Spectral Lantern
The artifact contains an ethereal flame, which lies dormant until activated. Once activated the user can see their surroundings illuminated by a faith ethereal light that pierces obstacles. Others see the dormant gray flame awaken and flicker in its housing. (The flame longs to be real, encouraging the user to start more fires.)
Exert your Mind and spend an Action.
You may perceive things within 15 feet of you with perfect clarity as though there were no walls or obstacles blocking your view for the next 30 minutes. You must maintain Concentration to keep up the effect.
You may perceive through up to 15 feet of material. The Difficulty of all Perception rolls made through a wall are increased by 1 per wall.
Anyone who touches this Artifact will notice it warping their mind and may drop it. If they choose to hold or use it, they immediately receive the following Trauma: pyromania, any time you encounter a new flammable object, you must succeed a Self-Control roll to avoid attempting to set it on fire. If they lose possession of this Artifact, the Trauma heals over the course of the next day.
- You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.
- Your target must be within line of sight, or within range of another sense if more fitting for the Gift's flavor.

Charlatans

Nowadays you can't go a day without some phony prophet trying to peddle their wares to you.
Driven by the increased interest in the supernatural, charlatans from palm readers to televangelists are everywhere. And while the vast majority of witches, psychics, magicians, hypnotists, cures, potions, faith healers, and clairvoyants are complete fakes, they do make a living.
As the saying goes, "it's easier for an actor to make it in alternative medicine than Hollywood."
Most people scoff at these clearly-phony supernatural services, yet those same people often buy into at least one scam.
The most dangerous charlatans are the self-styled monster hunters who carry a mall-ninja arsenal and guns with silver bullets. Most have never encountered anything supernatural and do absolutely nothing besides burn some sage and patrol the area for a night or two. Even so, those who are superstitious, fearful, or desperate enough will hire them to solve the problems they simply don't understand. In some cases with disastrous results.
For Contractors, charlatans are red herrings and obstacles. Clumsy fakes that conjure a smokescreen of misinformation and escalate the situations they're in.

"It's pretty easy to visualize what's on the other side of the wall if you just take a moment to think about it."
Tam lets out a breath, and closes her eyes for a moment. When she opens them, her fingers are twitching, making small motions in the air as if she's writing. As she finishes, she's formed, in her mind, a mental map of the surrounding area, and she can visualize what's in it.
Exert your Mind (unless no other person is within 100 feet of you) and spend one minute.
You may perceive things through sight within 1 mile of you with perfect clarity as though there were no walls or obstacles blocking your view for the next 30 minutes.
This Effect is not obvious, and the only sign you are using an Effect is twitching fingers. If someone suspects that an Effect was used, they must roll Perception + Alertness, Difficulty 8 to pick up on your Tell.
You may perceive through up to 15 feet of material. The Difficulty of all Perception rolls made through a wall are increased by 1 per wall.

Gossip Gets Around
Margaret knows when youβre talking about her and what you've said. Pesky, gossips find her shadow looming over them.
This Effect activates whenever someone talks about Margaret. It does not require an Action or Exertion. Select a target Location within 75 feet. Your target should be intuitively based on the triggering event.
You may perceive things through hearing as if you were standing at that Location for the next 30 minutes. You may move your senses back and forth between your projected location and your real location without prematurely ending the effect. You may only have one projected location active at a time.
You create a visible manifestation at the Location where your senses are projected which looks like A woman's shadow looming behind.
- When triggered, the Effect activation resolves immediately after the triggering Action. It is not Reaction speed.
- This does not satisfy the Line of Sight requirement for targeted Effects.
Social Awareness
Can't sneak up on me now!
Activated intentionally via concentrating on the users surroundings as a whole, any living targets within the range are highlighted and brought to Ains' attention, but otherwise this power operates as normal, allowing Ains to percieve sight an upwards of 75 ft away.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. You must make a Trauma roll when you use this Effect. Its Difficulty cannot be reduced by any means.
You may perceive things through sight within 75 feet of you with perfect clarity as though there were no walls or obstacles blocking your view for the next 30 minutes.

Spirit Spying
"πΏπππΉ ππ ππππ ππΎππΎππ..."
Mrs. Ross lifts her talisman up for her face, tongue and eyes beginning to spark as she calls forth a wandering spirit in the area. After making connection, the spirit will manifest in front of her briefly, awaiting her request. After a silent command, the shade will disappear to a location of Mrs. Ross's choosing.
By focusing on the connection made with the obedient ghost, Ripley is able to view distant locations as if she herself were standing there... giving her the opportunity to Appease the Dead with even more flexibility.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select a target Location within 75 feet. You must actively and obviously use Spirit Talisman to activate this Effect.
You may perceive things as if you were standing at that Location for the next 30 minutes. You may move your senses back and forth between your projected location and your real location without prematurely ending the effect. You may only have one projected location active at a time.

Scrying Mirror

Looking through a mirrored surface, the reflection shimmers and changes, showing Barry another place, from a perspective very similar to his own.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select a target Location within 75 feet. You must actively and obviously use A Mirrored Surface to activate this Effect.
You may perceive things as if you were standing at that Location for the next 30 minutes. You may move your senses back and forth between your projected location and your real location without prematurely ending the effect. You may only have one projected location active at a time.
- You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.
- Your target must be within line of sight, or within range of another sense if more fitting for the Gift's flavor.

Ear for Gossip
"Did you hear what she said about me?"
The influencer is 100% tuned-in to any sort of chatter about themselves. Any time someone nearby so much as whispers about them, they know who they were and what they said.
This Effect activates whenever someone talks about you. It does not require an Action or Exertion. Select a target Location within 75 feet. Your target should be intuitively based on the triggering event.
You may perceive things through hearing as if you were standing at that Location for the next 30 minutes. You must maintain Concentration to keep up the effect. You cannot perceive anything at your physical location while the effect is active.

Astral Glance
To see beyond, you must open your third eye.
The mystic enters a meditation while focusing on a remote location. A glowing sigil of an eye appears on their forehead, and a ghostly image of themselves meditating appears at the location they are envisioning. For a brief period, they may see the area they are projecting to as though they were standing there.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Select a target Location within 75 feet.
You may perceive things as if you were standing at that Location. The effect lasts indefinitely but you must maintain Concentration to keep it up. You cannot perceive anything at your physical location while the effect is active.
You create a visible manifestation at the Location where your senses are projected which looks like a ghostly image of yourself meditating.
