(It is clear that you are communicating with the target. You must wear or wield this Artifact plainly to receive these benefits.)

I wrote out a 900 word story about how Salvator learnt to talk and then the gift didn't save (probably because I wrote so much) and I cant be arsed doing it again. Long story short, he believes he can do anything when he's wearing his cardigan.

You gain the following benefits as long as you are wearing this Artifact.

You may understand and communicate to Creatures and humans as if you are fluent in a relevant language.

  • Communing with creatures does not grant them intellect but does allow you to converse with them.
  • The target of "human" refers to any target that speaks a human language.

Community Commune Gifts

Mel’s mind opens more the the world of the supernatural. With some focus he can call up the dead, and talk to them.

Exert your Mind and spend one minute. Select a Dead target within 50 feet. For dead targets, you must possess their True Name.

The target can communicate in your language for the next hour.

This Effect is not obvious, and the only sign you are using an Effect is Mel furrows his brow and looks at the target. If someone suspects that an Effect was used, they must roll Perception + Alertness, Difficulty 8 to pick up on your Tell.

You may only use this Effect once per target per day.

  • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.
  • Your target must be within line of sight, or within range of another sense if more fitting for the Gift's flavor.

Expend a point of Battery and spend an Action. Select a Sapient being, human, or Dead target within 50 feet. Dead targets must have died within the past week, and you must have their remains in your possession. This Effect cannot be used unless both you & the target are completely in shadow.

  • You can target yourself if you qualify as a valid target by the other requirements.
  • Your target must be within line of sight, or within range of another sense if more fitting for the Gift's flavor.

This Effect is not obvious, and the only sign you are using an Effect is Janus eyes change color from brown to blue. If someone suspects that an Effect was used, they must roll Perception + Alertness, Difficulty 8 to pick up on your Tell.

You may only use this Effect once per target per day.

While active and speaking to a single individual, you may choose to use glib tongue. When you do, anything you say to them (even gibberish) will be exactly what they want to hear. You gain no understanding of what that might be.

While this Effect is active, you are at -2 dice to all Actions and cannot Concentrate.
