6. All targets within 20 feet of the chosen Location may contest by Defending or Dodging.
If you succeed, all affected targets will be restricted at their location by a physical, tangible binding. They can still move their arms and use Effects, but cannot move to a new location.
Restricted targets may escape their binding by spending an Action and taking a Severity-1 Injury. Their movement is reduced by 10 feet until the Injury heals.
If the Contested Outcome of your activation roll is 4 or higher, the activation cost of this Effect is refunded.
Through the reflective surface, Nathan invites a specific damned spirit, commonly with an offerring of some sort, bearing the appalling appearance of their particular death, squirming into his body, gifting his reflection a misshapen conjoined ghost which lends its capabilities.
The possessor of the spirit can always see their disturbing form reflected.
Spirit possession is practiced by spirit mediums, which has a deity who is invited to take over the their body, granting noticeable alterations to the practitioner. This capability stems from the nature of the mediums, who if compared to vessels are unfilled unlike most adults. This grants them space that deities can occupy.
Nathan cannot do that, he does not have the reach to even commune with a deity, let alone invite their presence but with part of his hun as a reflection, he can replicate some aspects of this effect, calling upon the dead, or even only parts of them. After the occupation is complete, then the real work can be done, transference.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. You may only target yourself. The target can easily Resist.
You may add one augmentation to your target. Each augmentation counts as a Trauma and can have exactly one of the following Effects:
By transplanting a body part from an Alien being, you can grant an intrinsic Effect from that part to the subject. Its power level should be limited to one Gift Point or less.
The augmentations you provide are not outwardly visible nor obvious.
Anyone who witnesses you during this Effect's activation will almost certainly be disturbed to see the forming of the terrible lingering spirit.
The doctor rubs at something behind one of his ears.
A pressure point? A nerve cluster? Perhaps he has a headache?
The very observant will notice his finger always lands on a brown discoloration where his head and neck meet, and always when looking at someone who knows something he doesn't. Those with microscopic vision might even see some of his nanites enter the target's head.
A small number of nanites enter a target and replicate in their brain, mapping the neurons used for memory storage and transmitting information to a pressure-activated receiver that has been subcutaneously constructed behind his ear. Its neural connection runs through the cochlear nerve and always causes an irritating feedback, and while memories are transferred and processed quickly, this risks unfiltered exposure to traumatic stimuli.
The brain replication does provoke a hostile immune response, and the feedback on their destruction may alert the target's conscious mind in an unmistakably alien way
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select a Living, Animate target within 25 feet. You must make a Trauma roll when you use this Effect. Its Difficulty cannot be reduced by any means. If you fail or Botch, you receive one Mind Damage and a new Trauma. You must maintain Concentration while the effect is active. Roll Intellect + Medicine at Difficulty 6. The target may resist by rolling Body at Difficulty 6.
If you succeed, you are able to view your target's memories. If you fail, the target knows you're attempting to read their memories.
You may ask a number of specific questions about their memory equal to your Contested Outcome. For example, “what is their computer password,” “What were they doing at 4:00PM yesterday,” etc. You cannot get answers to broad, analytical questions like “are they a good person?” or “what are their plans for the future?”
Each question you ask and memory you replay takes a single Round to read.
This Effect is not obvious, and the only sign you are using an Effect is Laz pressing on a mole behind his ear.. If someone suspects that an Effect was used, they must roll Perception + Alertness, Difficulty 8 to pick up on your Tell.
Possession of this Power grants the following Battle Scar: Tinnitus.
The doctor heals severe injuries in minutes using only standard medical supplies. Lacerations seal under the needle and thread, and reset bones can be used shortly after.
However, for the treatment to last, the patient must adhere to any aftercare regimen the doctor requires. Those who violate the doctor's orders suffer their injuries anew.
Exert your Mind and spend 15 minutes. Select a Living target within arm's reach. You must actively and obviously use basic medical supplies to activate this Effect. Choose a specific Injury on your target that has not yet been treated with this Effect and roll Intellect + Medicine at Difficulty 8.
If you succeed, the Injury is reduced in Severity by your Outcome. If you reduce its Severity to 0, the Injury is fully healed. Otherwise, it is partially healed and will heal the rest of the way at its natural rate.
This counts as a successful Makeshift Stabilization if the Injury was not already Stabilized; any Battle Scars caused by the Injury will remain. You may specify a specific condition that the patient must adhere to. If they break this condition, the treatment is immediately reversed. Record this regimen as a Condition. Lasts until the end of their next Contract or 1 month for non-Contractors.
The De-Neuralizer is a small silver device that can emanate a bright flash of light. Any being that looks into it with uncovered eyes has their most recent period of the their memory set into a highly over-writable state for a moment. While in this state, their memories may be overwritten at will.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select a Location within within arm's reach. All Sapient targets within 20 feet are affected. This Effect cannot be used unless the target is looking directly into the device with uncovered eyes. Roll Charisma + Influence at Difficulty 6. The target may resist by rolling Mind at Difficulty 7.
If the contested Outcome is positive, the most recent 1 hour from your target’s memory is either replaced with new memories or forgotten entirely. This is recorded as a Condition. The level of detail and completeness of the alteration depends on your Outcome. If you fail, the target realizes that you are attempting to alter their memories.
The period is chosen either by time (i.e. “last Friday night”) or by reference to a specific event (i.e. “when the murder occurred”).
The Doctor examines their patient and gives a standard medical checkup, asking them questions, nodding to themselves, and muttering arcane medical jargon. The examination reveals an extraordinary amount of detail about any medical issues suffered by the patient.
Spend one minute. Select a Sapient target or a Creature within arm's reach. You must actively converse with the individual in question for one minute in order to gather any information. At the end of your investigation, roll Perception + Medicine at Difficulty 6. The target may Resist.
You learn all the following information about your target:
The quality and specificity of information gained depends on your Outcome.
This Gift cannot have more than 3 Drawbacks, and its Gift Cost is capped at 2.
You cannot investigate the same target more than once per day.
The beastmaster puts their nose to the ground and sniffs about the area. Their feral nostrils tell them what sorts of creatures live in the area, and who lays claim to each region.
Exert your Mind and spend a minute. Investigate an area with a radius of up to 100 feet Can only be activated while you are in the wilderness. At the end of your investigation, roll Perception + Survival at Difficulty 6.

Through the use of clever rhetoric, the spy is able to inspire a surge of emotion in a target with whom they are speaking.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select a Living target within 45 feet as well as a specific emotion. This Effect cannot be used unless you are engaged in conversation with the target. Roll Charisma + Influence at Difficulty 6. Affected targets can resist by rolling Mind at Difficulty 6 -3 dice.
If you succeed, for the next minute, your target will do things they otherwise wouldn’t have done, inspired by the chosen emotion. They will not necessarily display their emotions in an obvious way.
Actions they take will be in keeping with their character and the way they tend to deal with strong emotions. They will be unlikely to change their mind about any actions taken or decisions made until after the Effect ends.
