Crafted Artifact

Modular Feathers

Created by Bryan Bosch, given to Polamedes.
A set of artistic origami wings that can grant the user flight. When deactivated, the wings take the form of a compressed stack of paper sheets with intricate origami feathers sticking out from the center. During the activation sequence, the paper automatically unfolds and extends to take the shape of a majestic, marvelous pair of wings. The inner parts of the wings are composed from a series of uniform, rectangular paper sheets, while the edges are lined by the origami feathers. On the surface of the paper stack and center of the wings is a signature written in cursive gold, reading "bb."

As the activation ritual is performed, the origami wings unfold from the user's back and extend ten feet on all sides. Due to their modular structure-- being composed of countless amounts of paper sheets and feathers-- the wings are effectively immune to damage, as they repair themselves with replacement feathers the moment they are destroyed.
The calibration sequence to connect the wings to the user requires them to extend their arms to the side (reaching their wingspan) and read aloud a pangram (ex: "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog").

The wings connect themselves to the user's inner Source or Mind to power their movements through the calibration sequence. Basically just imagine the wings the paper girl from Naruto uses (Konan).

Exert your Mind and spend two Actions performing the following ritual: activating and calibrating the wings with the user. You must maintain Concentration while activating this Effect, and it fails if you are interrupted. This Effect remains active for two hours.

As long as you are conscious, you are immune to falling Damage. Additionally, you may glide as you fall, traveling 35 feet horizontally for every 10 feet you fall. While gliding, you fall at a minimum speed of 10 feet per Round.

You may ascend into the air and fly using your origami wings. You require 10 feet of clear space on all sides to fly. You may add 50 feet to Movement you take while flying. If you take more than a Severity 4 Injury to your origami wings via a called shot or Battle Scar, you can only glide until they are healed.

You are subject to the following effects while gliding or flying:

  • Ethereal Wings: Your origami wings can no longer be damaged, destroyed, or receive Battle Scars.
  • Earthbound: You cannot fly or glide in an atmosphere thin enough to be unbreathable.
  • Weight-Limited: This Effect is suppressed any time you are over-encumbered.

  • Any penalties to dice or movement, including from Encumbrance, are applied as normal. If your movement is reduced to 0 due to encumbrance, you will begin to sink down to the ground.
  • You may activate this Effect while in midair, allowing you to slow and survive any free fall.

Christine

Created and held by Sasaki "Izzy" Izumi.

It is a sleek black muscle car with silver accents and hood ornament, as well as bullet proof exterior and windows. The underside has bloody runes scrawled and smudged. It likes to have blood mixed with its fuel.

This Artifact can be used as a muscle car. It is roughly the same size as a muscle car and just as difficult to conceal.

This muscle car has a silver hood ornament and bullet proof exterior. Any roll to pilot this vehicle receives +2 dice.

You also gain the following effects:

  • Afterburner: Your vehicle has a 25% faster top speed and you may Exert your Mind to accelerate to its top speed in a single Round.
  • Daredevil: Damage you and your passengers take from vehicle collisions is reduced by 2, and any Injuries suffered are limited to a maximum of Severity 4.
  • Mind of its Own: This vehicle can move and take Actions without you driving it. It has seven dice for all Drive rolls.

This item is a living thing. When targeted, it counts as a Living Creature in addition to its other target types. If destroyed or abandoned for more than two days, it dies and becomes unusable.

Dominic's Booster Boots

Created by Jason Valent, given to Dominic West.
Placeholder

The booster boots are able to create thrust for a limited amount of time. They are Rocket Boots, so generate exhaust & noise, though expert craftsmanship reduces the sound to manageable levels (about the same as a vacuum)

Exert your Mind and spend an Action. This Effect remains active for two hours.

As long as you are conscious, you are immune to falling Damage. Additionally, you may glide as you fall, traveling 35 feet horizontally for every 10 feet you fall. While gliding, you fall at a minimum speed of 10 feet per Round.

You may ascend into the air and fly using your mind. Your Free Movement is Mind x5 feet/Round, including vertically. You cannot Dash. When sprinting, roll Mind and add your rating in Mind plus 1 to the outcome, multiply by 5 to find your sprint speed. Your encumbrance limit is 10 lbs per point of Mind.

You are subject to the following effects while gliding or flying:

  • Icarus: If you fly higher than 50 feet in the air, you must roll 1 die, Difficulty 6. If you fail, this Effect ends early and cannot be reactivated for an hour. Make this roll again at every interval of 50 feet off the ground (100 feet, 150 feet, etc).
  • Earthbound: You cannot fly or glide in an atmosphere thin enough to be unbreathable.
  • Commercial Flight: This Effect is suppressed any time you are over-encumbered. However, you may carry up to 1 passengers without increasing your Encumbrance. Any passengers must maintain physical contact with you or another passenger, or they will fall.

  • Any penalties to dice or movement, including from Encumbrance, are applied as normal. If your movement is reduced to 0 due to encumbrance, you will begin to sink down to the ground.
  • You may activate this Effect while in midair, allowing you to slow and survive any free fall.

Furacão de Runnan

Created and held by Aurora.
Um arco que permite ao portador troca de lugar com o seu projetil.

Crossbow vermelho e compacto, com aspecto de magico

This Artifact can be used as a bow. It is roughly the same size as a bow and just as difficult to conceal.

Attack by rolling Dexterity + Athletics, Difficulty 6. Successful attacks deal Contested Outcome +4 Weapon Damage. The target's Armor is fully effective against this damage. Attacks do not require a successful called shot to do damage.

You also gain the following effects:

  • Not Quite Flying: You may Exert your Mind and use up your Movement to “follow” any attack using this weapon, traveling right next to its point of impact.

  • The attack must be the primary form of attack for this weapon.
  • Reminder: additional Weapon Damage granted by this Effect does not stack with any other bonus to Weapon Damage. Instead the largest bonus is used.

Sprinter’s Edge

Created and held by Kazuya Saito.
The Sprinter’s Edge is a breathtaking piece of metal. The blade is honed to a razors edge with a subtle iridescence shining against the black metal of the blade. There are etchings on the blade in a different language, almost runic that briefly describes how using this special blade will make the user feel more vital and faster. With each step you take with this knife in hand you feel as if you took 3 steps instead of one and suddenly you’ve moved from one spot to the other. The hilt of the knife has 3 rubies embedded into the hand guard. The rubies are embedded so deep it doesn’t feel uncomfortable to wield this knife.

When the user is holding the knife, he looks like he is just standing still for a second, then suddenly, he disappears and is inches from your throat. Not wanting to be left behind he quickly and quietly slashes the opponents throat and moves onto the next.

Exert your Mind and spend an Action. Make a Trauma roll when you activate this Effect.

You phase out of reality for up to 4 Rounds. During this time, you cannot affect the outside world (other than non-combat Actions using your hands, at +2 Difficulty) or take any Actions. You may move as normal while phased out. You may pass through walls and "climb" up and down through solid material at normal climbing speeds. Nothing can interact with you in any way.

When you activate this Effect, you may limit its duration to a period of your choosing. If you are able, you may also end it as a Free Action on your initiative.

You leave A mirage of his body just standing there where he phased out at your location.

  • If you phase in while intersecting with solid material, you take a severe, potentially-lethal Injury.
  • Any items and equipment on your person become intangible along with you. You cannot interact with them, as they are intangible.
  • Effects that do not require a physical target may still affect you.
  • You may use your Free Movement on the Round you phase back in, but you cannot take an Action.

This knife is disguised as a track and field baton by the naked eye, but in reality it transforms into a beautiful knife. More beautiful than any knife anyone has seen.

This Artifact can be used as a knife. It is roughly the same size as a knife but can be collapsed into Baton that fits any sheath and concealed. Collapsing or expanding it costs a Quick Action.

Attack by rolling (Dexterity or Brawn) + (Melee or Brawl), Difficulty 6. Successful attacks deal Contested Outcome +6 Weapon Damage. The target's Armor is fully effective against this damage.

  • If there is not enough free space to expand the object, it cannot be expanded. You cannot expand this Object as an attack.
  • Reminder: additional Weapon Damage granted by this Effect does not stack with any other bonus to Weapon Damage. Instead the largest bonus is used.

Ring of Phasing

Created and held by Dr. Jenna Harkness.
This platinum ring holds a translucent opal that shimmers when the power is activated..

When Dr Jenna Harkness uses this ring her body shimmers as if light was passing over glass. She is transparent and can not interact with objects in the world.

Exert your Mind and spend an Action to activate.

You become intangible for the next 1 minute. Once you revert to your solid form, you cannot use this Power again for 1 hour.

While intangible, you take no damage from physical attacks, and many Effects will be unable to interact with you. You cannot use any of your own Gifts. You cannot touch or interact with things in the physical world.

You may “drop” any intangible items which are on your person. They become tangible again once you have let them go.

You may end this effect prematurely as a Free Action.

  • Effects that do not require a physical target may still affect you. It is ultimately at GMs discretion whether a given mystical or supernatural thing in a Scenario will impact intangible targets, but generally things with physical components will fail to work properly on you when you are in this state.
  • Any items and equipment on your person become intangible along with you. You can hold them and move them around, but they are intangible and thus will not work for their intended purposes.
