The Illumination House Rules

The purpose of this Playgroup is to introduce new Players to The Contract and to provide a "proving ground" that Regional Playgroups can draw from. 

• This Playgroup is the parent Playgroup of several Illuminated Regions.
  • Illuminated San Francisco
  • Illuminated New York
• Canonical World Events
  • The World Events posted in this Playgroup are Regional events that have advanced to the global scale. They are considered canonical for all Regions. 
  • No World Events based on the events of Contracts that occur in this Playgroup or Downtimes for Contractors that are homed in this Playgroup will be posted here.
• Contractor Creation Rules
  • Contractors may take no more than 7 points of Liabilities
  • Contractors cannot be a direct ripoff of a pop-culture character to the point that NPCs in-game would notice the similarity
  • Contractors may not use a concept that is extremely likely to disrupt games (e.g. being a walking, talking fox, being as notorious as Osama bin Laden, having a bomb in their chest that detonates when they die, etc). 
• Citizenship: Active Players are expected to GM Contracts from time to time. If you have played as a Contractor in your most recent six Illumination Contracts, you are barred from playing in The Illumination again until you GM a contract in The Illumination. (In other words the first six Contracts are free, but after that you must GM). 
• GMing: All members of The Illumination are encouraged to GM, and no approval is required. Custom Scenarios likewise do not require pre-approval.
  • Contracts run in this Playgroup are rarely 'canon'. Much of the time, these Contracts take place in an alternate dimension that is very much like The Illumination, and the Contractors involved only notice the differences when they return home and try to follow up on the events of the Contracts.
  • For Canonical Contracts and consistent stories, join a Region Playgroup.
