A very faint, silver, ethereal halo (the jagged kind, not the circle kind) appears around Mel's head as the client begins to share. Conversely, a very visible black ethereal halo appears around the client's head. As the session progresses, the silver halo becomes increasingly visible and the black one becomes faded. The glow vanishes when the client stops sharing or Mel stops paying attention to them.
Exert your Mind to activate. Select a Living target within arm's reach. You cannot target yourself. This Effect cannot be used unless the client, of their own free will and under no magical influences, consents to the details of the Strict Regimen before receiving treatment. Over the course of one day, your patient must communicate with you and reveal at least one of their Traumas to you, including the details of those Traumas and the circumstances of how they were acquired. After the full treatment time has elapsed, roll Charisma + Influence at Difficulty 6.
Your target may Resist. If your treatment is successful, you may remove one of the patient's revealed Traumas without incurring any Experience cost.
You may specify a specific condition that the patient must adhere to. If they break this condition, the treatment is immediately reversed. Record this regimen as a Condition.
Once per day per target, you may choose to use this Effect to stabilize the Mind of a target within arm's reach. Treatment takes 30 seconds but will not remove any Traumas. If you are successful, restore 2 Mind damage.
In times where Laurence is being attacked by what he doesn't believe, Laurence's subconscious starts to attempt to defend him without clueing him in to what he is doing as not to cause strain on reality. this causes a sharp pain in Laurence's head in the moment (and then a sharper pain in the other's head if it works).

You may only use this Effect once per day.

The holographic technology of the crystalline aliens has been incorporated into the Karra Bracelet. When under a Close Protection Contract, Amarjeet is capable of creating a prismatic field of shimmering light protecting her Client.
This technology is not without it's flaws, however - the target of the shield will suffer burns matching the prismatic lotus pattern created by the field. This damage pales to that suffered by would be attackers, however - a feedback mechanism causes a backlash of energies to strike down those who would attempt to pierce the field.
Exert your Mind and spend an Action or Reaction. Select a Animate target within 20 feet. This Effect cannot be used unless the target is under a Close Protection Contract. When you Activate this Effect, roll a single d10. If the result is 5 or lower, your target receives a Minor Battle Scar. Roll Perception + Technology at Difficulty 6.
If you succeed, you create a barrier around your target, which absorbs the next Outcome + 6 Damage. Any Damage absorbed by the barrier is reflected back to the attacker, up to a maximum of the Barrier Strength Parameter’s bonus. Their Armor applies in full. The Damage reduction from the barrier is applied before Armor. This Artifact may only have 1 active barrier at a time.
You must maintain Concentration while using this Effect. The barrier will fall if you are interrupted, or if it absorbs the full amount of Damage. When a barrier falls, you cannot use this Effect again for a minimum of 2 Rounds.

Select one of the following alterations to create out of water originating at the target:
The alteration begins to form when you activate this Effect and finishes forming on your initiative in the next Round. Until it finishes forming, it is not guaranteed to function.
This alteration lasts one minute but may be prematurely destroyed or altered. Your alterations may be broken through with appropriate tools. Anyone attempting to break through must roll Brawn + a relevant Ability. A cumulative Outcome of 6 across all attempts breaks a hole large enough to move through. See the extended system text for GM guidance on various tools.

This Gift's Cost is capped at 2 and cannot be increased further.
The mad scientist produces thorium cores that can be used to upgrade tools and other devices. The core supercharges the item, increasing its quality and rendering it indestructible for a period. However, once the core runs dry, the object is rendered less useful than it was before. The core crackles with blue electricity while active.
Spend 1 Action and use up this glowing blue disk. Select a non-Alien Device within arm's reach. Cannot be used to improve Armor.

After the Effect ends, any upgraded targets suffer a -2 dice penalty until they are either repaired or upgraded again.
